The MRT, sober school, and weekly house meetings is the core of the program. Over the year that I’ve been here I have been graced to know a lot of people. I saw what worked and what didn’t. This program brought me to multiple different meetings of recovery also. In the past this may have been a different program but as it sits with me it has been directly responsible for equipping me with the tools to START a lifetime of recovery though I will have to continuously upkeep my recovery in order to make it successful but this program is a great start. It’s a nine month program but I was able to stay longer because I don’t feel quite ready to leave. It afforded me the opportunity to continue to help new people coming in and improve my own abilities. I am now coming up on one year and I can confidently say the effort is not only proportional of my own work but the thought and attention of the program that is a living organism- growing and developing when required. It’s not a stationary object never to be changed. It’s being built on continuously through a team of kind compassionate and knowledgeable folks that are open minded and willing to review things that may no longer work or might work better.

This would be my second time at river bend , When faced with the decision on which place I would seek treatment at , The only place I truly knew I would get help at was river bend . The staff there are so kind and respectful. They truly understand that no one wants to be there so they do their best to make it a better experience for everyone. I spent Easter at river bend and I am so thankful for the staff who truly cared and found ways to make the day a good one. Shout out to Corey for always be a good staff and making my experience at river bend a positive one and to Mindy (not sure how to spell names) for being an awesome staff and hiding Easter eggs for us and of course Ali for being an excellent nurse and advocating for me! Huge stepping stone for my life. I’ve been to a lot of places in my history of addiction/recovery and this was the one place I actually felt like I was equal. The staff go above and beyond for legit anything you need or struggle with. I never once felt alone. Most places and people in recovery are there for a paycheck, this place? The absolute opposite. Dawg this was one of the scariest yet BEST decisions I made for my recovery journey as well as myself. The love and care is endless.

So I just want to start off by stating that this facility changed my life drastically and saved my butt! Quite literally. I came to FCRC a scared, shaking, & shy woman. I was a kid on the inside.
Mr. Jeff & Savannah saved me from myself AT LEAST 3 times from trying to walk out on my recovery because of issues on the outside (life continues even though we go to treatment, ya know). When I tell you I have never met a team of such caring loving & HONEST staff? I hadn’t until I walked into this facility. I graduated yesterday, with 44 days today under my belt. I had hopped on a plane from Houston TX not knowing anything but my Higher Power did. I am so beyond grateful to First City and their peeps. All the way from the Detox experience to my PHP part of my program, everyone was helpful and so kind. And that level of care? Hard to find. Aye, shout out to Bobby in PHP & IOP, that’s my boy!!! RCA,RCA! Where do I begin? So I graduated the program in January of 2025 and the facility offered me great skills to help to stay sober and therapy while there.
After leaving the Alumni coordinator always checked in monthly and I ended up at alumni events such as speaker events and even a Halloween event at Hogan Farms. I’d recommend this recovery network to anyone seeking a safe and reliable sober community!

From the moment I arrived, all Staff and other participants have been welcoming and supportive of helping each other out. From the moment I arrived, all Staff and other participants have been welcoming and supportive of helping each other out. Groups have been great and everyone works together to create a safe environment to work on bettering ourselves. Staff have been very knowledgeable and supportive. I’d highly recommend this place!

The lodge has an incredible staff of counselors and techs that absolutely cares about your recovery in a woodsy and relaxing environment that has access to a gym and 24 hour availability to people who can help with any issue that you might be having with recovery and access to food 24 hours a day ( so watch the belt line ) . Although the schedule is demanding they have a way of making seem that it is not over bearing ... They changed and saved my life and I know the staff can do the same for you if you want it ... Just absolutely incredible place to start a new way of life. Wonderful, involved staff and Alumni. Weekly alumni meeting so you can stay involved afterwards. Nothing but great things to say. This IS the best place to go for Residential Treatment. No comparisons. If your insurance isn’t accepted, or you don’t have option to self pay, Fairbanks residential is a great program as well. I've had nothing but the upmost positive experience here. Every Dr I've seen has been so kind and caring with my son. They have done nothing but help us with the struggles and questions and have helped with answering them. They have nothing but respect and admiration from me and my son.
