I drank everyday for 17 years following my return from service overseas. The staff was extremely helpful and attentive to my needs as well as the others I met in residential treatment. They definitely were able to reach the root of my alcohol addiction and help put forth a plan for my continued success. I am almost 3 months sober and truly haven't felt better in my life. I have taken several program participants to various medical and mental health appointments over the years both in Virginia and in Maryland and was hands down super impressed with the staff at the CSB juvenile, adult, and emergency services. There was quite a wait for emergency services but each department communicated with each other and was so polite. Brian Stewart is one of the few names that we caught but he was phenomenal. The staff checked on us, fed us, and gave us blankets. We saw them touching base with some individuals who were clearly in crisis and they were just so patient and caring. Dr. Smith was our emergency services doc and I wish he could see people regularly because he was funny and he made my program participant feel heard. I have been with an individual to the primary care as well and enjoyed the collaboration with DO Pristell.

Going to CFD McLean for ARFID treatment saved my life.
When I entered the facility, I was a shell of myself and had zero 'safe' foods; with the support of all the staff, this number quickly grew to 50+.
Specifically for ARFID, this facility is equipped and incredibly knowledgeable + understand the severity of this ED. They are also incredibly knowledgeable of Celiac disease and food allergies + sensitivities.
The staff goes above and beyond to make the environment safe during meals, exposures, in the communal area and kitchen, group sessions, individual therapy, nutrionally, etc - anywhere where there is a potential trigger for ARFID.
Exposures to 'new' foods are done safely and with support from the staff. I will call out that Specifically, Scott is phenomenal at supporting and guiding patients through food exposures.
Anna (dietician) does everything in her power and more to assure that the care plan is tailored to needs and is balanced. She is also a master at collaborating with other care team members to make sure that patients are well supported.
Kathy as a therapist truly understands ARFID and tailors all therapy to make sure that a patient is going to be able to meet goals and is supported through all the moments: highs, lows, amd everything in between.
I need to credit Scott, a tech, for singlehandedly saving me. His care, willingness to support through all the moments, guidance, and consistent support is why I was able to get back on my feet - he is truly 1 in a million and CFD is the luckiest to have such a kind, passionate, and caring staff member on their team.
Every single staff member at CFD cares and patients can literally feel it through their advocacy, support, guidance, and everything in between.
Amanda, Kayla, Jennifer, Liz, Emily K, Emily R, Ona, Dr.Irving were also instrumental in getting me back on my feet.

Center for Discovery has done everything under the sun for me. I was there for 8 weeks before being stepped to a psychiatric unit. The 8 weeks i spent there were rough for me, but the team did everything in their power to help me. As I neared the point of having to leave the facility, everyone truly did everything in their power to allow me to stay. Even though I do have to leave for the time being, I really do hope to return once I am able to. Amanda, Emily R, and Liz were all amazing and are some of the best people out there. I’ve had nothing but a great experience they actually care. Tiffany and Megan the receptionists are the sweetest and have even offered for me to call and just talk, after hours. I love them. Dr. Seamen is a saint and deserves more than she’s recognized for. I’ve been treated with nothing but love and care and it’s super refreshing, Dr. S even referred me to a psychiatrist, Dr. Mary Beth and I’m sure it’ll be as good treatment as ever. It feels amazing longingly be heard/treated and not just pushed medicine.

I was very satisfied with the services I was provided with. They really do care and check in on you to make sure you’re doing well and up to date with what needs to be done. Bibian was awesome and very helpful through out my whole process and made sure I was doing well through out my whole treatment. I highly recommend this place to anyone facing dui/dwi charges,court ordered classes and drug/alcohol tests or simply just looking for a change in the type of lifestyle they’re living. Recovering from a broken femur after a slip and fall was one of the hardest challenges I’ve ever faced—but I couldn’t have asked for a better support team than Karina (OT) and Kathryn (PT).
These two incredible women were so patient with me, especially when I would get in my head and just needed a moment to regroup. They never rushed me, never judged me—just gave me the space and encouragement I needed to keep going.

I had an unexpected visit to the hospital yesterday. I interacted with multiple nurses (I didnt catch all of their names, Aneera was our main nurse) and the doctor was Dr. Redmond. They were all fantastic. The nurses were very caring and quick to help. The doctor was informative and thorough. The emergency department looked nice and was quiet as well. I'd rather not go to the ER, but if I need to, I wouldnt hesitate to go here again.

I was recommended this place by a close friend and I would highly recommend this place to any and everybody struggling with addiction! I spent most of my twenty's going to swanky upscale rehabs in South Florida and this place can compete with the best of them. The staff and counselors genuinely care about the patients and you will never be hungry, the food is great! This place is just the first stepping stone in your recovery to get you stabilized after using and I promise you they're great at doing so!!

If u guys want the help they will help you. But they are not going to chase after you to give you the help! You have to show that you’re willing to fix your addiction or you’re just basically using this place for housing. I been to this rehab twice and thank god I got the help I needed on my second trip. So stop giving this place a 1star review because your family member got kick out! Do you even understand how hard it is to get kick out of that place? People are rating this facility like they paid out of pocket. Stop disrespecting a good thing!
