I will rate Chrysalis House based on when I was there and when it was being ran by different staff and Mrs Carisaa was there. Other than that I can not speak for the program after Mrs. Carissa left. When I was there it was tough but it is what i needed. I have never been to a program that actually cared and literally internally got to me dug up some buried issues and I worked on them. Mrs. MELVINA was my counselor, she was amazing. Most of the staff had went through addiction. Mrs Denise was amazzziiinnggg i never felt uncomfortable, leaving my son with them during the day. The whole staff at that time was amazing. Yes, it was very strict, but they did it in a loving way because they did not want us to die. I know countless women That graduated the Chrysalis House and are still clean. I have ten fifteen, close lifelong friends that I had met at Chrysalis and that are still clean to this day. I have never went to a treatment that had this much success. Like I said, I cannot speak for the new staff, but it sounds like it is still a great program.While I was there and before I left, they were building on the new addition which was beautiful.It was finished before I left but was not open yet. A woman and children's program is needed and I hope that this one is ran as good as it was when I was there.I'm sure it is. I felt so safe with my children. I'll forever be grateful for Mrs. Carissa and all the staff.

I was someone who stayed here for so time almost a year. I know you can't please everyone but they did try to. Most of the residential staff was wonderful very attentive to the clients needs. The two that I felt that went beyond their job was Simone and Melissa I felt very safe and comfortable w them and they are some of the most compassionate, caring staff I have come across I truly believe they are at their job not only for a paycheck but to help. Thank you to all the residential staff. The clinical team here is beyond amazing I am actually lost for words how much the team does. They are all very passionate about their job and they make u feel welcomed and safe . I honestly believe if you are willing to chose recovery Chrysalis House will and can help 💯

From the moment I got on the phone with them, I felt like someone actually heard me . They didn’t push me or judge me—just straight up helped me figure out what I needed. The place had a super chill energy, kind of like a breath of fresh air after all the chaos I’d been through .What hit different was the way they blended structure with real understanding. It wasn’t just "do this, follow that"—they actually asked what worked for me. Big win. I got my head clear, my heart a little lighter, and finally feel like I’m not stuck anymore 🎧.

This place had been wonderful the staff is so nice and helpful. Dr fuller in particular is by far one the better or best professionals I've seen in a long time. The medical system is messed up this place has been a breath of fresh air for me. a few hiccups but it's 100 better than what I'm used to. Just want to say thank you

Nice people fast service

Dr. Amin the psychiatrist through INOVA, is the best Dr. that I have seen in the last 20 years. He puts his patients interests first and doesn't force medications on his patients. He listens, is thorough and builds trust by allowing the patient to do what is best for them. A lot of doctors try to force medications on patients and before you know it, you are taking 5 and in line to be the next Michael Jackson. He doesn't do that. He always lets the patient make their own decision by giving as much information as possible. He focuses on the science behind the medications and doesn't account for things that are irrelevant.

What an amazing service this organization provides to their community. We are so grateful for our case manager, Golda, who paired our AudHd daughter with the best therapist. Golda's work ethic and commitment to her clients goes above and beyond to support families, and her efficiency in providing timely services is appreciated. Our daughter's health and well-being has improved so much since starting with the CSB, and our family dynamics have gotten so much better. Thank you to Dayona and Golda for their support and guidance in navigating what felt like a desperate plea for help. Love working with them both!

I have taken several program participants to various medical and mental health appointments over the years both in Virginia and in Maryland and was hands down super impressed with the staff at the CSB juvenile, adult, and emergency services. There was quite a wait for emergency services but each department communicated with each other and was so polite. Brian Stewart is one of the few names that we caught but he was phenomenal. The staff checked on us, fed us, and gave us blankets. We saw them touching base with some individuals who were clearly in crisis and they were just so patient and caring. Dr. Smith was our emergency services doc and I wish he could see people regularly because he was funny and he made my program participant feel heard. I have been with an individual to the primary care as well and enjoyed the collaboration with DO Pristell.

An excellent house to go if you're in need of mental health care. Unlike going to a hospital psyche ward, where the nurses are just waiting for their shift to end and the doctor talks to you quickly and writes some prescriptions and rushes you out to see the next patient, the entire staff focuses on you. From the doctor, to the counselors and even the cooking staff, they focus on every patient as an individual and get deeply involved in your case. A very warm, cozy, welcoming environment, nice rooms and bathrooms, and excellent food. It's like a second home you can collect yourself and gather your thoughts and prepare for the outside world again. I highly recommend.

A real life saver. I have PTSD, amongst other things, and the folks here helped me learn how to survive with it. One staff member helped me through one of the worst flashbacks I have ever suffered. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, there is no shame in letting someone save you.

The house that is associated with this property is a great place to go if you're in need of emergency mental health care and assistance from substance abuse. They do not offer detox specifically but if you're doing a detox, they are able to support with their varied staff of psychiatrists, PRN, nurses, and psychologists as well as peer support specialists. I wouldn't have made it to today as psychologically intact as I am without them! My issues were: they cannot always accommodate a vegetarian or vegan diet & the nightly bed checks require some disturbance if you're a light sleeper. They offer ear plugs but you may want to bring a sleep mask to get your best rest. They are genuinely caring people and I highly recommend!

The staff at this location is phenomenal. I've been utilizing this clinic due to the convenience of the location and get the same service as I would at the Washington D.C location. Kudos to the PG Clinic staff and doctor(s)for a job well done.

I was reluctant to get extra help at first, but Kolmac has been a huge part of my recovery. I did the PHP program virtually with Derek Berry, who was supportive, practical, and always reachable when something came up. I then moved into continuing care with Jeff Starr, who runs a great group. He sets clear expectations, keeps things honest, and genuinely cares about everyone in the room. Having it all online made it possible to fit treatment around work and family. If you're on the fence about getting help, I'd recommend Kolmac Arlington.

Jeffrey Starr is an outstanding addiction therapist. He is compassionate, thoughtful, and genuinely listens, while providing practical guidance without judgment. I’ve found his approach extremely helpful and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a skilled and caring therapist at Kolmac.

Everything is good

Since moving to Colorado I have received the worst healthcare in my life, the VA in Richmond, VA is also horrible, this VA did everything possible for me some appointments were a little far out but the level of care that I have received here compared to other VAs is in a class of its own. Had two knee Surgeries and Dr. Rankin is the best, the anesthesiologist I forget his name but for my first knee surgery he has been by far the best out of the four I've had.
