About Northwestern Community Services – Community House
Based in Winchester, Virginia, Northwestern Community Services’ Community House is a now-defunct facility that used to provide support to kids, adults, and families dealing with mental illness, intellectual disabilities, and addiction. It had operated for 23 years. Support was available to clients within Clark, Page, Frederick, Shenandoah, and Warren counties.
Residential Support Services
Various residential support services used to be provided through this facility and its network, including a six-month residential program for troubled youth at Shenandoah House. Short-term overnight crisis support was also provided to adults at Virginia House, while housing assistance was directed toward homeless individuals, and those with severe mental health issues through the supportive housing program.
Outpatient Mental Health & Addiction Treatment in Northern Virginia
Outpatient counseling and emergency services were provided to clients of all ages, along with psychosocial day treatment programs for individuals suffering from serious mental health issues. Other, more specialized support programs provided addiction treatment and mental health services to kids.
The center also provided targeted intensive outpatient programming (IOP) for women and teens, which featured individual and group counseling, substance abuse motivational treatment, and mentoring services.
