About Community Reach Center – Weekend Walk in

The Community Reach Center’s Weekend Walk-in clinic in Thornton, Colorado is CARF accredited and is a member of CBHC, the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, and Progressive Health Options. Medicaid and a select few commercial insurances are accepted. A sliding fee scale is available if you qualify as well to make your treatment affordable.

This is an outpatient center that accepts walk-ins Monday and Tuesday mornings in addition to regular clinic hours by appointment. They treat mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and dual diagnosis.

Flexible and Integrated Care for Addiction Recovery

All therapies are available as virtual or in-person sessions. You can receive a combination of individual therapy and group therapy along with family therapy. Therapy groups several times per day to accommodate client’s schedules.

Medical services are available here as well to manage medications, monitor health, and develop a care plan for treatment goals so that your mental health and physical health are treated together. They also offer peer support services so you’ll have guidance from people who have been in your shoes.

Extensive Care Management

The care management program here has two branches. Case management uses assessments to determine the need for medical, mental, behavioral, and functional community resources. Case managers can also do referrals and follow-ups.

The second branch, psychosocial rehabilitation, improves social skills for living in the community and develops self-care and home management skills. They also improve social and interpersonal interactions, develop effective coping strategies, and promote independence.

Positive Treatment but High Staff Turnover

Several clients have stated this facility has helped them overcome addiction or that they are pleased with the progress they are making. Other clients express frustration that employees frequently leave the facility, leaving the clients to be passed to new doctors and therapists regularly.

A transit stop by the facility is available for those using the transit system. The historic Westminster Castle is just a few miles from the facility, as is E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park near Webster Lake.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
medically-assisted-detox iconMedically Assisted Detox
Drug and alcohol addiction often takes a heavy toll on one's body. Over time, a physical dependence can develop, meaning the body physiologically needs the substance to function. Detox is the process of removing drugs and/or alcohol from the body, a process that can be lethal if mismanaged. Medical detox is done by licensed medical professionals who monitor vital signs and keep you safe, healthy, and as comfortable as possible as you go through detox and withdrawal.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Professional services are often necessary to recover from addiction. Drug rehab in Colorado provides the expert services needed to address the complex issues of addiction and help individuals start their recovery journey.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I'm surprised that such a bad clinic is still allowed to be open. The service they offer is horrible. They always bill things incorrectly and have a bad attitude when you try to complain.

Update: today was my first day I had an intake. Everyone at the front counter was very nice and polite. I met with two different people during the intake. They were really nice and polite. I really do feel they really wanna help me. They really do care about me and they really want to help my mental health and just help me in general and I’m very excited to start in this journey and it was really hard to talk about things that I’ve experienced, but I’m excited to now start diving Deep into myself internally spiritually mentally financially, and I know through taking the time to volunteer for therapy and to work on myself I’m excited to see what God my life and this company is going to do for me in every which way in my life and I’m just really excited to turn a new leaf over after months and months of calling doctors or seeing people and they said they can’t help me. I’m just excited to be able to start this journey now with Community outreach center! So after months and months of dealing with my doctors from Kaiser Permanente, my doctor actually told me to go to this facility because they would be able to help me since Kaiser Permanente is very strict so calling I just spoke with the lovely lady. Be aware of your coverage they have disclaimers about insurance failing, collectors being sent, and they are misinformed at what income is. Being told EBT would be used as a measure for recompensation in case of Medicare failure. Look online they say it is not income in traditional sense you can't go to the ATM and take out cash. It not something to look at as proof of income as it is not income. AMY N. THE RECEPTIONIST AT THIS LOCATION WILL SWEAR ON HER COMPANIES POLICY AND DENY BEING WRONG SAYING SHE IS FOLLOWS ORDERS. Refusing to state my income is not what I did I wrote zero as I saw her change my paperwork in front me. On top of her attitude the whole time.

Julie your peer counselor is the most amazing human. I have been going here since I was 12 years old and have had a hard time finding people in your community who actually want to help me. After losing Rachel and April I was scared of who I could be sent to. Knowing my previous issues with finding someone I connect with at your facility. Julie has made me feel so listen to and truly understands where I am coming from. GIVE HER A DAMN RAISE SO I DONT LOSE HER LIEK I LOST RACHEL OR APRIL!!

DO NOT WORK FOR THIS BUSINESS: BE AWARE- Community Reach Center has hired employees then chosen not to pay them after the work is completed. Employees Delaney Rumsey & her supervisor, Gabrielle Jablonski hired my art business, Exist Vibrantly Art, to work for them then after I completed the work they decided not to pay me for my time even though during our first recorded video planning meeting, a pay rate of $25/hour was established.

I contacted this facility and left multiple messages as well as went in person, completed the applications and waited weeks for a phone call to schedule my daughters. I'm so glad my children weren't self harming or trying to commit suicide or heaven forbid worse.

Called to set up an intake appointment and was confused about what coverage I had, but was met with attitude the entire time. Maybe don’t be rude to people who are trying to get help and have already struggled enough to get to the point of asking for help.
