The Phoenix Recovery Center holds a very special place in my heart. As someone with over 10 years of sobriety, I know firsthand how overwhelming and difficult the journey can feel in the beginning. Now, as an admissions coordinator here, I have the
privilege of walking alongside people during some of the hardest moments of their lives and watching them begin to find hope again.
What sets Phoenix apart is not only the quality of care but also the compassion, understanding, and genuine commitment every member of the team brings to this work. This isn’t just a treatment center—it’s a place where lives are rebuilt, families are reunited, and hope is restored.
I’m proud to be part of a place that truly changes lives. 💕

Since 2023, I have been under the care of Dr. Susi Dalanhese, a psychiatrist whom I highly recommend. Her thoroughness and exceptional demeanor set her apart from any other doctor I have encountered. She possesses a unique ability to genuinely listen, which was a significant improvement from my previous experiences with psychiatrists.
Dr. Dalanhese consistently demonstrates a deep understanding of her patients' feelings and beliefs, and she actively incorporates feedback from guardians. Her commitment to patient well-being is evident in the comprehensive care she provides. Additionally, she is remarkably adept and approachable when assisting with administrative tasks, such as signing ADA accommodation forms.
Her positive feedback and intelligence further enhance the patient experience. Dr. Dalanhese’s ability to manage complex situations with ease and her insightful guidance truly make her an outstanding medical professional.

My daughter was suffering with depression in February of this year. We were desperately trying to find her some help. Rod reached out to me and was able to get her to a therapist that she absolutely loves. (She had tried several prior)
Today my daughter posted on her Instagram how, in February, she was drafting her letter to leave the miserable mental state she was in. She was tired of fighting with herself every day trying to stay here.
Here we are in October. She is doing SO good and she has for several months. It's all due to Suncrest Counseling, Rod and her amazing therapist, Laurie. She posted that because of their help and resources, she has happiness in her life and credit's them and people that love her with saving her life.
I credit her for doing the work needed to get to where she is.
She wants everyone to know that there is hope and happiness to be found.
Thank you Rod and Laurie! My daughter is here because of you!

I first attended Mountainside from April to May 2024 and was stabilized there before attending outpatient (I left a review for Mountainside well).
To put it simply, Deer Hollow saved my life, without question. Alec was my therapist and he was incredible to work with. He introduced me to ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) and that was where I got the most relief from my PTSD symptoms. While the symptoms never completely went away and simply backed off a little bit, it was enough to where I could actually function without being overrun by them.
I was challenged by Alec and other therapists when they'd be running group but I was never pushed beyond my boundaries. PHP/IOP is generally a 6 week program but I ended up staying in outpatient from May to September 2024 (with a three week break to go home in the summer) by my own choice as I knew by the six week mark that I wasn't ready to leave yet. I checked in with myself and my therapist regularly about this. I advocated for myself and stayed until I knew I was ready to graduate. I highly recommend doing this as some people think they can only stay for the 6 weeks and that's it. If you feel you need longer than that, speak up for yourself and speak to your therapist and Lisa about it (Lisa is amazing and fantastic, by the way).
Long story short: This place is amazing and saved my life. I'm so glad that I gave them a chance and I'm so grateful for the help they gave me.

