About Recovery Centers of America at Indianapolis

Recovery Centers of America at Indianapolis is a comprehensive addiction treatment facility for adults in Indianapolis, Indiana. They offer services for every point in your recovery journey, including detox, medication assisted treatment, residential treatment and outpatient treatment. There’s also an active alumni association you can join to maintain your progress once you finish your program. They accept most major insurance providers and offer flexible payment plans.

Their services help you explore the root of your substance abuse so you can understand more about what drives you to use drugs or alcohol. They use evidence based treatments including individual, group, and family therapy, spiritual counseling, peer support groups, and 12 Step programming. If you’re in the outpatient program, you can attend your sessions in person or online. Their inpatient program includes round the clock care and monitoring services.

One thing that I found interesting about this facility is their robust aftercare program. They’ll make sure your path to recovery doesn’t end when you leave their facility. They’ll link you to recovery groups, local sober events and community service opportunities to keep you connected. Program alumni also lead a popular recovery focused podcast.

Former clients call this facility life changing. They say the environment is welcoming and safe and note that the alumni group is a great way to plug into the community.

It is the worst rehabilitation center I've ever been at. The staff is nice but the management is not good it's not organized it's very inconsistent they thrive on rehabilitation but yet they don't want to rehabilitate you I will be calling my insurance on this issue because I don't feel like they helped my situation at all they're slow when it comes to getting medication they have a lot of setbacks to therapists are amazing yes some of the facilitators are wonderful but there are some that aren't so wonderful a lot of lgbtq no offense and there was a lot of racism going on there if you are the wrong color you don't get extra food at dinner or lunch if you're the right color you get extra food at dinner and lunch and they treat you better if you they don't appreciate their patients you're just a number a paycheck and when I chose to leave they didn't give me all of my belongings the bags that I came with I've been left with a pillowcase that they sent me out with not my bag that I came in with Ryan personally he is a micromanager and I really think corporate needs to pay attention to what's going on in this facility there are a lot ofthere are a lot of negative things that can be said about this place and I could say so much more the facility is not clean and I just I'm not very happy with it and I will be like I said calling my insurance to let them know that I don't feel like they helped me the way they should have you're treated like a prisoner not like a patient not like a person you're treated like a incarcerated being coralled like you are cattle. They take away our smoke breaks.

Accepted Insurance

Recovery Centers of America at Indianapolis works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements. Linden Oaks' Residential Stay Program offers additional support for those who may benefit from a structured living environment. A patient's stay may vary from a few days to 30 days ago. The program includes group, family and individual counseling.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient programs are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs. The Intensive Outpatient Program gives patients the chance to participate in a structured treatment plan part-time while they transition back to home and work or other responsibilities. This program provides half-day treatment (Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:15 am to 12:30 pm).
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Clients receiving support in a rehab aftercare program have completed inpatient care and may also be preparing to exit formal outpatient care. Outpatient services are typically categorized as rehab aftercare, but these services often continue beyond the cessation of formal treatment. Rehab aftercare services are designed to promote life-long recovery through comprehensive, wraparound care, which may include medical, mental health, and social services. These programs are usually created in collaboration with the client's case manager and care team.
12-step icon12-Step
12 step programs foster participants' long-term sobriety through personal growth rooted in spiritual principles, though religious affiliation is not mandatory. Most 12 step meetings are non-denominational but are based on the belief in a higher power. Participants learn to understand and address the causes of their addiction, accept responsibility for their choices, and relinquish control for that which cannot be changed. Regular group meetings and mentoring by a self-selected sponsor are required.
heart-hands iconIntervention Services
When families plan a drug intervention in Indiana, the goal is to create self-awareness in their loved one, so they acknowledge the need for treatment and get help. A professional interventionist can work with the individual's family members to organize this intervention and provide direction for follow-up. During the intervention, loved ones share how the individual's substance abuse has affected them, and the interventionist adds a clinical perspective on how treatment can help the situation.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
When removing addictive substances from your body under the care of licensed medical professionals, the process is called medically assisted detox. Once you've become physically dependent on substances like alcohol, opioids, or benzodiazepines, quitting can be uncomfortable or even dangerous. To minimize risks to your health and overall discomfort, a team of medical professionals monitors you 24/7 and provides medications if necessary (like Suboxone or methadone) to ease potential symptoms of withdrawal.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Group therapy provides a unique experience for men and women to encounter a supportive environment where you can share your experiences and gain insight from your peers who understand your struggles. Group therapy improves your journey and helps promote sustainable recovery.

