When we first went to For All Seasons he wouldn’t go back to the therapist’s office without me. Three sessions later he was having to be told to slow down in the hallway leaving me in the waiting room. Since then we have had some backslides with the latest one being at the beginning of the school year. The therapist had me join the session where we made Love Connectors to wear when we’re not together. We’ve had to make a couple new ones because we lost some and some broke but once it’s back on his wrist he can ride the bus and stay in school all day. We couldn’t be happier. Most of my experience was with BD Health in baltimore. Once I changed to medmark my eyes were open to a whole new way of treatment. Before when I was at BD I felt like I was just a gas and go paycheck. I never got counseling. The treatment plans were just bullshitted. Here at medmark my counselor Mary is extremely helpful. Over the course of the time that I've been there she has realized what works best with us when we do our counseling sessions. She realizes that I do not have too many outlets so she lets me open the floodgates and for my heart out to her and it's always judgment free. I can tell that she is on my side 100%. Also the front staff Miss Cindy is absolutely amazing. She is completely professional extremely helpful to answer any questions. I also want to compliment the nursing staff. They have always been extremely polite and extremely professional. I'm extremely grateful to be getting my treatment at medmark. The staff have always been kind and courteous and have shown great compassion! My therapist, Mary Ellen, is amazing! For the first time in my life, I have been able to open up and have been honest with myself and my feelings thanks to her. I'm a work in progress, and for me progress is cherished. Sometimes I don't want to talk about the tough stuff that I need to face, which she understands, but she has a way of helping me think about it in a way that makes it hurt not so much. When I arrived, I knew I needed help, but I don’t think I fully understood just how much I needed to learn. The staff gave me something I desperately needed: the tools to save my life. They didn’t simply help me get through 30 days. They taught me how to begin living differently, how to understand myself, how to face the things that brought me there, and how to move forward with hope. What made the experience so meaningful was the people. I felt supported, heard, respected, and cared for. There were difficult days, but even those days became part of the process of healing and growth. I will always be grateful for the people who walked beside me during those 30 days. I came here needing help, and I am leaving with tools, perspective, hope, and a second chance at my life. I can’t fully put into words what this place has given me. They also provided us a family therapist and offered voluntary group therapy sessions for all the parents who currently had teens in the program, which was a great resource and helped my husband and I feel less alone. From the intake to the out processing, my teen reported feeling safe and well cared for and my husband and I shared that sentiment.
