About SaVida Health

SaVida Health Clinic in Springfield, Massachusetts, is an outpatient clinic that supports adults struggling with opioid and alcohol use disorders. They primarily offer medication assisted treatment (MAT) alongside social services that support lasting healing. They’re also equipped to take care of mental health conditions that often co-occur with substance misuse.

The clinic fosters a conducive and safe outpatient setting where people can seek help without being judged. Treatment is delivered by a team of caring and friendly experts passionate about helping others regain control of their lives. Their unparalleled commitment to quality and affordable care has been praised by numerous past clients. It’s also established them as a top clinic for opioid recovery in this region.

Tailored and Accessible Care With Same-Day Availability

An important attribute of this clinic is their commitment to making opioid recovery services accessible to all. They accept Medicaid, Medicare and many commercial insurances. This keeps costs low and makes life-saving care affordable and accessible to a broader audience.

One thing we find super appealing about this clinic is that they offer same-day or next-day availability. So you can quickly start treatment the same day. This eliminates long wait times and reduces the risk of delays in care. It’s especially helpful if you need urgent support or are ready to take the next step in recovery immediately.

Medication Supported Recovery

Medication assisted treatment promotes holistic healing by pairing FDA approved meds with counseling. SaVida Health Clinic in West Springfield has several meds available for this program. This includes Suboxone, buprenorphine, Vivitrol and Sublocade. Having these varying choices of meds means your prescription will match your unique condition via a tailored care plan.

Psychiatric Support for Co-occurring Disorders

The clinic also extends support to folks with co-occurring disorders. This is when someone struggles with both substance use disorder and mental health issues. Psychiatric support may include assessment, prescriptions and medication management.

Flexible Recovery with Telehealth Support

Outpatient opioid recovery of this nature is particularly appealing for the flexibility it offers. You’ll simply be visiting the clinic for dosing and a few hours of therapy on scheduled days. There’s no overnight stay, and therapy doesn’t interfere with your job or everyday routine.

The clinic goes further to optimize convenience by offering telehealth support. This means you can attend counseling or therapy sessions through a secured virtual platform using your smartphone or computer. This enhances comfort and saves costs since you won’t have to leave home.

Recovery Support Services

Their wraparound services include case management. Your case manager will advocate for quality care on your behalf. Most importantly, they’ll streamline your access to social support services within the community. This may include affordable housing, job opportunities and medical care. Having these resources allows you to focus on your long term recovery goals without distractions.

Accepted Insurance

SaVida Health works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Addiction is a highly complex problem, and drug rehab in Massachusetts is often necessary to address it. These programs treat physical, mental, and relational issues that are involved. Treatment empowers individuals to manage these issues without the use of drugs.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

My experience while being at Savida health has been nothing but Pleasant. Staff has always been on top of the game. Not once since coming to this place have I ever felt uncomfortable, if you truly indeed want your recovery, you will get what you put in. Looking at some reviews people complaining, your problem didn't happen overnight so don't expect for things to fall in place overnight. I've been clean 12 years, because I've put in really hard work. Mostly all addicts biggest problems are they want instant gratification. Unfortunately recovery doesn't work that way. Again if you put in hard work you will see good results, but most of all you have to learn how to navigate around obstacles when they are presented to you. At the end of the day it starts and falls on you, Blessings to the staff at Savida health as well as the patients...

Mehan is always a pleasure to talk to. He definitely let you know that he cares and is engaged in every conversation. I'm very glad I got the opportunity to be able to have him as my counselor. He has been a tremendous help at least to me. If there's anyone in our system looking for a counselor that really truly cares he's the one you want to talk to. I haven't worked with many of the other counselors at this facility but I can say with the very few ones I have worked with Robert is one of the best.
