This place is horrible at communicating with families. I called to get a better understanding of the program and express some concerns after my husband arrived. They told me someone would be in contact by the next morning because it was later in the evening. It took me calling five times in FOUR days just to get some questions answered. I didn't even need personal details, just general program questions. Then I called a few days later to get an update on my husband because he was so drugged up every time I talked to him, he didn't even know what was going on. They told me someone would call me back within an hour or so. They never called me back. Instead of talking to me and reassuring me or even just treating me as a concerned wife and updating me, they told my husband to call me and tell me to stop calling. They have absolutely no family support as far as I can tell. I have worked in inpatient rehab myself and we would never treat family like this. The family has a right to be concerned. They have a right to ask questions and receive compassion. I'm literally astounded at the disrespectful nature I've been treated with. Once I expressed my concerns to my husband's counselor, Lexi, she told me she would be taking the information to their team. Did she get back to me so I knew what they were doing or what was being considered? Of course not. Because that requires compassion and understanding. And I guess I don't matter since I'm not at their facility. This facility is completely inappropriate for my husband's issues and I feel they either don't understand people with both substance use, behavioral addictions, and mental health issues or they just don't care. He absolutely needs to be transferred to a different facility. My husband is willing to go to a place more appropriate for him but he's hesitant because he's getting comfortable and of course they fed his addiction with excessive detox meds so his brain can't even clear long enough to make good choices. Instead of encouraging him to do what's truly best for him (and protecting other clients because of my husband's particular issues), they would rather keep him there to have a body in a bed so they can collect the insurance money. I am very disappointed in their detox program as well. It's not a standard medical detox. It's beyond EXCESSIVE. My husband had a 3 week relepse and when he got there, they gave him so much medication that he was even more high than before he went. He could barely speak. At that point, I have to wonder if they're medicating people for their own comfort to not have to deal with them. I also reached out and spoke to others that have been here recently and they said they felt like the medications given in detox were too much and not appropriate for what they were withdrawing from. I additionally heard rom other clients of remedy that there's a very loose policy regarding fraternization. Their "policy" is that men and women aren't supposed to sit close to each other, swin together, etc. However, they do not reinforce this. According to one former client, she was swimming when one of the men jumped in the pool near her and staff just said "well you're not supposed to be in there together but whatever" and they did nothing and walked away. What a great opportunity to fraternize, or worse be assaulted! Another client observed men and women going into the same bathroom together and apparently everyone knew they were "hooking up" and staff just didn't care. If you have a significant other that you want to really focus on their recovery, especially if they have issues with looking for attention from the opposite sex, this is not the place for them. I am sure that there are some caring people here (at least towards the clients, not so much with family), and they probably have a decent program. But none of that matters if they are not willing to do what's best for their clients, strictly enforce rules, more separation of men and women, and be considerate of the damaged relationships and hurting spouses that are waiting for their loved ones.

my best friend was only at remedy for a month but during her stay she was consistently put through trauma and turmoil everyday some of which would include staff verbally berating her or bullying her to being denied the proper amount of calories in her diet she would also be consistently denied medication prescribed to her by her doctor because remedy didn’t allow her to take it she was also forbidden from using painkillers prescribed by her dentist after having surgery and remedy forced her to deal with the pain and only proved her tylenol for relief even after she asked for her prescribed medication. remedy also wants you to believe they’re a voluntary treatment center when in reality if you try to leave on your own terms even if you’re healthy they will do everything in their power to make you sound mentally unwell so they can baker act you remedy is not a place where you can expect to get help remedy does not care about you a they only care about your money if you want genuine help it’s in your best interest to find somewhere else.

Remedy Therapy Behavioral Health works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Intensive outpatient programs (IOP) involve frequent and robust therapeutic sessions for clients requiring high-level care. Clients may engage in a combination of medication assisted treatment (MAT), addiction counseling, recovery skills training, and holistic therapies for a minimum of nine and a maximum of 20 hours per week. Intensive outpatient rehab is designed primarily for persons in early recovery, those exiting detox or inpatient care, and those at an elevated relapse risk.

Often referred to as "day treatment," a partial hospitalization program (PHP) offers an intensive treatment option that allows individuals to return home at night. PHP treatment typically requires a minimum of 20 hours a week for an average of 90 days. Participants attend daily therapeutic sessions, receive medication management, and have access to skilled medical professionals. While costs can vary, most insurance will fully or partially cover a partial hospitalization program.

Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal. The length of stay at the detoxification program is determined according to the specific needs of the patient.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Florida provides quality treatment to help individuals overcome dependency related to a wide range of addictive substances. Programs address both the physical and mental aspects of addiction in order to help you make a full recovery.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

In Florida, substance abuse treatment focuses on treating mental health and substance use disorders concurrently to improve recovery outcomes and overall health. Levels of care include medical detox, outpatient, residential treatment, and intensive outpatient programs. Clinicians utilize evidence-based therapies such as dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) or medication-assisted treatment, group therapy, and skills training activities. This comprehensive approach to treatment helps to ensure sustained recovery.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

As a short term therapeutic method, motivational interviewing in Florida requires only a couple of sessions. During these sessions, you'll have the opportunity to talk about your circumstances and any discrepancies between your current situation and future goals. You'll then decide for yourself what changes you want to make.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

During couples therapy in Florida, your therapist will take steps to get to know you, help you identify feelings, explore the past, develop solutions, and help you learn skills to manage relationship challenges. This process will allow you to work through conflict and strengthen your relationship.

During family therapy sessions, you navigate the complexities of addiction and are provided tools to help improve communication and resolve conflicts. When you work together, families can better support their loved one's recovery and restore balance and harmony within the household.
