A great place with great advisors and staff in general. Nurses were attentive and treated all with dignity. The schedule can be hectic but it passes the day quickly.. Best to do your best and go in with an open mind. You will get the most out of it. I resisted the help for a week of so but it started to click once I stopped resisting the help available to me. Strongly recommend.

Just finished a twenty eight day program this week. Ashley, the staff, PSAs (especially Gavin) helped me to finally grasp the severity of my disease and my spiritual condition. They took personal interest in me and helped stop me from leaving despite me being a little “difficult” 😆 I will always be grateful for Ashley, for giving me the ability to even say the word grateful, which is a miracle in itself.

I've been in 7 short n long term programs in Baltimore City with my wife Amanda. She passed away September 17th 2024 at 33yrs old. I was not just lost, broken hopeless n suicidal but much worse because the love of my life was gone forever. I thought I'd accepted it was the end for me n that there was no God. Being at my worst i found Amanda was still guiding me even when I didn't know it. Today I can say she helped me find MRP n put some of the best people in my life. I am so very grateful for Maryland recovery n the amazing clinical staff Alex,Kim,Doug, Brittany, Crystal, April,Laura, Carrie, Jessica and Stephanie. They not just did their jobs to the highest standard as well as showed me dignity and respect while doing it. They all gave me what I wanted n needed to want to live life again, setting me up for success, giving me a solid foundation like I never had before. The PSA's Matt, Hayden ,Big Drew, Jeff,Paul, both Lisa's and Nikki literally made me feel like I was not just a person but part of a big "recovery"family that truly cared about me , my needs and wants. They all took the time to get to know me, guide me and shared very helpful personal stories about themselves or someone they knew that has or was going through something like i was. I didn't feel different or alone anymore but part of something bigger. I can honestly say i see things in all of them that id like to see in myself one day as i continue to grow and move forward in life. I see them all as my friends and leaders in recovery and life. Ive done more in the last 30days at MRP than ive done in the last 10 yrs of my life. THANK YOU for helping save my life. If you're struggling with addiction and mental health issues, MRP is the best place to go to for a recovery and set you up for continued success.Just be willing and i swear everything else will fall into place!!!.

I am writing in high praise for the Maryland Addiction Recovery Center (MARC), its staff and its co-founder and Executive Director Sam Bierman. Our daughter is now completing the program and is in her ninth month of sobriety through these collective efforts and the perseverance of our daughter. MARC not only cares deeply for individuals in its programs, but also family members as well—through family counseling and updates that offer great compassion, understanding and peace. MARC has my highest recommendation. It has saved our daughter; she has saved herself through this excellent program. As a writer and career journalist, I know excellence when I see it…

not a bad place, really helped me find a community that i could relate and connect with. i ended up AMA-ing for my own reasons. with these places, there’s always room for improvement, i think there could’ve been a lot more to do and get engaged in in residence, i wish we had movie nights or kareoke for example. and i wish the woman’s group didn’t feel so…misogynistic? just felt like everything we did was very girly? the best i can put it ig. idk i found myself watching a lot of TV because of how little there was to do. if you’re looking for somewhere serene, you won’t find it here, BUT i think if you come in with an open mind, and do what you need to do, and DONT get caught up in other clients, you can find a lot of peace in sobriety. remember what you came for. (it’s you) goodluck in there! be nice to the TA’s too, they DO care about you. i want to shoutout some of my favroite people, i think most of them have left, but GOD i miss y’all. Mike James, ur the bald G.O.A.T Riley, i freaking love your emo alien ass Carmen, you were like a mother to me Camilo, i still check to see how my bones are feeling, you really helped me a lot. Charlie, you are just awesome i still have the fallout sticker you didn’t want. Greg, MY REHAB DAD I LOVE YOU, thanks for that dope hike that one time. Katie, i loved watching movies with you, you’re the best. Kerianne, the best therapist i think i’ve ever had, she CARES. Jackie, i wish we had more conversations, you’re so dope and to anyone else i might be forgetting, THANK YOU!! i love you guys so much.

If you’re looking for a place that actually treats addiction like the chronic, complex, identity-dismantling condition it is, MARC is it. They take time, care, and effort, offering long-term care that dares to go beyond the hope of a 28-day radical transformation. The staff really knows what they’re doing, and they manage to be both clinicians and humans. It’s rare to find a program this ethical, compassionate, and effective. I couldn’t recommend MARC more!

