Most of my experience was with BD Health in baltimore. Once I changed to medmark my eyes were open to a whole new way of treatment. Before when I was at BD I felt like I was just a gas and go paycheck. I never got counseling. The treatment plans were just bullshitted. Here at medmark my counselor Mary is extremely helpful. Over the course of the time that I've been there she has realized what works best with us when we do our counseling sessions. She realizes that I do not have too many outlets so she lets me open the floodgates and for my heart out to her and it's always judgment free. I can tell that she is on my side 100%. Also the front staff Miss Cindy is absolutely amazing. She is completely professional extremely helpful to answer any questions. I also want to compliment the nursing staff. They have always been extremely polite and extremely professional. I'm extremely grateful to be getting my treatment at medmark. The program was incredibly informative and gave me the tools I needed to move forward with confidence. What stood out the most, though, was the level of support. The staff genuinely care, you can feel that they have big hearts and are fully invested in helping each person succeed. They made sure I felt prepared for life after leaving, which made a huge difference for me. I also met some amazing people during my stay, and those connections meant a lot. The facility itself is beautiful and in a peaceful location, which really helped me focus on my recovery. One of the most valuable parts of the experience has been the alumni support group. Staying connected after leaving has been so important, and the program they’ve built is truly special. I was offered the chance to go to the HOG two years before I actually went. Best decision I have ever made. The HOG saved my life, and opened my eyes to a life without alcohol. I highly recommend Kolmac to anyone struggling with addiction. After paying some astronomical prices from regular health care providers in the area, I decided to give Perry Point a shot, and I'm so glad I did. Perry Point VA health clinic has provided me with nothing but prompt, professional, and helpful care for all of my health concerns. I've been able to get appointments within a week or two at most outside of specialty care. All doctors and staff have been helpful, and always listened to my concerns. She was very kind and easy to talk to. Natalie in Pre-op got me ready to go and answered all of my questions. Dr Su and Danny, CRNA were very funny and reassuring to me and put me at ease prior to entering the OR. Dr Zalatimo and Mario spoke with me several times before the surgery as well. Everyone went out of their way to help my husband and I feel comfortable with the surgery process. My nurse in the post-op area, Lori, was so kind and helpful to my husband and I. The transporters, the X-ray techs, the ER techs were all friendly and efficient. I had a great experience at Sinai Hospital, and I would refer anyone who needs a Neurosurgeon to Dr Zalatimo! Jon Hershfield and the OCD team provided me with exceptionally skilled treatment so I could return home to a significantly higher-quality, more productive, and happier life. I worked specifically with Jon, Molly, and Rebecca (the entire team is fantastic), and they are without a doubt the most knowledgeable, compassionate, intentional, and collaborative clinicians with whom I have ever worked over the course of my 30+ year journey with OCD. They educated me on my conditions and empowered me to build the skills and tools necessary to live with and effectively manage these chronic illnesses. They worked closely with my psychiatrist and social worker on my care team at the Retreat to create a holistic approach to recovery. They also ensured that I was discharged with a comprehensive plan to execute with my psychologist at home. I highly recommend them and am eternally grateful for their life-changing care. I'd been to other facilities and had to wait in line for up to an hour or more for meds that were dolled out without any consideration for the patient. I also had psychiatrist's who would schedule virtually once a week. This was NOT the case at The Retreat. The staff there were awesome! Absolutely ALL of the staff there, especially the doctors and nursing staff, were extremely attentive and knowledgeable. It HONESTLY felt like they cared. I literally cannot say enough great things about the OCD team, led by Jon Hershfield. They were tremendous! I met with Jon or one of his staff nearly every day I was there. Absolute pros!