Orem, Utah | Located in the heart of Orem, Utah, the Center for Change is more than just an eating disorder treatment center. It’s a place where individuals find hope, healing and a path forward. Specializing in the treatment of anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder, the Center for Change also provides comprehensive support for those facing co-occurrin | Treatments Programs Payment Options | This was my first time ever being in treatment, and I truly could not have had a better experience. I researched a lot of different places for 24 hour care, but Center for Change had the best balance of being structured and serious when it needed to be, yet still comfortable and supportive. A lot of smaller treatment centers I looked into did not have nearly as many resources, staff, or the level of observation and care that this one did. Overall, the staff members were incredible. I got so attached to some of them that it was genuinely hard to say goodbye when I left. There were a couple of moments where I had concerns about a staff member, but once I and a few other patients shared our feedback, it was taken seriously and addressed immediately, and I really appreciated how quickly things improved after that.
I truly feel like this place saved my life and gave me a second chance. My therapist, Rian, was amazing. In just two months, I did more deep and meaningful work with her than I had in years of therapy before. On my last day, I felt genuinely sad to leave, even though I knew I was ready and had worked hard to get there.
I will never forget the incredible staff and patients I met. Thinking about it still makes me emotional. I am so eternally grateful that this was the place my sister chose for me. She had gone through eating disorder treatment elsewhere and was familiar with the options, and she said this was far better in every way. The groups were impactful, the food was surprisingly good (you could tell the kitchen staff cared about us), and every person there seemed genuinely dedicated to helping us heal.
The CEO, Nicole, is amazing. She even led one of our groups every single week, and her family week presentation was so impactful for me and my family members. It helped us get educated and understand each other on a deeper level. You can tell she truly cares and takes the time to be personally involved, which says a lot about the kind of environment she has created.
That said, I struggled with substance abuse along with my eating disorder and did not feel very supported in that area while I was there. We had one substance abuse group a week, which did not feel like enough. I have been pretty successful in recovery besides that aspect, but my only advice would be that if you are struggling more with substance abuse than an eating disorder, it might be better to find another program that focuses more on that side of recovery.
If anyone in my life ever struggled with an eating disorder, I would recommend this place to them without hesitation. Center for Change will always hold a special place in my heart.

Next Level Recovery stands out from traditional substance abuse programs by not only providing education and cessation strategies but also offering a unique experience. When you reach out in search of a sober living environment, you are greeted by Mike Brown himself, a compassionate individual who has played a pivotal role in my journey to recovery. I have had the privilege of residing in his sober living houses on two separate occasions, as well as participating in his intensive outpatient program.
Mike Brown has proven to be more than just a supporter. Moreover, when I discovered I was pregnant, I reached out to Mike, and he swiftly arranged for me to move into one of his finest sober living houses within a few hours. His dedication to my well-being is a testament to his genuinely admirable character.
Furthermore, Mike's wife (whom I haven’t met) shares his passion for creating a welcoming atmosphere in the sober living houses. She invests her energy into decorating these spaces, aiming to transform them into genuine homes. Their commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals in recovery is commendable.
My journey towards sobriety has spanned an extended period, during which I have undergone a profound transformation in both my lifestyle and mindset. While Next Level Recovery played an instrumental role in my progress, the true catalyst for change was the experience of residing in their sober living houses. These environments foster personal growth by allowing individuals to take ownership of their lives while also providing essential resources for those struggling.
A well-designed sober living program should never be overly controlling, but rather empower individuals to learn how to care for themselves. However, it should also offer a safety net to prevent anyone from falling into the depths of despair. Next Level Recovery understands this delicate balance and ensures that residents are equipped with the necessary skills to thrive independently while offering support when needed.

This is the best clinic I've ever been to. The doctors are awesome!
Update;
I have now been going to Martindale Clinic for over 5 years now.
I am happy to say that I'm happier than ever to be going to Martindale Clinic.
I know some reviews make it seem like they are negligent answering phones and returning calls, but please remember they serve SO many people that they are constantly busy. But this is actually a testament of how Awesome they really are! To have so many people as patients!
Here's some examples of my experiences in these last 5 years;
During COVID (2020), I had recently lost my housing, and ended up drinking antifreeze after asking help from The U of U, only for the U to kick me off the property.
When I was walking up to Martindale Clinic while drinking from the jug of antifreeze, someone is saw and went in and told the staff.
My PCP (Jessica Arbogast) literally came outside with a couple of chairs and sat with me while they called the ambulance.
Keep in mind this was at the hight of COVID and as it turned out, I had an active COVID infection.
My PCP sat and talked with me the whole time until the ambulance arrived.
Then she also directed them to bring me to LDS hospital, since I had just had such a negative experience at the U, and didn't feel safe there even though the U was a bit closer.
Jessica also remembers my family members names that I've talked about.
She even remembers the problems or encounters that I have talked about regarding not just family, but my day to day experiences.
Going to Martindale Clinic to get help with my addiction was possibly the best choice I've ever made and I've been sober for over 4 years now!
To the staff at Martindale Clinic, and especially Jessica Arbogast, I want to say this;
Thank You SO Much!
You have been key in my life getting so much better, and I will always remember your help and kindness!
Please if anyone is looking to get away from their addiction, and improve their life...
Please.give Martindale Clinic a chance to help you!