I can't express in words, how much of a great and compassionate person the owner Pete is. He's a very stand up guy, when I had a problem that conflicted with my hours of school (I'm doing remote from 9:30am-4:30pm). Pete went out of his way to make sure, I could still attend my groups virtually from their IOP residential home during the evenings. When the house manager said I couldn't do this, Pete went and made some calls to accommodate me, so I could get the help I needed while also being able to pursue my dreams in getting a job in IT support. Thanks Pete 😊 🫂 🙏. If you're in need of assistance they are very welcoming at the office aswell. The front desk assistant Hunter was very supportive and understanding of my situation any questions I had she answered promptly and kindly. They offered drinks and food to us while we did our intake an everything. I truly appreciate 🙏 and recommend them to anyone in need of stability while trying to get clean or stay sober. They will provide transportation also to and from there office. Hope's Horizon and their sister company Atom is one of the best rehabilitation centers out there 💯👍. Hi my name is Ronald and I am writing this review to recognize Lisa Stainaker and Katelynn Marshall for all of the dedicated also the hard work that they have given to me throughout my alcohol recovery process. Lisa and Katelynn have always answered my emails and phone calls immediately subsequently they have been such a great help and inspiration towards my alcohol recovery.. They both seem to have great memories about subjects on which we have discussed about me as an individual and matters about my relationships with my family. All the conversations that I had with them reassured to me that I was in a safe place when discussing my issues with them and that the confidentiality would not be broken. They both are very supportive with any concerns that I might have had. Lisa was always listening and even shared some of her life experiences with me which made me feel like she could definitely understand.me.Lisa is definitely a consonant professional at what she does. Her knowledge, wisdom, inspiration and caring is amazing. Katelynn has never let me down, she has always answered all of my questions with her knowledge and experience. Katelynn is a very good listener and a extremely good communicator. She has always checked on my welfare to see if I needed anything. Katelynn has advised of each step of this process and what to expect without missing a beat. Lisa and Katelynn have been very instrumental in my recovery in letting me know that I matter first above all other people or issues. I feel that when I first reached out for help with my alcoholism they supported me every step of the way. I am SOBER and with their assistance my sobriety will remain in tact. They both are very professional in what they do, trust me on that. When KOLMAC hired those two I believe KOLMAC hit the jack pot. I continue to participate in the Continued Care program and I feel great again.

Kolmac is a truly wonderful place to work. Their mission aligns closely with my core values as a client-centered clinician, and I feel grateful every day to be part of it. I absolutely love my Towson team and feel lucky to work alongside such compassionate, dedicated people who are genuinely here to help others. It’s not just the clinicians who make Kolmac special—the entire staff leads with heart, from our PAS team to the medical staff to outreach. Everyone plays a role in creating a supportive and caring environment. If you are struggling and looking for support on your journey, I highly recommend starting here. This place saved my life! From the time I walked through the door just three days after my suicide attempt I felt SAFE and with folks who understood what was going on. As a Veteran myself who recognizes privacy issues, I can't share names, but a family member has been staying here. Despite the poor rating of this VA Facility, he states that his treatment has been consistent, the staff has been friendly, and the other patients get along well with no drama. What's sad is that so many veterans have no idea that this hospital is available for the treatment of PTSD, Drug/Alcohol Addiction, Bi-Polar Disease, Anxiety and more - for FREE. Meetings are available daily, and in addition to psychological assistance, medical physicians are available too. The hospital is spotless, you can choose the food you'd like to eat for 3 meals a day, and it tastes 😋 good. TVs 📺 aren't in the room, but they are in the Dayroom, along with pool tables, etc. It's even open to Veterans from other states. Sometimes it's difficult to admit the need for help, but hopefully, someone will take the time to read this and reach out.

Whenever I have a medical problem, I get an appointment at a reasonable time and they listen to the symptoms I have and do a great job getting to the route cause. The provider was friendly, attentive, and incredibly patient—she even let a 38-year-old man call his mother during the consultation, which says a lot about her compassion and understanding. The receptionist who checked me in was equally amazing and deserves a big shout-out for her warmth and efficiency. The services for veterans are good for helping veterans get back their self worth back. They provide shelter and help with common needs for veterans. There are opportunities for veterans to get help for those dealing with addition. They also help veterans who are looking for shelter on a temporary basis. I would recommend veterans who are facing a difficult time to give the Helping Up Mission a chance to help them reclaim their lives with dignity and respect. Mr. Rasheed Savage will get you the help that you need and he is very professional in his approach to helping people, especially veterans.

