Many of them provide residential care, most have some type of outpatient treatment and one provides medical detox. These levels of care help support your recovery as you move from one treatment level to the next.
There are varied payment options within this list. Each of the top 10 facilities says they accept private insurance and more than half say they accept military insurance. However, you should ask about Medicaid and Medicare since only 2 offer Medicaid and one offers Medicare.
The centers on this list are based in Salt Lake City, South Jordan, Murray, Bluffdale, Draper, Sandy and Midvale, so there’s a good chance one of the centers is just a short drive from your home.
How These Rankings Work
Each ranking begins with the Rehab Score. We calculate this score for every treatment center listed on Rehab.com beginning with patient reviews. This makes up about half of the score, and recent reviews count more than older ones. The rest of the score reflects accreditation and licensing, how complete and specific a center’s program information is, and reputation signals such as business history and staffing.
To qualify, a center must list substance use treatment and at least one clinical level of care, show a physical address, and be open to the general public. We rank one location per organization. Our editors screen every ranked center, its parent company and affiliates for actions against the license, patient-safety lawsuits and settlements, government fraud cases and credible investigations.
We remove centers that no longer qualify. Programs for young people are included only when they treat substance use. No center can pay for placement. We update these rankings every quarter, and our scoring methodology page explains this in detail.