I want to speak to all the parents who believe that when our children make mistakes, they can never be the same again. I want you to look at these photos of Roberto, a boy who was programmed to be a champion since the womb but whose adolescence and life experiences led him to make his own decisions, though not always the right ones.
With the help of Youth Care and the full support of my husband, his siblings, and myself, his mother, he was able to find himself again. ♥️ We are also deeply grateful to the other families who were going through the same struggles and, by sharing their stories, helped us support each other.
Thanks to Youth Care’s guidance, our perseverance, and Roberto’s wise decision, he has now been able to change his life or maybe return to the one that was always there since the day he was born.
Is it worth it? Absolutely, more than you can imagine.
Take the step. For us, the greatest gift Youth Care gave us was communication. We didn’t have it at the beginning but we eventually found it and with it came real change.
A piece of advice: when they call you for the enrollment process, ask to attend the therapy sessions, especially the group ones. I miss them deeply.
Today we are happy. Roberto is back to his lifelong sport, back by his own choice after 15 years of life. ♥️

A loved one went here. One of the better places. They give weekend take-homes right away. One downside is you have to line up at 5:30 am to initially be admitted.

Amethyst Center for Healing, and Jana Fulmer changed my life. As a trans person recovering from trauma, this was a safe haven that is irreplaceable. I was given space and tools to start discovering more about myself and how to grow when in a place of pain.
I also really respect what they do— not only working with victims of violence but those who have hurt others. This reparative justice ethos is inspiring and part of a future that focuses on rehabilitation not punitive systems.
I’m so much happier with my life, and a lot of that has to do with the empowerment and trust I was given at Amethyst to start making decisions in my life that were more focused and less reactionary. Jana showed true care and empathy towards me, and helped me feel supported and valued. I can’t recommend enough!

Utah Trauma has made a lasting impact on how I see myself and the way I treat the world. The amount of knowledge I gained from my stay at this treatment center is unreal.
My initial intention when I landed at Utah Trauma was to create a much needed foundation I could grow from. Im writing this 2 weeks into the real world so the afterglow is still very strong from everything I gained from my experience at this house. I expected a very surface level of foundation than what I actually have now. I was more seeking a physical security rather than the emotional structure I now have. I feel more confident shaping my future with the tools I learned at Utah Trauma than I ever planned.
Fully immersing myself into the world of self growth that this place had to offer opened my eyes to more truths about my past than I really imagined. Jumping into an inpatient treatment center has a ton of variables. The way this house is setup makes for so much more actual real world life lessons than the previous program I sat thru. I always felt a true level of compassion from the people that ran Utah Trauma during my stay no matter how hard it was for me to face whatever truth I was being presented.
I couldn't have asked for more from this treatment facility. No matter the drama within the clients there was always a deep level of respect for how each patient felt about what was happening within the culture and I cant emphasize this enough. It's difficult to see passed the emotional lenses when drama is faced head on.
Jeremy had an awesome approach with every person at this facility during my time here.

I would have rated 4 stars but at the end of the day they're a business so you will be treated to their standards and I was treated well. Other than that I had a mixed, complicated experience. You should know about the type of residents who reside there, mostly severe drug addicts, convicts and people with severe trauma and suicidal tendencies so living with a bunch of strangers who mostly are there because of legal issues and not so much that they're truly trying to turn their life around is going to cause drama. There's a lot of house and client issues that it interferes with group therapy. There's a lot of needy, complaining, immature clients that make it difficult for the ones who are willing there and committed to the program and truly seeking help and change. Every now and than there's also favoritism among the clients, therapists and interns who put in hours there. They don't hire people for chore duties or meal cooks so clients have to participate in all that among other activities such as going to AA meetings and gym time along with the strict rules they ( which nobody follows, rules are broken, people are held accountable but there's no disciplinary action until it's reached totally out of control than you're kicked out) but I found all this truly beneficial trying to also have some order and discipline in my life. It's a fairly, decent, classic type of home, nothing modern. They have equine horse therapy in which they have 2 lovely, friendly horses and my favorite a donkey named Nacho. On the bright side, it's a lovely home, beautiful landscaping all around the house, beautiful views of Eagle Mountain, Saratoga and UT County Lake which I found very therapeutical. The owners did a very good job in designing and constructing the home along with it's location. Shout out to the staff who work there (Darron, Callie and Avery) in which they're family but they're very nice and professional and you will be taken care of no matter what you got going on. Try to make sure you're type of insurance is "in network" first especially the Medicaid plans cause it sucks to get admitted but have to leave because you're insurance didn't cover the stay but they will still try their hardest to make things work out. I especially want to shout out my therapist James. He truly cares, he handles himself professionally but yet he's laid back and super funny. Apart from him being my therapist I found his groups more enjoyable and knowledgeable. Also want to mention that this type of program is mostly based on "group therapy" rather than the one on one personal therapy with the therapist. Shout out to Jeremy as well, life changing experience with the EMDR therapy and truly inspirational therapists, I myself have always loved psychology and working with them truly inspired and motivated me to perhaps get into this type of field. Much love and respect on how they orchestrated the program. My family and I see and feel the change and how I've grown and learned but recognize that it was just an awesome stepping stone towards my journey to continue on a successful recovery.

