I’m currently in the PHP program at Hope Haven Holistic Treatment Services. Before arriving, I had a lot of concerns and worries from my previous detox program. Ms. King addressed every single one of them and reassured me that they would take care of me. Today I can honestly say she kept her word.
I also learned why she started Hope Haven. In my honest opinion, she is here for constructive retaliation — for the people. For me, for you, for all of us.

She’s seen how the drug, court, and treatment systems fail people, leading to relapse and death. The owner reviews cases on a case-by-case basis, which makes a real difference because you actually feel heard.
Like any treatment program, challenges come up, but the staff are well-trained and handle them with care. They make it clear from orientation that they will not abandon you. However, if you’re unable to meet the requirements of PHP, you’ll need a higher level of care. If you choose to step back, that decision is yours. As my mom always said, “Don’t do the crime if you can’t do the time.”
If you’re reading this and wondering whether you can heal, grow, and leave the old life behind — the answer is yes. In treatment, you get out what you put in. There are many additional programs and options available, including trips to Civic Works for trade school training if you want to leave with real skills.

This is the best treatment center I’ve ever been to. They teach you about what you suffer from and ways to overcome it. Within the first week of being here you are set up with a dentist appointment, SSI services, birth certificate services, ID/license appointment at the MVA, eye doctor appointment, DHS appointment, PCP doctor appointment, and most importantly for me is the therapist appointment. The counselors are amazing. The owner herself is a counselor with a caseload, something I’ve never seen. The opportunities offered to you from the peer support specialist are life changing; schooling, job placement, re-entry, and so many other things. The houses are super clean with flat screen televisions in every room. The house mangers will help you with anything and everything. They also hire clients to become house managers and other positions when you get a certain amount of clean time which gives you a lot of hope and the opportunity to give back. I couldn’t say enough good things about Hope Haven. I truly appreciate all the staff and opportunity I was presented.

The sincerity of the gratitude I have for Ashley Treatment Center cannot be expressed in a comment made to be “brief” per-say; however, my gratitude has remained. and continues to grow today for my Ashley Family… and well after my stay ended there on campus in Harve de Grace! Thanks be to God.
Ashley continues to be present in my life, whether virtually, or in person (on a more personal level then ever before- thanks to being sober today and the opportunities to be of service). Ashley is even in my own neighborhood! Their Alumni families continue to grow State to State, and that should speak for something;) I couldn’t have asked for a better place to get sober, and this is MY personal experience and story.

Tranquility Woods far exceeded my expectations! The entire program, while intensive, also provided much soothing and calm during an otherwise stressful time. Patients receive at least four individual one on one meetings per week, as well as a plethora or group meetings and massage and yoga sessions. There are fortunes to travel offsite to meetings and enjoy group activities. Tranquility Woods truly cares about each of its patients. I left with a clear head and a strong plan for success in my future.

We are and have been incredibly impressed with MARC’S recovery program. This is so much
more than just a 30-day inpatient program. This is round 2 with our son in an inpatient 30-day
program. First round included 60-day housing program with another recovery team. Choosing
MARC after a 30-day inpatient, has gone beyond our expectations. The plan of treatment was
SO individualized to our son’s needs. The program included substance recovery and truly
addressed his mental health. The communication with the staff was clear and quick to respond.
The program incorporated weekly family therapy which educated us on addiction and taught us
how to communicate again without waking on “eggshells.” The staff is compassionate,
knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in my son’s success. The program provided the tools,
support, and guidance he needed to rebuild his life and strengthen my relationships with our
family. Including family in the recovery process has made a tremendous difference and helped
create a strong foundation for lasting recovery. His courage and confidence have made him a
strong individual. We highly recommend this program to anyone seeking comprehensive,

Maryland recovery definitely has an amazing program. Like anything in recovery you have to be open to change. The councilors to the coordinator are all amazing they give u as much information as possible while giving the tools to succeed. I had a few options after detox/rehab for a step down program to continue working on my recovery. I am very happy that I chose to go to MRP. From the initial assessment to my next step afterwards, I was supported and involved with every single part of this process. Kim was my counselor and she treated me like I was her own son. She helped open up and talk about things that have been such a struggle for me my whole life. The groups were very informative and enjoyable at the same time. As much as we worked on our recovery, we also had a lot of fun while I was there. We went bowling, to the movies and fishing when the weather permitted. I am so thankful for every single staff member who helped me with everything that I needed. I was so nervous on my way there but that feeling disappeared as soon as I stepped in the door. I was a bit sad to leave but I was also very excited to move on to the next chapter of my life. Again thank you MRP, I appreciate y’all so much.

