Not only did I complete the 30 day program I met some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Starting with the counselors and case managers, my counselor Ms Mo she is tough but the most helpful and supportive person and I needed your toughness and more importantly she knew I needed that as well and for that I thank her and Mrs bam omg she is the sweetest person ever and helped me everytime and always was there when I needed to talk which was a lot and for that thank you so much. Now another person who was so kind and amazing to me and to everyone was Nate he is an amazing person and such an inspiration thank you so much Nate. But long term, Pyrimid and my team for MAT and MH have been amazing to me. I know it was a struggle at first due to my high anxiety with new things. But they went beyond to help me. I get some people have bad experiences, but you do what you can to get clean and get ahead of it and if you start out negative, it's definitely going to be rough. (Will be 6 years this November 2O25)... I've had time to process a whole lot. The counselors are very caring. They're really helpful and kind. They want to see you do well. The nurses are super friendly. So are the doctors. As far as wait times, well, TBH, that all depends on what time you get there during the morning. Like me for example. I go daily now and I try to go before 6am, if I get there before 6am, and I don't have a UA, I'm usually in and out in about 5-10 minutes. In my opinion, this is one of the better clinics in the Hagerstown area. They all want to see you do good and stay clean and sober for the rest of your life. Not saying you'll have to be here that long, but, just enough to get stable to where you feel safe and comfortable with yourself. I also wanted to say that I've had about 4 or 5 counselors since I've been going there and IDK why the counselors keep leaving or getting let go. The one I have now, she seems pretty nice. Also, FYI: As of June 1st 2024, their hours will be changing. The cutoff time for dosing will now be 12 Noon, instead of 1pm. I think it's because of the lack of counselors and nursing staff. It would normally be a 5/5, but things have REALLY changed. Physicals every 3 months, I don't understand why...and they have a HUGE turnover of nurses and counselors. I have to say the PA on duty was excellent, his name is Jeffrey Haines..he kept me informed along the way from the minute he saw me until I was discharged a few hours later. Great personality and explained everything fully so I understood what happened and then what to do after being discharged he even (thank god) gave me 2 pain pills from the hosp pharmacy because my pharmacy was closed when i was released and I definitely needed those pills in the middle of the night!! Special mention for a few wonderful nurses that helped me and were so kind and thoughtful and caring throughout the visit..Nurse Karol (with a K) beyond sweet and caring..she made me feel so comfortable and was so very nice!! Nurse Adam, great guy (nurse or tech?) also kept me informed and checked on us periodically. Nurse Lori who discharged me..her information helped me tremendously..being nervous you forget to ask things but she gave me all the information I could possibly need and what a wonderful personality!! She even brought the pain pills as soon as they came in from the hosp pharmacy..those I had to wait for but she was great checking up on those for me. And also a special mention for Brenda, she came around and took my ins information etc..very nice, not her usual job..but assured me she will call and get the insurance straight..been having issues with a 2ndry that most billers don't understand...she knew what I meant and will call and handle it for me! Thank you to everyone from signing in (nice guard I never saw your face..thanks for wheeling me in!) to leaving..(another nice guard!) Deanna & Susan helped me in so many ways, I’ll never be able to thank them enough!! Anytime anyone asks for help with anything as such, I will always refer to them. I did two rounds there, the first time was forced and I just was not ready, but this last time I really didn’t have a choice as I was diagnosed with cirrhosis - end stage 4 liver disease bc of alcoholism; it was literally life or death. I chose to go back bc I wanted to live, as I sit here typing this, today is my 2 year soberversary or 731 days!! I owe part of my recovery to them and will forever be grateful to have had such an outlet ina time where I didn’t know what was next! Somehow she convinced me to stay. Begged her to come get me every chance I got to call until some point something clicked. Definitely taught me all the things I needed to know about for recovery. Because of the way Melissa intentionally listened and asked thoughtful probing questions, I felt seen, heard and known. It has been the privilege of my life getting to be known by Melissa, especially through the pandemic. No matter how full her schedule was, I knew that entering into our time together meant I was walking into a safe space. The hour always passed by too quickly and I always left feeling lighter and braver. Melissa is kind and warm, sunshine personified, and I am a better person because of her care and insights. Emily Cunningham was the first therapist I tried at Brooklane and I had a good vibe on the first session. I've gone through several therapists and Emily is the first therapist I've had in years who I look forward to sessions with. I did have a negative experience with one of the psychiatrists and asked to transfer to someone else. The process only took an approval and I was put with someone else for my very next session.
