I have not been at Recovery U in over a year now. And did not leave on good terms, but I will say that the program is a success for those who will let it be. In just a couple weeks I will have 3 years clean and sober and that is partly do to the help I received at Recovery U. Linda and Bill are great people and had great staff working for them when I was there. And the guys in the program were amazing. Thanks for everything Linda and Bill. Hope all is well

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehabs support clients' long-term recovery through a robust continuum of care aligned with clients' evolving needs. Many programs feature transitional services for clients stepping down from intensive inpatient care. Ambulatory medical detox is also available in some outpatient facilities for clients at low risk for withdrawal complications. Outpatient treatment centers typically encompass multiple levels of care, including partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), supportive housing, and standard outpatient programming.

inpatient iconInpatient

Clients undergoing treatment at an inpatient rehab receive intensive clinical supervision and robust therapeutic support. Clients remain at the facility for the duration of their program, allowing them to focus on their recovery free of outside distractions, stressors, and triggers. Most inpatient programs offer addiction counseling as their primary treatment modality. This often includes group and family therapy in addition to individual counseling. Many centers also provide complementary therapies and recovery-focused life skills training.

12-step icon12-Step

Participants in 12 step programs receive ongoing peer support while cultivating recovery-focused life skills. They engage in frequent, sometimes daily, 12 step meetings, which are anonymous, free, peer-led, and available day and night in most communities. Self-selected sponsors offer one-on-one mentoring throughout the recovery journey. This model invokes spiritual principles to encourage self-awareness, forgiveness, accountability, and acceptance in persons pursuing recovery. Specialized formatting is common, including programs for teens, seniors, and family members.

medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox

If you have become physically dependent on drugs or alcohol, quitting abruptly can cause withdrawal symptoms like anxiety, headaches, flu-like symptoms, and more. In severe cases, these withdrawal symptoms can even be dangerous. In medically assisted detox, a team of licensed professionals will monitor your vitals, provide medication if needed, and help keep you as safe and comfortable as possible during this process.

Clinical Services

People in West Virginia seeking drug and alcohol addiction treatment usually undergo one on one individual therapy. This gives you a safe and supportive environment to explore issues with substance use and any co occurring mental health conditions. Your therapist offers individualized support to help you build resilience and work toward achieving long term sobriety.

Within a group therapy session, men and women in West Virginia can see successful recovery behaviors modeled by their peers. This provides inspiration and practical examples of coping skills that manage addiction in the community. Ultimately, this promotes sobriety and helps you attain sustainable recovery.

Recovery u has helped turn my life completely around. 8 months ago when I came here I only had a bag full of clothes and no direction in life. Recovery U and there wonderful staff has helped me get the counceling I need, help me find motivation, and taught me about being accountable for my own actions. Since being here I have got my I.D., I have got a job, and climbed into the ranks of management there, and now I'll be moving into my own house in a couple of days. I couldn't have asked for a more caring and very supportive recovery center. I recommend this for anyone in addiction who wants to break the cycle.

Response from the owner
We're very proud of you Nathan!!

February 28th makes 7 months that I've been here at Recovery U. This place has been a blessing to me and without the chance to come here I don't know where I would be. The resources and opportunities that "The U" has to offer are countless. Recovery U has given me my life back and I am very grateful to be a part of the community here. Thank you Bill, Linda, and all the staff that have helped me make my recovery a reality.

As a 22 year convicted felon, drug addict, alcoholic I now find myself as a man who is well respected, who puts others needs first, who has an opportunity to not only succeed in life, but to help others along their path of recovery, the curriculum and staff are designed for men to lead their families, and society in a forward, positive direction, this program has helped me find a career in a more rewarding fashion, there is an old saying that reflects recovery U 100%.Give a man a fish he will eat for a day, teach a man to fish he will eat the rest of his life, Thank you Recovery U, this man will eat the rest of his life.........

Response from the owner
Sam you did the work yourself. We're so proud of you!!

I have been a resident at RecoveryU for just over two months now, and I can personally say that staff, the owners and even other residents here regularly go above and beyond the normal duties asked of them. If anyone has any issues with anybody here or this business in general I feel that it is more than likely from a previous resident who was not committed to their personal recovery and was removed from the program or left of their own free will. Either way, if someone isn't happy with the treatment process here, they shouldn't let their negativity sway someone else from coming here to receive the help they may desperately need. Thank you Linda, Bill and everyone else at the U for everything that you do on a daily basis.

Response from the owner
Thank you Jesse, men like you are why we do this job!

The program staff is caring and helpful, the owners on the other hand are crooks the commit fraud all the time if your getting clean the people who are supposed to be leading your way should not be committing criminal acts

Response from the owner
Recovery U has never committed any form of fraud and hold ourselves and staff to the highest ethical standards. I am a Social Worker who fights for injustice and ethics on all levels. Every part of every thing we do is subject to audit which we welcome at all times. We meet with our staff weekly for trainings and updates on all residents and have invested our own money out of pocket in this program for two years with zero profit. I welcome you to give your real name and give specifics of any fraudulent acts you are aware of or witnessed. Perhaps you are a former resident who was asked to leave for using drugs and relapsing and are angry? I would genuinely love to hear all of your concerns and complaints. My husband and I are the owners and you can reach us at anytime at 304-553-2034 or 304-951-3156. We run an excellent program and have many many graduates who regularly tell us that our program saved their life. I pray that whatever bitterness you hold against this organization and us will be properly explained and not simply throw the word fraud out there because you, for whatever reason, are disgruntled. I have a feeling, due to the time in which you posted this, that this is the same person who emailed the health dept with ridiculous lies and also did not leave a real name.
