18 months ago, I put my son on a plane to an HIA house in another state. He had already been in a couple of other programs, but nothing had helped. He had dropped out of college, couldn't hold a job, became homeless, and had seriously damaged all his friends and family relationships. He was met at the airport by an HIA staff member. He worked the program and opened himself up to what could be. The change has truly been radical. He is now the program manager at that location, loves life, and I have my son back in my life. The first photo is the night before I put him on the plane. He had been on a 5-day bender. The second photo was from a few weeks ago speaking to a group of community organizations about HIA.
