About Total Family Support Clinic
The Total Family Support Clinic in Sylmar, California was a non profit community based social service agency. Adults and youth could come for treatment that addressed substance use, personal development, and well being. The facility is now closed.
Services were offered by staff who were bicultural and bilingual. Clients were not turned away because of their inability to pay. Certain programs offered transportation to and from the clinic.
Substance Use Treatments and Groups
The clinic offered outpatient substance abuse treatment, drug and alcohol testing services, treatment for substance use with co occurring mental health disorders, and smoking cessation services. Unique programs included the youth LGBTQ+ program, youth gang intervention and prevention, and the perinatal program.
Substance abuse treatment groups were available to youth and adults. Anger management and domestic violence programs were offered too.
Volunteers Made a Difference in the Community
Community members were able to volunteer to help with certain services. Volunteers were chosen to help make a difference in the field of substance use treatment. They could also conduct workshops and be guest speakers who shared their experiences with substance abuse.
