Drove across town for an in-person appointment, only to find out I would be talking to an iPad in a virtual appointment. They will keep you in the waiting area for a long time to benefit their billing.

The staff here is very kind. My son and husband utilize the therapy and med clinic services here. The staff is mostly respectful and thorough. There are always places for improvement no matter where one chooses to go. The 1 star ratings complain about a place that offers FREE and deeply discounted services to the general public. Gratefulness and Appreciation for overworked and underpaid staff is welcome, I'm sure.

I'm very thankful that there are options for people who cannot afford mental health care, however I feel as if some of the people have joined the wrong field. Many of the people that come to red rock are seeking help and at a very emotionally vulnerable place in their lives. If you cannot be patient and kind to people who are at their lowest, then maybe you shouldn't be working at a mental health facility. Yolanda, the receptionist at the med clinic, is so rude and cold that my husband gets nervous about even calling at all. Also it is incredibly difficult to get ahold of them. It almost always goes to voicemail and if you work full time and cannot have your phone on you, it's a constant game of phone tag. And then they will get mad at you for not answering, even when you explain you've been calling every break you have with no answer. Okay ....but isn't answering the phone calls of patients a major part of your job?

Accepted Insurance

Red Rock Behavioral Health Services works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

Treatments

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.

Programs

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional talk therapy by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Experiential therapy can help people process trauma, memories, and emotion quickly, deeply, and in a lasting fashion, leading to substantial and impactful healing.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

I’m at a loss. I’ve been having nothing but problems with RedRock, they were supposed to be finding me a new therapist, my med appointments were canceled. After over a month of calling and being told someone would reach out to me for a new therapist no one did. For the second time my chart got closed out without any communication and I am honestly over it. The reason I need a new therapist is because I had shown up to my appointment online twice and she wasn’t there she had me scheduled all the way out until July every Monday at 3pm. I told my doctor who is responsible for my meds what had happened she put in a complaint regarding Christina and was told someone should reach out. Hence started the long drawn out fighting for someone to call me and almost being out of my antidepressants and anti anxiety medication include my sleep aids and my meds that help me with my night terrors. At this point I don’t know where to go for therapy that also does medication management and I feel like I’m at a loss and let down. Does anyone know where I can go OTHER THAN RED ROCK?

I barely give it a star. This place is a joke. Maybe it's the protocol in which behaviorial health centers are directed. Tried making an intake appointment. Had to reschedule after snow storm.. which they can call and tell me they're not going to be there the day B4 but you can't call me to reschedule. Second time I made an appointment, my profile was dropped on the 9th and my appointment was on the 15th. So I'mma have to go back up there and start this process all * over again. Do doctors offices just throw your case out because you didn't show up. No they don't Y. Y. So now I have to go up there again. This is the third time I have to go up there and make a appointment. I am stuck in my head enough as it is. You guys can't help me out to make an appointment. They are 2 hours long. So what were you doing in the 2 hours? There was a snow blizzard. You couldn't call me to tell me you're there. Instead when I called make an appointment the lady gets an attitude with me. You guys are quick to throw us in Griffin If we come in there telling the truth about our depression. I finally decided to talk about it and come to somewhere I thought I could trust but that was wrong. So you throw me in Griffin where there's nothing to talk about cuz you're on thorazine the whole time cuz you guys don't know how to handle people with depression or any other form of mental illness. I'm so sick of this place. Our meds is why we are up there. So we can feel better. But that's not y'all's number one focus. Your number one focus is making us wait months to see a therapist to get meds. Does none of your staff have any personal experience with depression? I think maybe you should start hiring people that do because you guys don't have a f clue. Meds 1st if we know what works and then a therapist. AND THE PROCESS IS SO UNORGANIZED, UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNEDUCATED. IT'S UNBELIEVABLE.

Any low income individuals seeking medication management through Red Rock should be sure to advocate for themselves in regards to transparency around cost of medication. I was prescribed Trintellix for major depressive disorder, and it costs so much even they wouldn’t cover it since I had no insurance, so they gave me samples every time I was due for a refill. I applied for Medicare and thankfully it was approved and covered the medication. I’ve been stable on this medication for around a year, but now I make too much to qualify for Medicare. Now, even with a coupon this medication is over $600, around what I pay for rent every month. I am now forced to choose between the medication that keeps my debilitating depression manageable/suicidal thoughts in check and a roof over my head. It’s negligent of them to do this without consent or communication with the patient. Shame on you Red Rock, you are supposed to be helping your community not burdening us further.

This place is horrendous all my problems were just ignored by staff and no help was given. They tried making me stay until I was 18 which I was 16 at the start and in the few weeks I had gotten there I lost 40lbs due to malnutrition. I walked in at 160lbs and left at 118lbs all of the 5 stars are clearly either bots or the corrupted staff there was only one man there that tried to understand but as soon as someone else would enter he’s have to act different towards us and act like we weren’t talking before. This place ended up giving me more issues than solutions. They then sent me out and made me sign a deal to go to their therapist for months if I did that then I wouldn’t have to stay till adulthood. They make you wear used underwear pants shirts the beds are too small for majority of normal sized people and the food isn’t even enough to feel a small dog at best go somewhere else if you have the chance
