I was fortunate to go to Skywood this year. I have been to another facility which I thought was pretty nice. I now know what a Great facility is. The campus alone is beautiful, the woods, the buildings, the trails. The staff are well rounded. Multiple styles of therapy, decades of personal experience all shared in multiple different classes, small groups, one on ones and community wide lessons. Great staff also keep the large campus and large community running. The food, entertainment and activities are constant. The large campus offers plenty of fresh air and room to roam. You are not trapped inside locked buildings. The community bonding in the afternoons and evenings makes for an easy environment to get sober and learn about your sobriety. I would hands down recommend Skywood to anyone who is serious about doing the work and getting sober.

This place is amazing!!! The entire staff of therapists are very knowledgeable and each bring something different to your recovery journey. As others have stated in the reviews, they truly changed my life and how I view my recovery. I cannot endorse and suggest this outpatient more. I’ve attended other IOP’s, but this facility is simple the best! I didn’t attend their inpatient, but I heard from my peers that it is also top notch. Maybe you’re in the same shoes. Stay at an absolute bare minimum a week, it then gets much easier to claw your way to 30 days. Embrace the LOVE you can find on here. Be honest and unashamed. Say what you think, what you’re going through, but more importantly LISTEN, be open-minded – that’s how to get the most out of your time here.
The place is not bad/fine/good. You have a clean room, bed, and facility, showers. Some of these other reviews mention amazing food: this is no five star hotel. What do you expect?
For the staff, some have a little more patience and empathy than others, you can pretty quickly pick out who’s been ‘through it’ and who hasn’t. Advocate for yourself respectfully and you will be heard, everyone I’ve ever met there has been only focused on helping. But man… Be KIND. Kind and respectful and I promise you will get nothing but the same back.
It’s not gonna be for everyone, that’s your call. Some of it is tough love, but that’s how recovery works. If you want help you can find it here.

Bear River saved my life, being able to not only recover and learn in such a professional and comfortable environment was outstanding. The main campus/hotel place is phenomenal and the staff was genuinely some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. This place is great, getting sober is not easy or fun and the only issue I have personally witnessed is that yes; all of thier staff cannot be in recovery or understand us addicts but they truly have made a huge effort to adapt to this new age in which you can get into a rehab basically for free, get decent if not really good food(DFD) and have the chance to.btreak old bad habits etc. Im 39 and when I first tried to get sober at 18 or so it was incredibly difficult to find a rehab that didn’t cost 40K. Jail or the streets were your option so remember that these people are getting paid very little yet choose to work here because most of them do care but there are thinhs called HIPPA laws etc and so that takes a toll on certain aspects of how they have to structure thier program. This place and ann arbor will keep you sober and help you recover for better or worse.

Well I’ve been using fetty over 10 years I’ve been on methadone for 2 years I still use fetty once in a while well maybe now about 2 times a week sometimes more I’ve really tried to kick it all I just want off of everything I’m desperate I’d like to no more about how this procedure goes because I see skit of people say it hurts an that it’s rough well isn’t being door sick the same thing so it makes me wonder what would be the point if your still going to feel bad ? This place was a pivotal part of my recovery journey. I was here twice, once in September 2019 and once in March 2023 (which was my last time in rehab). I’ve been to several different rehabs all over the state and I’ll say this:
Brighton isn’t the nicest facility, they don’t have the best food, but Brighton has THE BEST therapy, therapist, and THERE is where you get some of the most one-on-one time with your therapist. They give you real thoughtful work to do on your own and hold you accountable to change and doing the work if you say you really want it. Their IOP is Amazing and the sessions lead by Mo changed my life. Dudes awesome 👏
Anyway, never a fun experience but 100% would recommend.

I Was a patient here 5 years ago I started drinking at the age of 14 and got into other stuff at 19. I didn’t know how to live life without a buffer Brighton gave me the tools to begin the recovery process I am still clean and sober after a horrible detox from barbiturates and Suboxone, I am thankful and grateful everyday that I made the decision to call and ask Brighton for help.
