Going to Tranquillity Woods was the best decisions I ever made and it probably saved my life. Between the clinicians and mental health professionals, I learned how to love myself again and my self worth. I was finally able to break free of my addiction to alcohol and start to rebuild my life which I didn t know was possible. I felt so hopeless going in. Everyone is so caring and goes out of their way for you. The place is gorgeous and comfortable. Food is amazing and I made lifelong friends.

Tranquility Woods was a perfect center to build a foundation for my recovery. 4 mental health sessions per week, group sessions, guest speakers and a strong community all played a huge part in learning the tools for a strong and sustainable recovery. All of the staff are incredibly helpful and accommodating. You get out what you put into it. If you are serious about your recovery, this is the place to go.

This place is amazing. I am in disbelief that a place like this exists and that it was available to me. Coming here was the best thing I ve ever done for myself. The staff from housekeeping, maintenance, kitchen, and clinical/ medical are not just employees. They care and are passionate about you and your journey.When I got here I was broken, ashamed, exhausted. My life was falling apart and I couldn t get out of my own way. They take you apart and help you examine yourself piece by piece. Where do I begin? When I came through the gate, I was broken (or as I've learned -- bruised). I was immediately let out of my car and met by two of my peers who whooshed me to admissions. From that point on, all I felt was acceptance, belonging, and that I was in a judgement-free zone.In my mind, I was broken, unrepairable, and had issues that no one could fix. Boy was I wrong. Whether it was in individual sessions with Remi (My Clinician), or group therapy with Dan, Pat, Ashley, Tiffany, Alanna, Kourtney, Kimberly, and others -- I was given the tools, grace, and ability to begin to fix myself.Plus, the clinicians aren't here to just get a paycheck. They genuinely CARE about the patients, you can literally feel that in the sessions.At my clinician's suggestion, I underwent EMDR treatment and literally felt chains being removed, and childhood trauma no longer had the power that it did on me before coming here.Insofar as the facilities, the station houses are comfy, the supporting staff are incredible, and the Fire every evening is the perfect place to unwind, and listen to your peers share their journey to what led them here to the COE.I could go on and on about how magical this place is, but Google doesn't have the bandwidth for me to sing my praises. I had a phenomenal experience at the Sandstone care alumni event. LeJeffrey Monica was a phenomenal program co-ordinator. She made some insightful remarks. She was really sweet and understanding. She, even, stayed with me while I waited for my ride to come, which I thought was really sweet and i really appreciated it. I had alot of fun doing Pearlers while chit-chatting with other alumni. Sandstone care was a a huge part of my healing journey. I was so enthusiastic to be there again. It was nice to be surrounded by peers who understand mental health struggles as well as the challenges associated with navigating the pyschiatric healthcare system and balancing mental health treatment with school and/or a job. Loved the event! Will strongly recommend! Would love to see alumnis from my time there and catch up in future events!

This was my first time in treatment. Honestly, it completely changed my life. The bonds that I ve made in this place, the sober network I ve built, getting my psych meds right, the entire staff and facilitators- have all been such an extraordinary experience for me. I never understood the difference between just being sober/clean versus actually working a program/recovery. RU has helped me to understand that recovery goes beyond clean time- and it s about changing who you are for the better and continuing to progress as a person overall. We recently had an experience at Virginia Hospital that I feel compelled to share, especially given the circumstances surrounding my 91-year-old father's procedure. From the very beginning, the staff demonstrated a level of care and understanding that was truly remarkable.The process started with our ability to check him in the night before the procedure, which eased a lot of our worries. The nurses on the 6th floor, particularly Annabelle and Shoriyah, provided exceptional care on the first day. Their kindness and attentiveness made a significant difference during a stressful time.On the second day, after my father's procedure, we found ourselves in the ICU, where the nurses, doctors, and staff continued to impress us with their professionalism and compassion. Thank you to Shelby and Michael to name a few. They genuinely understood the challenges that come with my father's dementia. Unlike our experiences at Inova Fairfax and Inova Fair Oaks, where we often felt that the medical staff lacked patience and understanding, Virginia Hospital truly gets it. They recognized his agitation and combative behavior as part of his condition and treated him with the dignity and respect he deserves.It's clear that the staff at Virginia Hospital understands that the way you treat a patient is crucial. I have been very happy with the care my 89 year old mother received. We had one small mishap - not serious- but did delay surgery. The hospital made it so right. I can't say enough about the entire staff of Arlington Hospital. Dr. Petersen is a very trusting surgeon. Lucky and blessed to get him. Would highly recommend this health care and hospital.

The 3.1 program is excellent. The house technicians are very friendly and helpful and the counselors are great at helping you identify and fix the problems you have with your addiction. Also the houses are spacious and clean. Although It would be better if I had my own room as opposed to rooming with 3+ people (in some cases up to 7 other people).

Jeff, who no longer works there was my counselor, but he was just one of many counselors that really help get you through this difficult moment in your life. If you really have made the decision you want to become sober, then hope house is your answer. Please get some help. But don't go there unless you intend to finish the program and become the person that you know you should be for your family for your friends for yourself. I love hope. I would have to say this is the first time i have used this VA center but as a transfer i was able to get my first appointment with my PCM on Yellow team in 4 weeks. My experience with other centers is it took months. I went into the ED tonight and it was empty. The procedure for check in really wasn't posted but but with that being said even though i was there for something most would consider minor and a waste of ED resources the nurse and Dr Douglas treated me with the utmost respect and actually listened to what i was saying. My experience in any ED is once they treat your complaint they street you. But Dr Douglas made the time with me quality she took time to ask if I needed any other problems addressed. I will see how my interactions with the rest of the hospital goes but I am highly impressed with the ED please continue the service.
