I would not be where I am today without the help of Recovery Unplugged. I had two 30 day visits with them back in 2019 before moving on to a 90 program in Arizona. Everyone was friendly and you felt like you actually mattered. The musical component of it all was life changing and is still a huge support in my life today. It's outside of the box recovery and if you are looking for a place to start, this is it. I'm coming on six years of sustained recovery and now hold a masters in divinity while thriving in Tucson. AZ. None of this would have been possible without Recovery Unplugged and I could not be more grateful for all they provided in early recovery.

The program and support is great, but once you finish no resources are provided. No follow-up with patients. They are all about profit. The providers can't even provide outside resources. This should be a warning sign they are out to make money.

I had a great stay in Waldorf location. Everything was excellent. I plan on a person who stays active with the Alumni Program. They have an outstanding coordinator, Brittany R what a wonderful person and her story is amazing. She cares deeply about US and the company. If you have a family member, friends or self in need of treatment, call RCA. It's important to connect with Tammy who manages admissions. She is a vital part of the company. Where to start… This is quite the recovery facility. Not only does it test your fortitude and determination for recovery, but helps to foster stability, happiness, mental health, self worth, sobriety, fellowship, and the pursuit of a recovery based future. The relationship between a corporate entity and the intimacy necessary to provide to all walks of life trying to recover from substance abuse and poor mental health can be a brittle and fragile bond. What works for some will not work for others. This fact makes running an establishment such as RCA Capital Region quite the challenge. There are people who have the gift and ability to help everyone strive in recovery at this facility though. One who stands out the most is Brittany Rieman. She has an astonishing story, that has given her the ability to relate to any and all patients within RCA, past present and future. Brittany is strong willed and proud of the things she has overcome along her journey. This gives people hope both in and out of the rooms, all across the board. It shows the tenacious way to be when trying to over come something such as substance addiction. Or poor mental health. The fact that RCA provides a counselor/therapist to their patients is a hugely valuable and important aspect to recovery. Strong mental health is the beginning of a successful journey in any aspect of life. Pastor Kenneth White is one of the therapists on staff at the Capital Region and he leaves a lasting impression on his patients as well. He relates to them in so many ways both on a personal and clinical level. Ms.Rachel and Mr.Tim are two group instructors who apply the information to their own struggles and experiences which makes the education personal and meaningful. Finally Ms.Tammy, this is a woman who genuinely cares about the struggle and experiences each and every patient has which are all their own. No one knows what it’s like to live in someone else’s struggles. Within RCA though you are surrounded with people who double as both peers and mentors who’ve made some of the same mistakes you have but also offer a different perspective of the same or similar situations. Experience is one of the best educators there is, the curriculum shared here in the respective styles of group instructors leaves a lasting impression for those who are ready to let go of their old habits and way of life.

I liked transforming the lyrics into something that reflects the dedication, strength, and supportive care that hospitals provide to so many patients. ❤️❤️‍🩹 My lyrics focus on how hospitals and healthcare teams continue working through challenging situations, including complex illnesses, serious injuries, and emergencies. I wanted to recognize the doctors, nurses, specialists, technicians, and all the other people who work together to support patients and families. 🚒🚑🚨🏥👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️🩺💉💊🩼🦼 I also wanted to capture the idea of “stamina” how hospital systems have to keep going through long days and nights because patients can need care at any hour. Even when situations are difficult, healthcare teams continue working, learning, communicating, and doing their best to provide supportive care. 💙🩵🤍 This isn't meant to suggest that hospitals can solve every medical problem or guarantee every outcome. Our family had a wonderful experience at Sandstone. Our teen was making terrible choices and nothing we were doing as parents was working. Sandstone’s whole of person concept of care was everything our family needed. The program provided a personal therapist for our teen; along with twice a day group therapy sessions; pet therapy; nature walks; and fun group outings. They also provided us a family therapist and offered voluntary group therapy sessions for all the parents who currently had teens in the program, which was a great resource and helped my husband and I feel less alone. From the intake to the out processing, my teen reported feeling safe and well cared for and my husband and I shared that sentiment. We were a little nervous going in because of the online reviews, but if your family is struggling with a teen with addiction, we highly recommend this place. Our teen did say that the food was terrible, but I’d rather the food be terrible and the program be excellent than the other way around. Our teen just started college and said the program was a great way to reset and get back on track.

I recently had the opportunity to visit Embark Behavioral Health, and one of the first things that stood out is how convenient the Tysons location is—easy to access, yet set in a way that still feels calm and contained. From the moment I walked in, the space felt intentional and genuinely welcoming—something that’s not always easy to achieve in behavioral health settings. There’s a thoughtful balance here: it’s structured and clearly designed to support meaningful work, while still feeling open, comfortable, and human. What stood out most to me was how the environment supports both focus and connection. There are defined spaces to get things done, but nothing feels closed off or isolating. There’s a sense that people are visible, supported, and part of something shared—whether that’s during structured programming or more informal moments of social connection. Meeting members of the team only reinforced that impression. Everyone I interacted with was engaged, grounded, and clearly invested in the work they’re doing. It gave me confidence not just in the program itself, but in the experience clients and families would have navigating it day to day.

