About Oxford House – Closed
Oxford House was located on Main Street in Rock Hill, South Carolina, but is now permanently closed. They were located in a mixed residential and commercial community, near the Main Street Children’s Museum.
They provided limited onsite parking with access to street parking. They offered you substance-free living in a privately run, home-like facility in the heart of Rock Hill, SC.
Transitional Housing for Peer-Supported Sober Living
This facility was designed for individuals who had just completed treatment and were looking for a peer-run program to support their new sober living lifestyle. It was also intended to help them prepare for independent living in a safe and comfortable environment.
No Access to Treatment, Only Peer-Supported Meetings
Oxford did not provide access to treatment or medication; however, they encouraged those who needed to continue with therapy and a medication regimen to continue to do so with outside resources.
As it was a substance free living environment, residents were expected to maintain their sobriety while living at Oxford. However, Oxford may have assisted you with seeking additional treatment from outside medical facilities if you had experienced a relapse or needed additional assistance in maintaining your sobriety.
Transitional Housing Option for Those Leaving Correction Facilities
The facility was also designed to support those who had completed time in a correctional facility. They would work with you to ensure you remain in touch with your court-mandated representatives to ensure they are aware of your situation and your continued efforts to maintain your sobriety.
They did provide peer support groups to help you work through the challenges you faced during your addiction, as well as any temptations you continue to face during your sobriety. They would also help you address any trauma you may still have been concerned about or that you may have not addressed while experiencing addiction.
However, their support groups were not a substitute for therapy and were intended to only provide peer support during your sobriety transition.

Levels of Care
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
Treatments
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
Clinical Services
Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.
In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
