My wife had a slip after a couple years of sobriety and I know a couple people that are affiliated with SD Detox, Tommy and Hew. Tommy and Hew were such an inspirational component to getting Heather the help she needed and presented everything in a very supportive & compassionate way. While in SD Detox something shifted for my wife, she’s been in other programs in the past but there was something different about SDD. She was finally ready and in perfect timing was in the right surroundings for her to feel safe enough to let go and be vulnerable… She was able to get down to causes and conditions and as a result is a lot happier and more present at home and at peace within her new found Journey in sobriety. I can’t thank the team at SDD enough for everything! It’s amazing to have my wife back! 🙏😇💛🤟🫡

I’ve struggled with addiction for MANY years. Been in and out of rehabs over the past 10 years. I originally came to SDD for only a couple days. I ended up staying longer because for once I was getting the help I truly needed. The facility itself is incredibly comfortable. The staff and counselors showed how much they care. I was able to open up about a lot of my traumas, and received help specifically for them. If I had the means, I would’ve stayed longer. In fact, many of the group I was in did have the means and stayed longer. It just felt good to have an environment that allowed me to be open and honest, and without judgement. I’m incredibly grateful and thankful for SDD. I highly recommend this facility to anyone struggling with addiction.

San Diego Detox is a world class facility and a gorgeous spa-like campus filled with natural beauty that will restore your soul. Going there literally saved my life. The staff are out of this world and make recovery, which is awful, especially in the early days, a supported and positive experience of personal discovery, reflection, growth, and community. If you are searching for a place to heal, this is the place you should go. You will find amazing staff who support your health holistically to include your body, mind, and spirit, and helping you learn how to live life to the fullest in sobriety and recovery. 10/10 would recommend and cannot say enough good things about this program.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Inpatient rehab provides intensive treatment for clients exiting detox, those in early recovery, and those at an elevated risk of relapse. Unlike outpatient drug rehab, clients receiving inpatient care reside at the facility for the duration of the program. The length of stay may range from two weeks to 18 months or more, depending on the client's needs and the program's design. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training.

When addicted, quitting your drug of choice suddenly can be dangerous. That's why experts agree a medically assisted detox is the safest way to remove addictive substances from the body. Usually done in an inpatient setting, your vitals signs and overall well being are consistently monitored and rechecked in order to keep you safe and ensure the detox is successful.

Treatments

Alcoholism, or alcohol use disorder (AUD), is defined by alcohol dependence. This is a state the body reaches when it experiences withdrawal symptoms in the absence of alcohol. A person who has AUD craves alcohol and continues to drink despite adverse consequences. Because withdrawing from alcohol can pose health risks, individuals with AUD should seek professional alcohol rehab in California to overcome their alcohol addiction. This process typically involves medical detox, rehabilitation, and maintenance.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

In California, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs offer comprehensive care for individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Programs include medically assisted detox, intensive outpatient, outpatient, residential rehab, and partial hospitalization. Using an evidence-based approach, clinicians utilize therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy, or dialectical behavioral therapy and mindfulness to address substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health challenges. Additional services include 12-Step recovery, group therapy, family counseling, and relapse prevention to promote sustained recovery.

Inpatient treatment for drug and alcohol addiction with a focus on mental health is a good fit for people who need closer monitoring and care. Treatment may occur in a hospital setting, a clinic, or a luxury rehab center. Mental health counselors and staff are available 24/7. Therapies typically include group and individual counseling, relapse prevention education, and emotional coping skills training.

In California, substance abuse treatment programs can help individuals with any type of substance use disorders and co-occurring conditions. These rehab programs typically encompass various levels of care, including medically assisted detox, intensive outpatient, outpatient, residential rehab, and partial hospitalization. You can expect clinicians to utilize evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and mindfulness to help you achieve and sustain your recovery. The rehab's clinical team can provide a comprehensive assessment to determine the appropriate level of care and medical support you may need.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Clinical Services

Cognitive behavioral therapy in California is a method that therapists often use for the effective treatment of substance use disorders. It is based on the principle that substance abuse stems from unhelpful ways of thinking and patterns of behavior, which can be changed by helping the individual learn better ways of coping.

