Before Hickory I’ve never experienced any sort of rehabilitation. In ANY aspect of my life. I was WRECKED. So my expectations were very “surfaced”. The tools and practices the staff, therapists, BHT’s and even the front desk and office staff provide go beyond just the addiction part. Even when some of us are at our absolute lowest and have lost sight of everything and everyone else…. It’s impossible, even then to lose sight of someone making us feel GENUINELY cared about. I’ll always remember the time we spent together Hickory!!! All 3 times of them.

I have and will continue to recommend Hickory House to people that are struggling with addiction because of what they have done and meant to me in my life. I first went to Selah in January of 2023 and then had to return for extra support this past June. In the 2.5 years between my two stays, I saw a lot of changes and improvements made. My first stay was great, but this second time was even better. The clinical team truly cares about me as a person and were always listening to my needs and striving to meet them. The after-care coordinator, Christi, works so hard to make sure clients are set up for success post leaving Selah House. Hello! I decided to come to Selah House after struggling with my ED for several years. My rock bottom was ER trip after a night out drinking. I was in denial about my ED. I came to Selah in denial about even having one. Selah did save me though; they made me realize how much I was hurting but what I could do to help myself. I got to choose my recovery. I had the choice to get better or to sit in my own misery. I loved that I was given the choice. I really felt like I was a member of my own team, that I got a say in what happened to ME. I can say now that I have made recovery driven choices. As I leave, I’m scared, but I’ve also been given the resources to continue to heal. This wasn’t a fix-all, but a perfect way to start the journey that is recovery from ED.

The staff is very friendly and supportive in your recovery journey. The group facilitators are highly educated and always discuss very relevant information in group about recovery. The food is also really good, big shout out to the guys that cooked for all of us here at RVI. They also have many recreational activities such as ping pong, basketball, and a gym. Great place to rest and focus on your sobriety. I highly recommend this place to somebody who is trying to get sober.

My experience from the moment I walked through the front door to begin my journey toward my goal of sobriety was nothing short of amazing. Their entire staff "SEES" you." They "HEAR" you. They want the very best for you. For your journey. It was my first and prayerfully the only time. I left better equipped to identify things that are detrimental to my whole well being. The lodge has an incredible staff of counselors and techs that absolutely cares about your recovery in a woodsy and relaxing environment that has access to a gym and 24 hour availability to people who can help with any issue that you might be having with recovery and access to food 24 hours a day ( so watch the belt line ) . Although the schedule is demanding they have a way of making seem that it is not over bearing ... They changed and saved my life and I know the staff can do the same for you if you want it ... I love what the Harbor Light Center is doing for our community! I know several people who have gone through this program and they have been transformed by the incredible love and care they received there. This is a top-notch detox and addiction treatment program and it shows. Harbor Light welcomes anyone - no matter what their background is or how many times they've been through recovery. The staff doesn't give up on anyone! Everyone says that the big difference between The Salvation Army's program and the others they'd experienced was how faith became a part of their recovery for the first time. Stayed at this places for 4 months and will never forgot it. Unfortunately everyone in there with me that I had numbers from has relapsed and died from Heroin. I had no want to get clean, just tried to get my mother off my back. This was in 2012. November 15th 2017 I wanted it for myself. Went to a place here locally with a bag of clothes and a moped. Worked the steps. Went to 12-14 meetings a week (no joke) fell in love with recovery. After looking back, I seen some great people there. The counselor Sid really seemed to care and told it how it was. Wish I would’ve got it together then but God had different plans. I now have bought my own house, have my license and 3 different cars. Bought more property to make my yard bigger and build a new house on. Everything in my life has gotten better doing the next right thing. Getting married in October. Wish I would’ve done more step work but I eventually got it done. Much love ya’ll. A lot of them called me Big Country or Flacco. I guess it means white not in Spanish? lol I had a lot of fun and Holy Spirit interactions at this place

This place is great! I was in Community Fairbanks for 28 days. They got me up early, on a schedule, groups were great and so was the food. I miss their breakfast! The staff is excellent; specifically Kyle and Cathy. Plenty of smoke breaks. They set me up with SLP (Sober Living.) I’m looking at volunteering. I feel the need to give back. Overall a great experience!

I do not have a single bad thing to say about Fairbanks. If you have both your feet into getting sober this is the place for you. Their staff is extremely professional and compassionate. They bend over backwards to take care of you. I’ve struggled with sobriety for years and my third time going to Fairbanks on July 3, 2025, it all finally clicked. Currently at the moment I have 47 days sober and then in the process of completing the IOP program And I feel better now than I ever have when I was drinking. I would honestly recommend this place to anybody that is serious about getting clean.

I've been a patient here for over 6 years and have had some issues here and there but it took me a while to realize how much this place cares about their patients. They have been there for me through everything and never gave up on me or kicked me out of therapy for my behavior, which is improving thanks to my new treatment plan with Dr. Patrick Z. I realize that mental health therapy takes time and not everything is going to work right off the bat. Maybe its a breakthrough i've had while in treatment, or maybe it's me finally growing up. If you're willing to be patient and put the time and effort into your therapy, you'll get alot farther than you would just by taking pills and calling it a day. I'll always recommend this place! Thanks guys
