About Sober Apartment Living

In Scottsdale, Arizona’s Southwest Village, you’ll find the Sober Apartment Living (SAL) Co.’s Scottsdale complex. This nonprofit organization’s mission is to provide individuals who are recovering from drug and alcohol addictions with a fully supportive living environment. Here, you’ll find a bustling community of like minded folk in recovery, living under the safety of a program in which accountability and honesty are prioritized.

Facilitating a Lifestyle of Healing

SAL promotes sustainable recovery by helping each resident follow a schedule that’s most conducive to preparing for fully independent living. They have managers and counselors living in the village who facilitate group meetings, individual mentorship and help residents access the resources they need to start thriving.

Planning is a significant focus in the program. They offer career development planning, ongoing support for those with structured recovery plans, and gently hold each resident to their commitments. They also offer great food and access to various forms of exercise, helping you stay on top of your general physical health.

Excellent Accommodations Kept Affordable

One of the best parts about living here is that the village has a pool, a volleyball area, dedicated spaces for barbecuing and a fitness center. They provide everything you’ll need to enjoy your time in this transitory recovery phase and, as a nonprofit, they keep the monthly fee low.

They won’t let you in with a service animal, they will find another way to deny you. The best way to get one in is to not tell them about it and show up with it at move in. Also with emotional support animals just make sure you have the paperwork.

I can't put into words what this did for my life here. The people and the staff here are completely genuine. You're surrounded by a group of people who just want to be better human beings. The rules are strict (as they should be) and it kept me accountable for myself. Working in recovery myself I see the lengths that they had to go to in their lives to keep us safe. I'm coming up on my four years and Anthony and Gary along with everyone else there that I met showed me how to live a life in sobriety and do it the right way. I'll forever be grateful to rebuild my life there for what those people did for me in my life.

(Please see update at bottom) Other users have noted a quality sober fellowship at SAL. While this is entirely true, it is a merit of the residents at least as much as the property. SAL is a fair price for the stay with acceptable and expected rules and regulations - largely what you pay for in sober-living. Now the bad: Appliances are ancient (in some units), Wi-Fi is less than 3 Mb/sec (has been addressed ❤️), and currently 80 plus residents are sharing approximately four working washing machines (this was addressed and corrected!). Also, the AC is ineffectual (high 70s inside is the norm, sometimes 80+ [this was addressed, as well]). SAL is a quaint and welcoming sober-living with admirable accountability to her sober residents! Update (8/12): So the internet has been addressed and is now testing at a half Gig (500 Mb/s!) and the chiller had some maintenance and temperatures have dropped in the unit! Big shout out to the staff for addressing major issues, and empathizing with their residents! Still short a couple of working washing machines, but the conditions are improving significantly. I understand that there are numerous moving parts with maintaining such a large property. These rapid improvements are indicative of the staff's sincere efforts to improve conditions. Thanks again for caring, SAL Staff! From 3 to 4 🌟 The broken washing machines were repaired and, as a resident, I continue to feel heard and appreciated. I feel confident calling Sober Apartment Living a solid 5 🌟 sober-living now; not only for its current state of being such a haven for me, but the fact that they actively address the needs of their residents to KEEP it a haven! I ❤️ ya, SAL - keep it up!

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

If you're struggling with adjusting to daily life after inpatient rehab, a sober living home in Arizona may be a good option. These residences offer an in-between option where you can practice the skills you learned in rehab in a structured, drug-free environment. This transition can help you prepare to face the "real world" after treatment. You'll live with others in recovery and follow house rules such as contributing to chores and paying rent.

Treatments

Alcohol use disorder (AUD), also referred to as alcoholism and alcohol addiction, is a chronic condition that involves craving alcohol and an inability to control drinking. A person with AUD must drink greater and greater amounts of alcohol to achieve the same effects and experiences withdrawal symptoms if they stop drinking alcohol. Several evidence-based methods are available to treat AUD through alcohol rehab in Arizona. This treatment can occur on an outpatient or inpatient basis.

Drug rehab in Arizona is the process of treating individuals who are dependent on a particular addictive drug. Because addiction is complex, this treatment typically includes a variety of interventions that address the many physical and emotional issues involved.