I have been with Port Recovery for about a year and a half now. I've had sessions with Alana, Elaine, Courtney, Joanne, and Carol. I also had M-F 9am group sessions as well when I was on probation. I like the place enough that I've decided to stay with them after probation to keep seeing Ms. Cook as my psychiatric nurse practitioner. The welcoming environment is exactly what I need, and most likely you too. I was referred to Port Recovery from my Probation Officer. I got into trouble by wrecking my car into a ditch while sleep driving on Ambien. I couldn't remember a thing, only waking up in the hospital. So, I stopped taking extra Ambien even if I can't fall asleep back in February 2020. Now, I'm getting help at Port Recovery with my severe anxiety, depression, and PTSD issues. Best place I've been to for those issues, and being able to see all the professionals I need under one roof is perfectly convenient. Everyone is on the same page! Good luck to everyone else!!! Highly recommended!

Many past patients praise Sheppard Pratt — The Retreat, located in Baltimore, Maryland. Former clients often express gratitude to the center's nurses, mental health workers, doctors, therapists and addiction treatment specialists. I arrived at the Retreat at Sheppard Pratt suffering from severe obsessive-compulsive and body dysmorphic disorders. Jon Hershfield and the OCD team provided me with exceptionally skilled treatment so I could return home to a significantly higher-quality, more productive, and happier life. I worked specifically with Jon, Molly, and Rebecca (the entire team is fantastic), and they are without a doubt the most knowledgeable, compassionate, intentional, and collaborative clinicians with whom I have ever worked over the course of my 30+ year journey with OCD. They educated me on my conditions and empowered me to build the skills and tools necessary to live with and effectively manage these chronic illnesses. They worked closely with my psychiatrist and social worker on my care team at the Retreat to create a holistic approach to recovery. They also ensured that I was discharged with a comprehensive plan to execute with my psychologist at home. I highly recommend them and am eternally grateful for their life-changing care.

I went to The Retreat at Sheppard Pratt experiencing severe depression, anxiety and OCD. I'd been to other facilities and had to wait in line for up to an hour or more for meds that were dolled out without any consideration for the patient. I also had psychiatrist's who would schedule virtually once a week. This was NOT the case at The Retreat. The staff there were awesome! Absolutely ALL of the staff there, especially the doctors and nursing staff, were extremely attentive and knowledgeable. It HONESTLY felt like they cared. I literally cannot say enough great things about the OCD team, led by Jon Hershfield. They were tremendous! I met with Jon or one of his staff nearly every day I was there. Absolute pros! Thank you, guys! The Retreat is a clean, friendly, attentive and professional place to go if you are experiencing mental health problems. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

I spent 4 weeks at the Retreat at Sheppard Pratt last summer. I came in with horrible panic attacks and anxiety, especially around being in cars and transportation. When I arrived, I literally couldn’t be in a car for more than 10 minutes without the help of medication. I was ultimately diagnosed with OCD and very very lucky to be treated by Jon Hershfield and his team including Melissa Mondich. I started exposure therapy the 2nd week. My exposures were around the triggers to my panic attacks like motion sickness. We drove in circles in the car with the music on loud, and the heat up way too high, while I read from my phone. At first I was exhausted and it was tough but it is pretty amazing how quickly this produced results and I saw myself growing stronger. I had so much support and encouragement by the staff and my peers in the program. This program was very well rounded. I also had yoga sessions with Leonora, Acupuncture with Trina, and training with Terry, all of which I miss very very much. I went into the program being scared about driving 10 minutes away to a target and left the program and went to Greece to enjoy my regularly scheduled summer vacation and did not need any anxiety medication at all. I really can not recommend this experience enough. Also a massive thank you to Dr. Amara, my psychiatrist who oversaw my whole treatment and to the nursing staff especially Susan, Kate, and Talila!

Great staff, but lack of beds hurts. I went into ICU for five days. The doctors saved my life no question. I came out of ICU and doctors wanted to move me to isolated room on another floor. No beds were available so they sent me home still really ill. Still recovering so we shall see.

I was taken to Sinai by ambulance with an ischemic stroke. The emergency room quickly stabilized me and I was admitted. I remained in the hospital for 2 weeks receiving occupational and physical therapy. Kaitlin and Brandyn were my main therapists but there were others ( Stephanie, Beth, Frank, Nick) who all did an amazing job enabling me to go home without a walker. The nurses and their assistants (Barbara, Miriam and Lamont) made sure I had everything I needed. Everyone I encountered at the hospital showed concern and empathy for me and all patients. Lisa, the social worker, arranged my outpatient therapy. I am grateful for all the support and help I received to recover so quickly.

I picked up produce from here. The line of cars was long, went out onto the street, down Harford Rd and up the next street. I was stuck at the end of that line. The staff was very well organized. They remained calm, pleasant and hustled. I was in and out in under 10 minutes. The produce was fresh with a lot of variety. I very much appreciate all that the Harbel do.z
