About The Salvation Army Denver Harbor Light Center

The Salvation Army Denver Harbor Light Center is located on Champa Street in Denver, Colorado. They provide behavioral health services to address and treat co-occurring mental health issues and substance use disorder.

They are located in a modern, brick building complex, with onsite street parking available to you and your loved ones. Nearby you will find restaurants, cultural attractions and retail stores for shopping. There are also many local natural landmarks nearby including Benedict Fountain Park, Lawson Park and Sunken Gardens Park.

Faith-Based Recovery and Support

They provide support to men in three phases. Phase 1 is their relapse and education program that is carried out over a three month period. I find it good to know that they provide relapse prevention classes and group meetings in a peer supported environment where you can address past traumas, which may have led to your addiction. They also offer one-on-one counseling and CBT therapy to help you break free from negative emotions and behavior.

Three-Phased Program for Treatment

Phase 2 of their program consists of vocational and spiritual growth. As a faith-based organization, they work with you to focus on spiritual guidance throughout your recovery. They help in providing you with life skills and offer advice on saving and budgeting. In addition, they assist you in securing employment, while continuing to provide care and access to services. This phase also lasts for three months.

Access to Transitional Living

I think it’s great that the final phase provides you with access to transitional living. They offer access to housing for up to two years for those in need. Participants are required to be employed while living in their transitional housing and are expected to save a portion of their monthly income towards securing independent housing following the completion of the program.

They are serving the community food in food trucks and where they are loading the meals into the food trucks, there is human feces all over the ground and they refuse to clean it! I think that's the worst cross contamination I have ever heard of! They deliver to many local hotels! Be careful my fellow citizens of Denver! May God Bless you!

This place acts like they’re helping addicts get clean and sober however the turn around rate is really high. On average 1-3 ppl per day get kicked out and discharged. (Not even for using) for stupid excuses the staff crosses people out for. They have maybe 75 intakes come in each month however when the groups are graduating they are 5 people per month who actually graduate. Especially being a Salvation Army I had higher hopes for this place than what our experience was. This place was more crooked than the typical halfway houses

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Clients entering an inpatient rehab typically require more intensive treatment than those in outpatient care. Clients often start inpatient treatment immediately after completing a detox program. Upon admission, they engage in extensive psychotherapy, receive recovery-focused life skills training, and participate in evidence-based complementary therapies, such as meditation, massage, acupuncture, and/or animal, creative arts, recreational, and experiential therapy.

Treatments

Alcoholism is defined as a physical dependence on alcohol. In this state, the body experiences withdrawal symptoms in the absence of alcohol. Over time, a person with alcohol use disorder also must drink greater amounts of alcohol to achieve the same effects. To overcome alcohol use disorder, alcohol rehab in Colorado is usually necessary, a process which includes supervised medical detox. This is followed by intensive rehab, then a maintenance program that may include 12-step support.

Professional services are often necessary to recover from addiction. Drug rehab in Colorado provides the expert services needed to address the complex issues of addiction and help individuals start their recovery journey.

Programs

Men face specific challenges and concerns when seeking addiction treatment. Gender-specific recovery programs help them tackle these issues head-on in an environment that's focused, targeted, and distraction-free. It also gives them the opportunity to connect with and learn from other men who have been through a similar journey and can offer support for the next step.

Clinical Services

Life skills are traits you need to be successful during recovery, such as managing stress and interpersonal relationships. During rehab treatment in Colorado, you and your therapist will identify any skills that need to be developed and work on methods to strengthen them.
