This place was a pivotal part of my recovery journey. I was here twice, once in September 2019 and once in March 2023 (which was my last time in rehab). I ve been to several different rehabs all over the state and I ll say this:Brighton isn t the nicest facility, they don t have the best food, but Brighton has THE BEST therapy, therapist, and THERE is where you get some of the most one-on-one time with your therapist. I Was a patient here 5 years ago I started drinking at the age of 14 and got into other stuff at 19. I didn’t know how to live life without a buffer Brighton gave me the tools to begin the recovery process I am still clean and sober after a horrible detox from barbiturates and Suboxone, I am thankful and grateful everyday that I made the decision to call and ask Brighton for help. Best experience for recovery in the state in my opinion. Food is great, plenty of activities, outside time, basketball and other enjoyable options. The classes were amazingly enjoyable and informative. The staff and cooks were always helpful , kind. They offer AA or NA meetings. If you re struggling with any substance abuse you owe it to yourself to at least check them out. Don t hesitate to start your journey to sobriety. You ll thank yourself later.

I’ve been through 3 therapists at this clinic, they were very nice people. The service is great, the ladies at the desks are always kind and helpful.
Only things I would say is that sometimes the therapists go against your opinions and judgement and make you feel out of place or out of control. BUT all of my experiences here have been pleasant. Loved my past two therapists, Mattie DeBoe (no longer a therapist, moved to higher position) and Kelly anthi.
Compared to pine rests outpatient/inpatient care facility, this place is paradise. Their inpatient and outpatient facility has many many issues with the inpatient and resident facilities, the outpatient facilities are very helpful and welcoming, quite opposite of the inpatient.

Hopefully you don t have to go to the ER on Sunday, not because it s busy but apparently they forget to staff the hospitals on Sundays. Brought my dad in around 10:45 am, they ran 3 tests and said they are going to admit him to give him the urgent treatment he needs. As I type this it s 10:30pm still waiting to be admitted this is stupid. The ER had a few other patients for most the day. Staff has been friendly and professional but watching someone sit in a bed and suffer for 12 hours knowing we are at the place that is designed to help is kind of ridiculous.Edited this the next Sunday because my father is still here:I changed it from 1 to 4 stars. Once admitted the staff at the hospital was amazing. The nurses, nurses assistants and the doctors were all amazing. Nobody was rushed and they took amazing care of him.

My son has been sitting in the emergency room at Corewell since Sunday and the VA don’t even care. My son got so frustrated they jumped on him and drugged him. The VA isn’t worth a dam dime. He’s being beaten up and drugged waiting on a bed at the VA. Who ever is in charge of this need to step up or Almighty God will help you step down and put someone who’s in charge of helping VA with mental trouble. 1 year ago today I made the 5 hour one way drive in a blizzard to drop my love off. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. To drop him off in a parking lot and turn around and leave without him, broke my heart. But here we are 1 year later stronger than ever celebrating his sobriety thanks to the kindness and compassion from the staff at Bear River. They made everything as smooth as possible and we are forever grateful for the role they played in Joshua’s recovery. I would recommend them to anyone needing to make this very hard life change.