Qualified therapists in Indiana use a customized treatment approach for individual therapy to address your drug and alcohol addiction treatment. This considers your past history and life circumstances to help you uncover the underlying issues that trigger addictive behavior and manage these factors to support a healthy approach to recovery.

The goal of family therapy in Indiana is to empower family members to effectively support their loved one's recovery. Therapists work with family members to develop the skills needed to manage stress and resolve conflicts successfully. This fosters a positive environment that is conducive to long term sobriety.

This was my second time going to RCA and the experience was again eye opening. I graduated the program. I shared with many others relearned and new skills I learned while in their program which has taken my recovery to the next level. Again I am now applying the spiritual principles of the 12 step program in the order they are suggested that my relationship with my higher power is 1st, my sobriety comes 2nd and everything else will manifest in due time. I now once again actively practice the 12 steps in all of my affairs, and have relearned to place my spiritual principles over others personalities. Today I share my experience of faith strength and hope with as many others as I can in hopes that my testimony will have a positive spiritual impact on their lives and encourage them to make a call that can save or improve their lives. Remember you are not alone and RCA is a great place to find the resources and tools you need to overcome any demonic spiritual attacks on your mind and flesh and you will find the faith, strength, and hope to correct any defects in your character that you may have and RCA offers a safe and healthy and conducive environment for recovery to achieve your personal goal of being the best version of yourself that you can become. You can do this and they will help you along the way!

I was admitted to RCA in December 2022 not knowing what to expect. It was my first time there for the 30 day treatment program. I was amazed at the wonderful experience I had. The staff were very professional and caring. I could open up and felt comfortable sharing with all the staff my struggles and concerns regarding my mental health and addiction. From housekeeping, food service, RSA’s to the Dr’s I felt like everyone was on the same page and a part of my recovery. I would definitely recommend RCA to anyone seeking help. Thanks to each and everyone of you who has been a part of my recovery. Teresa K

RCA is trying to double dip me on my bill. Told me I’d have to pay $2500. 18 months later after paying that……they want $3500 more. Even after telling me I had a zero balance. Looks like they’re pulling similar scams to the RCCA out in Mass. Can’t get anyone to call me back and no one answers the phone. 10 months later I still have not received a call. Just got a call from a collection agency though. This place is a total scam. Do not use this place. They will ruin your credit.

I would recommend RCA to the people that are ready for a different experience to rehab. While I was there my experience was a bit mind blowing, most for the staff are recovery success stories so they've been there and absolutely can relate and share what they did for their sobriety. It never really felt like I was doing a rehab stay but more of like minded people trying to figure out what to do next and how to survive the future days, to succeed. I have to give a massive shout out to the staff for helping me out above and beyond with the high highs and low lows of becoming sober! They do way more for the residents than their job requires of them. The staff genuinely want to see you succeed. RSS Jacqueline (Jackie) deserves her own praise for going above and beyond for me and helping to convince me to stay during a low time. I strongly feel that i wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for her help. Same goes for RSS Naiomi! They have no idea how the little things went so far for me. They Alumni program is that much more amazing and supportive! They online and in person meetings and sober events that they provide is nothing like I could have imagined. Huge shout out to Rebecca! Her upbeat and supportive personality is always the highlight of every event. She goes above and beyond to help, even after hours just to help someone in need. She makes everyone feel wanted and heard even if they don't think they need to be because life has a grip on their mental. The community with the Alumni program is super supportive as a whole and in one on one scenarios. There has never been any shame in not knowing how to navigate sobriety or the next step. just supportive information of what they've done to navigate through their journey. It definitely feels more like the supportive family that a lot of us unconsciously crave. No shame and all love! Even if you fall off track mentally or relapse they are there to help you get up and become a success story! 72 days sober and counting! One day at a time and I amd genuinely excited for the future again! All thanks to RCA!

My father went here for a night on his own accord, they let him fall (note he has a very bad spinal cord injury) and reused to help him clean up an accident he had because they had made him drink so much water. When he tried to get released after one night of not being shown a single bit of compassion, his ride (my step mother) was told that they had never heard of him and he was never there, while he was sitting and waiting for her to show up. He came home with a bag of urine soaked clothes and several brusies on his head. Do not ever let your loved ones go here. The only good thing about this place was the oranges, the pond, and the fact that you could take smoke breaks.

Went here in October 2024 and went back recently to celebrate recovery with other members of the RCA alumni. We painted pottery and it was a great time connecting with new people and old friends I went with. Hope to attend more alumni events in the future and stay connected.