Very professional and understanding. They have helped me through a couple side devastating experiences and I greatly appreciate the help and understanding I received. The only thing I wish was different is the turn over of the counselors but I don’t think it’s the place the issue so much as the individual not being able to handle the job for to long.

After my husband tried multiple medications, years of talk therapy, CT scans, MRI’s, and saw countless doctors for different issues- we FINALLY got to the root of it all: his brain.
By addressing the core—his neurological function—we’ve found true healing from his depression, anxiety, ADHD, & addictions. Those painful cycles are over, as this has given us the tools to actually work through them. It’s been a long 7 years watching him suffer & feel disconnected, and now I’m finally seeing my husband be HIMSELF again. That means everything to me.
His quality of life has done a complete 180. He’s able to function optimally! He is healthy- and most importantly he’s happy.
We finally found the help needed to recover and truly heal his brain, and we owe it to NeuroLife.

Absolutely life-changing. I couldn't really have done it without them because of what they do here at neural life healing and it's just absolutely phenomenal. It's well worth the money and we'll worth your time because on all honesty. It's not that much time. It may be every day, but it's not that much time. .there were some days that I wanted more or longer sessions. Also, because I felt comfortable with the people providing the care and also because the care was amazing.

If you want to keep getting high, go to the one that rhymes with fart. These guys know their stuff, understand addiction, and will work with you to get you sober. The level on one of my tests was out of whack, so they started doing my dose do make sure all was well. Once things were sstraightened or, the stabilized me for the first time ever. Now I'm good without dope. 5 years at fart and nothing, I come here and within a month, I'm stable. This is unlike any other clinic I've been to. No lines around the block, no staff talking down to you. Exactly what I needed.

EDIT: It's been almost a year since my last review & I wanted to update it again. I love this place and & the people. Unfortunately, Jerry, who was the owner, had to sell. I met the new owner & he seemed very nice but omg the new systems they're implementing are just so awful & annoying & frustrating. Before we would come in & Susan, the receptionist, who is so sweet, kind, smart, & efficient, would get us checked in & we could literally be in & out in like 3 minutes for real. Now they make u check in on a tablet & there's a TV where they put your # when you're allowed to go back & see Jeff, (the one who gives u your dose). I hate it for a couple reasons, #1- it slows things down A LOT!!! There is always a wait now & it is no longer in & out. #2- it makes u feel like your at the DMV! Waiting for your # to be called, you're not a person, you're a # & it feels so clinical & impersonal. Now one of the things I do like & really appreciate that they've done is if u miss your counseling apt they give u a week to do a group & if u do u don't have to pay a fine. Which I really appreciate. Last Monday the while morning was going awful & all these things came up & I totally spaced & felt so bad about missing my apt but am so grateful I am able to make it up! I'm also grateful Jerry is still there & I still have him as my counselor, he is a wonderful person who u can tell really cares about everyone & never judges. & I'm also so glad Susan is there & Jeff. Jeff is the nurse who gives u your dose, who is also one of my favorite people there. He is so kind, efficient & I love coming every day & getting to see Susan & Jeff cuz they're such wonderful people & I hope they never leave!!! Diane is another staff member who has been there for years & is such an amazing person. As a matter of fact, all the staff there is amazing & I'm grateful to have such wonderful people to be there & support me in my recovery journey. So even though I really don't like the new system (& talking to others, everyone else hates it too & were kind of hoping they'll do away with it after a while when they see how much it slows things down) I will still continue with, I guess it's called True North now because of the people there.