Came to the site to do a tour of the facility. Met the clinical director for the tour, would have given 5 stars but the front desk area was very messy and had a strange odor. This should be addressed soon since it is the first thing you see as you enter.

This place was an overall amazing experience for me, the staff members are great especially: Matt, Fatima, Meta, Cali, Emilie, Amelia, Dani, Amanda, Tony, Bernard, Alissa and many more. they were kind and listened to me when I had concerns and taught me how to speak up for myself and how to have a healthy relationship with food and my body. I do think the Sunday outings and special walmart orders for allergen prone PT’s could be improved but since I’ve been here things have started to be improved and updated, it’s a learning process for everyone! I will rate Chrysalis House based on when I was there and when it was being ran by different staff and Mrs Carisaa was there. Other than that I can not speak for the program after Mrs. Carissa left. When I was there it was tough but it is what i needed. I have never been to a program that actually cared and literally internally got to me dug up some buried issues and I worked on them. Mrs. MELVINA was my counselor, she was amazing. Most of the staff had went through addiction. Mrs Denise was amazzziiinnggg i never felt uncomfortable, leaving my son with them during the day. The whole staff at that time was amazing. Yes, it was very strict, but they did it in a loving way because they did not want us to die. I know countless women That graduated the Chrysalis House and are still clean. I have ten fifteen, close lifelong friends that I had met at Chrysalis and that are still clean to this day. I have never went to a treatment that had this much success. Like I said, I cannot speak for the new staff, but it sounds like it is still a great program.While I was there and before I left, they were building on the new addition which was beautiful.It was finished before I left but was not open yet. A woman and children's program is needed and I hope that this one is ran as good as it was when I was there.I'm sure it is. I felt so safe with my children. I'll forever be grateful for Mrs. Carissa and all the staff.

I was someone who stayed here for so time almost a year. I know you can't please everyone but they did try to. Most of the residential staff was wonderful very attentive to the clients needs. The two that I felt that went beyond their job was Simone and Melissa I felt very safe and comfortable w them and they are some of the most compassionate, caring staff I have come across I truly believe they are at their job not only for a paycheck but to help. Thank you to all the residential staff. The clinical team here is beyond amazing I am actually lost for words how much the team does. They are all very passionate about their job and they make u feel welcomed and safe . I honestly believe if you are willing to chose recovery Chrysalis House will and can help 💯

From the moment I got on the phone with them, I felt like someone actually heard me . They didn’t push me or judge me—just straight up helped me figure out what I needed. The place had a super chill energy, kind of like a breath of fresh air after all the chaos I’d been through .What hit different was the way they blended structure with real understanding. Though I did sadly relapse a few years later. But I'm clean now and I have over ten years under my belt. Dr. Amin the psychiatrist through INOVA, is the best Dr. that I have seen in the last 20 years. He puts his patients interests first and doesn't force medications on his patients. He listens, is thorough and builds trust by allowing the patient to do what is best for them. A lot of doctors try to force medications on patients and before you know it, you are taking 5 and in line to be the next Michael Jackson. He doesn't do that. He always lets the patient make their own decision by giving as much information as possible. He focuses on the science behind the medications and doesn't account for things that are irrelevant.

What an amazing service this organization provides to their community. We are so grateful for our case manager, Golda, who paired our AudHd daughter with the best therapist. Golda's work ethic and commitment to her clients goes above and beyond to support families, and her efficiency in providing timely services is appreciated. I have taken several program participants to various medical and mental health appointments over the years both in Virginia and in Maryland and was hands down super impressed with the staff at the CSB juvenile, adult, and emergency services. There was quite a wait for emergency services but each department communicated with each other and was so polite. Brian Stewart is one of the few names that we caught but he was phenomenal. The staff checked on us, fed us, and gave us blankets. We saw them touching base with some individuals who were clearly in crisis and they were just so patient and caring. Dr. Smith was our emergency services doc and I wish he could see people regularly because he was funny and he made my program participant feel heard. I have been with an individual to the primary care as well and enjoyed the collaboration with DO Pristell.

Unlike going to a hospital psyche ward, where the nurses are just waiting for their shift to end and the doctor talks to you quickly and writes some prescriptions and rushes you out to see the next patient, the entire staff focuses on you. From the doctor, to the counselors and even the cooking staff, they focus on every patient as an individual and get deeply involved in your case. A very warm, cozy, welcoming environment, nice rooms and bathrooms, and excellent food. It's like a second home you can collect yourself and gather your thoughts and prepare for the outside world again. I highly recommend.

A real life saver. I have PTSD, amongst other things, and the folks here helped me learn how to survive with it. One staff member helped me through one of the worst flashbacks I have ever suffered. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, there is no shame in letting someone save you.

The house that is associated with this property is a great place to go if you're in need of emergency mental health care and assistance from substance abuse. They do not offer detox specifically but if you're doing a detox, they are able to support with their varied staff of psychiatrists, PRN, nurses, and psychologists as well as peer support specialists. I wouldn't have made it to today as psychologically intact as I am without them! My issues were: they cannot always accommodate a vegetarian or vegan diet & the nightly bed checks require some disturbance if you're a light sleeper. They offer ear plugs but you may want to bring a sleep mask to get your best rest. They are genuinely caring people and I highly recommend!