CAM has by far been the best program I’ve been on. I was at another program (Cherryhill) for years & that place Hod change your whole energy. I would go in happy, come out in a horrible mood! There were a few good people there like Mrs. Hope & Nurse Michelle & a few good counselors, but at CAM, everyone has been amazing! From the beautiful woman at the front to the nurses & counselors, I am grateful for each one of them. I’ve been clean for 14 years & continue to be clean because of CAM.

My inspiring experience at Kolmac,
I was compelled to seek intensive rehab by my specialist. Reason being to do otherwise would mean the surgeons wouldn't operate. My blood scores gave me 18 months.
I was in a wheel chair, Could barely walk, Everything hurt. I was a pretty useless human at the time. I chose Kolmac because I couldn't get somewhere in person. Looking back it was the best way for me to get over my skepticism of rehab or therapy. I'm older gen x, sorry its in my nature. It took about 3 weeks before it sunk in. I realized I had no time left.
I looked at that 18 months. This is what I have to work with. I control this last 18. I'm going to fake it if I have to. I did at first but, turns out my self is pretty gullible.
Kolmac helped me get my mind right. I got better at dealing with bad news. Loved ones started to notice. I started to meditate when I couldn't sleep. I prayed to God. Don't let my last days be the sad part of a country song.
Then my scores started to improve. I physically improved. I had more time, which coincided with the gift of a living donor. Then setbacks. A rollercoaster. All the while I had the soft pillow of Kolmac friends to help. Everyone has their monster. My health was mine.
There is a special bond that you developed with other recovering alcoholics. I notice we seek each other out at parties. The battle of recovery is brutal and I learned a lot from my fellow Kolmac warriors and waryetts I love and care about them like family which makes it so hard to move on.
So back to the grind. Life doesn't always go the way I want. I have the tools to deal with it. I've found peace and happiness in the quiet spaces of my day. I've come a long way in 18 months. I trust my sobriety which in turn inspires others and makes them happy.

I will rate Chrysalis House based on when I was there and when it was being ran by different staff and Mrs Carisaa was there. Other than that I can not speak for the program after Mrs. Carissa left. When I was there it was tough but it is what i needed. I have never been to a program that actually cared and literally internally got to me dug up some buried issues and I worked on them. That graduated the Chrysalis House and are still clean. I have ten fifteen, close lifelong friends that I had met at Chrysalis and that are still clean to this day. I have never went to a treatment that had this much success. Like I said, I cannot speak for the new staff, but it sounds like it is still a great program.While I was there and before I left, they were building on the new addition which was beautiful.It was finished before I left but was not open yet. A woman and children's program is needed and I hope that this one is ran as good as it was when I was there.I'm sure it is. I felt so safe with my children. I was someone who stayed here for so time almost a year. I know you can't please everyone but they did try to. Most of the residential staff was wonderful very attentive to the clients needs. The two that I felt that went beyond their job was Simone and Melissa I felt very safe and comfortable w them and they are some of the most compassionate, caring staff I have come across I truly believe they are at their job not only for a paycheck but to help. From the moment I got on the phone with them, I felt like someone actually heard me . They didn’t push me or judge me—just straight up helped me figure out what I needed. I arrived at the Retreat at Sheppard Pratt suffering from severe obsessive-compulsive and body dysmorphic disorders. Jon Hershfield and the OCD team provided me with exceptionally skilled treatment so I could return home to a significantly higher-quality, more productive, and happier life. I worked specifically with Jon, Molly, and Rebecca (the entire team is fantastic), and they are without a doubt the most knowledgeable, compassionate, intentional, and collaborative clinicians with whom I have ever worked over the course of my 30+ year journey with OCD. They educated me on my conditions and empowered me to build the skills and tools necessary to live with and effectively manage these chronic illnesses. They worked closely with my psychiatrist and social worker on my care team at the Retreat to create a holistic approach to recovery.
