About The Recovery Center

The Recovery Center (TRC) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma offers drug and alcohol addiction treatment services. They help individuals maintain sobriety with detox services, outpatient care and aftercare support. Their services are available to adults over the age of 18.

They accept a wide range of insurance plans, including Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare and Cigna. Private pay is available, and state funded care is available for those who qualify. This facility is certified by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services as a Comprehensive Addiction Recovery Center and holds national accreditation through CARF.

Separate Units for Detox and Residential Care

TRC has space for 48 clients, with separate areas for detox and residential treatment. Amenities like private rooms, a dedicated meditation space and recreational activities can support a holistic recovery. You will be assessed using ASAM criteria to make sure you’re placed in the appropriate level of care.

Inpatient detox services are medically supervised and usually last between five and ten days. Medications will be available to aid in the recovery process. With your symptoms and cravings reduced, you’ll be able to put your full attention towards counseling and learning coping mechanisms to prevent relapse.

Personalized Outpatient Treatment To Support Recovery

The facility provides clients with personalized treatment plans as a part of their outpatient care. You’ll be treated with evidence based therapeutic approaches such as dialectical behavioral therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy. A great thing about outpatient care is you’ll have more time to spend with your family or taking care of daily responsibilities.

Clients praise the staff for being welcoming and encouraging, and were complimentary about the homemade food. One alumnus said, “I appreciate the care given to me at my weakest and most vulnerable moments. It’s care like this that makes a difference in people’s lives and sobriety.” One client was grateful for the nicotine gum she was given to help her cravings.

Absolutely phenomenal staff and positive environment for anyone looking to detox and get clean. The staff are all very kind and supportive, the patient living area is always clean, they provide tons of free snacks available at all hours if you're hungry, and the meals served three times daily are very high quality and delicious. They also make enough for everyone to have at least two portions/seconds for every meal, so you'll never be hungry. I'm 38, and have been through TRC four times in my life since I was 19. Every time has been a positive and healing experience. In just one week their care helped return my strength of body and spirit. They will also help you find rehabilitation centers to go to after your detox if you wish, or sober living if you wish to go straight into, say, am Oxford House or other sober living environment. I'd give them seven stars if I could. Thank you, TRC! You helped save my life!

TJ, wow… this meant so much for us to read. Seriously, thank you for taking the time to share this and for trusting us during such an important moment in your life!

Hearing how much you connected with our team, the groups, and even the day-to-day experience means everything. We’re going to make sure every single person you mentioned sees this, because this is exactly why they do what they do.

More than anything, we’re so proud of you. The effort, the mindset, the willingness to show up and do the work—that’s what makes recovery stick, and you showed all of that while you were here.

We’ll be cheering you on all the way to that one-year milestone (and beyond). And we really hope we get to see you again down the road, whether that’s to celebrate, share your story, or even be part of the team someday. (And don't forget to join our Alumni Group if you're interested!)

You’ve got this. Always rooting for you. ❤️

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient programs are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. Their outpatient services are individualized and consumers are screened, assessed, and referred to an appropriate level of care based on the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s (ASAM PPC) placement criteria.

The Residential Program is specifically designed for an extended stay, to address individual needs and provide tools to achieve success with long term sobriety. The Residential Program provides the opportunity to implement best practices, and allows the patient to focus on their wellness in a structured environment away to allow healing and planning for the next steps in recovery.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Clients enrolled in rehab aftercare programs have typically completed weeks or months of intensive treatment, often in inpatient detox and/or rehab centers, and may be receiving outpatient care. Drug rehab aftercare is designed to approach recovery as a life-long process. Clients and their case managers and care teams typically work together to formulate clients' continuing care plan, which may include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program facilitation, among other services.

12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Medically supervised detoxification is often necessary to manage the medical complications associated with chemical dependency. TRC offers detoxification services on an inpatient as well as ambulatory basis. Consumers are screened and assessed for appropriate level of care for detoxification treatment.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

To address the issues of addiction, each drug rehab in Oklahoma is tailored to meet the individual's needs. Treatment may occur in a residential or outpatient setting, and may last from a few days to several months.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

If you participate in cognitive behavioral therapy in Oklahoma, you can expect to attend somewhere between five and 20 sessions. This short term method is an effective way to learn healthy coping strategies that help you change your thinking and behavior patterns.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Motivational interviewing may be used on its own or in conjunction with other treatment approaches. It is designed as a mode of communication rather than an intervention. It involves asking questions, listening, and encouraging clients to come to their own conclusions and feel empowered to make changes in their lives.

Trauma therapy provides you with a safe and supportive environment in which you can confront and address the emotional and physical impacts of traumatic events. Your therapist helps you understand your emotional and physical responses and develop healthier coping skills, which lowers your anxiety level and provides you with greater self confidence.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.