During group therapy, men and women learn to express their emotions openly in a non judgmental setting. This helps you process your feelings and reduces feelings of social isolation that are often associated with addiction.

Individual therapy for drug addiction includes a customized treatment plan that considers your history and life circumstances. During your therapy sessions, the therapist helps you uncover underlying issues and triggers for addictive behavior that support a holistic approach to recovery.

I recently returned from my stay at San Diego Detox and I can't say how great this place is. Having been in defferent treatment centers several times, SD Detox is by far the best place I've ever been. The facility is very nice, nearly all the rooms are suites with private baths and super comfortable. The staff are nothing but amazing. They are very friendly, caring and excel at making sure your comfortable and feel welcomed. They're like old friends that you've known for a long time. They treat you with the upmost respect and dignity. And, the food is better than any 5 star restaurant. I HIGHLY recommend SD Detox to anyone seeking the best treatment you can get.

I spent 30 days at San Diego Detox. The staff are truly amazing. Staff members go above and beyoned ot make sure you feeled welcomed and safe. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all provided with resturant quality food. There are daily outings to horse threapy, a local lake, hikes, and of course nightly recovery meetings. San Diego Detox is more than just a detox, but also has a mental health focus. Meeting weekly with my threapist and case manager were critical in my recovery.

San Diego Detox exceeded every expectation I had coming in. The clinical staff — therapists, case managers, nurses, and nurse practitioners — are on-site every single day and are genuinely exceptional. What stood out most was how the therapists work: they guide you toward understanding the root of your emotions rather than putting words in your mouth. For anyone who's been through a larger, impersonal facility, the difference at a 22-bed program like this is immediately obvious. The techs are always present and everyone — without exception — is warm and approachable. I say this as someone who works in healthcare, and don't give accolades often. The accommodations are surprisingly comfortable. Private rooms, pool, and jacuzzi, and — critically for anyone managing work obligations — access to your phone and laptop outside of group therapy hours. The meals are hearty and high quality, and snacks are available throughout the day. The chefs are there daily making 3 meals as well as accommodating dietary restrictions. The overall atmosphere is professional without feeling clinical or cold. Everyone there took a vested interest in my sobriety and it was a consistent loving and caring environment for someone in acute detox as well as afterwards. The therapeutic programming is where this place really shines. Beyond traditional group therapy, they offer equine therapy, dog therapy, yoga, sound therapy, and outdoor excursions to Palomar Lake and the beach. Big Book readings are incorporated into group sessions, which is invaluable for anyone new to sobriety and trying to understand the foundation of the 12-step program. Daily rides to AA meetings are available when you're ready, and some days feature in-house H&I speaker meetings. They take you to a variety of co-ed and men's/women's only meetings to give you a flavor and find your best fit so when you progress to php/IOP you have a general sense of the types of meetings. Off-hours, there's a small gym with a smithpress, dumbbells, and treadmills, plus a movie theater and ping pong. Pool and Jacuzzi as mentioned above. Bluetooth speaker for music by the pool. If you or someone you love is considering treatment, this place is the real deal. They are leagues above other facilities, and I would send anyone who asked here for high quality treatment of their substance use disorder.

Wow…Wowie!!! I went in because I could no longer manage my life being on the road of addiction. I was hopeless, broken and I had hit my rock bottom. They welcomed me in at the perfect time. Gods time. I could feel the love and understanding the moment I walked thru the door. I found support, compassion and acceptance from the entire staff! They were kind. They could relate. The just got me. I will forever be in their debt because they truly, along with God, accepted me. I even stayed an extra 10 days to fine tune the tools I needed in order to lead an amazing and sober life!!! Every person there played a role in my recovery. I’m now coming up on my 60 days of sobriety. I can wake up every morning looking forward to my life in recovery! I never knew being clean could feel so good. Thanks to all of the people at San Diego Detox for teaching me how to live a life better than I could have ever thought possible!!!
