About New Beginnings – Minnetonka

One great thing I noticed about them is they accept multiple payment forms. Along with commercial insurance you may be eligible for county funding. Their dedicated team works with you to ensure finances don’t deter you from getting the help you need.

With intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) you can live at home and attend treatment. They strive to make treatment accessible by providing day, evening and weekend sessions. You’ll access structured care to educate you about addiction and encourage motivation. Individual and group therapy, skill building workshops, educational films, conferences and lectures are available.

What stands out most to me is they offer a virtual IOP. You can participate in the same proven therapeutic interventions from the comfort of your home. This can simplify fitting treatment into your daily schedule while tending to other commitments like work, family or school.

Another nice feature I noticed was they provide treatment referrals. Before starting treatment, you’ll complete a substance use assessment to determine the best level of care for your situation. If outpatient isn’t a good fit then they can connect you to one of their residential programs with gender-specific and specialized approaches.

Many previous clients felt their services were beneficial. Some mentioned an exceptional staff with unwavering support and encouragement in reaching their recovery goals. As always, research and consider multiple facilities to find the best fit.

DO NOT GO HERE! IT IS A BIG MISTAKE IF YOU ARE COURT ORDERED! THEY WILL GIVE A BIASED REPORT TO THE COURTS. I AM SOBER AND THEY KICKED ME OUT This is the worst outpatient program ever. Run! Do not make the same mistake I made. I stayed sober after inpatient treatment, and I am still sober. After discharging from inpatient treatment I was court ordered to get the alcohol monitoring device within 24 hours. So that was my 1st priority, I didn't attend the 1st day because I had to take the bus from. ST Cloud to St Paul. I went the wrong direction and I didn't get there in time so the next day I had to miss group again. I figured it would be an excused absence. Then it was Thanksgiving day so group was supposed to start on Monday. I was doing it through Zoom, and the councilor logged me off of group for not having my camera on. She told me she messaged me 2X. I never received a message. Then the next 3 hours I tried and tried to get back in. I was emailing technical support but nothing worked. Then the next day I ran out of phone time but I was ready to start 1.5 hours later. But again I could not get logged in. Turns out she kicks me out of the program. I was supposed to move into this great sober house in Rochester that very day. But she tells my PO that I did an intake on Nov 20th. Which is true but she made it sound like I have not gone to group since that day. When I actually got out of treatment on Nov 24th and I didn't make it to my mom's until 7pm. T She purposely didn't call me or answer my emails the entire day. But she tells my PO that she could get me into inpatient TX again. But she doesn't call me until 2:00. And then she has to let me go as soon as I bring up getting me into another program. .y PO told me he would give me until the end of the day. She never called me back. And she didn't try to help me and she made me sound as bad as she could. Completely biased report on what actually happened. I am sure most of you are court ordered to attend some program. But don't go here. They will screw up any chance you have at success. And trust me you have little to no say in anything. All the courts care about is what they say. DON'T RISK IT BY GOING HERE!! IT'S A HUGE MISTAKE!!

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Completing a drug or alcohol rehab program shouldn't spell the end of substance abuse treatment. Aftercare involves making a sustainable plan for recovery, including ongoing support. This can include sober living arrangements like halfway houses, career counseling, and setting a patient up with community programs like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) or Narcotics Anonymous (NA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug addiction is defined as an inability to stop using drugs even though it causes negative consequences in your life. Drug rehab in Minnesota provides treatment for drug addiction in a variety of settings including inpatient treatment and outpatient treatment.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Motivational Interviewing (MI) is a clinical approach to helping people with substance abuse issues and other conditions shift behavior in positive ways. It is more goal-oriented than traditional psychotherapy, as MI counselors directly attempt to get clients to consider making behavioral change (rather than wait for them to come to conclusions themselves). Its primary purpose is to resolve ambivalence and help clients become able to make healthy choices freely.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.
