book iconAlcoholism

Professional addiction treatment at an alcohol rehab in Utah can help people struggling with alcohol use disorder. This disorder occurs when someone becomes psychologically or physically dependent on alcohol. During treatment, individuals undergo detox to safely withdraw from alcohol. Then, they participate in a customized treatment plan that uses behavioral therapies and support systems to help them move forward in recovery.

prescription iconDrug Addiction

When you enter a drug rehab in Utah, the process usually involves four stages: treatment initiation, early abstinence, maintaining abstinence, and advanced recovery. Treatment methods can rely on medications, counseling, or both, in either an outpatient or inpatient setting.

head-side-medical iconDual Diagnosis

In Utah, dual-diagnosis addiction treatment programs have the expertise to help individuals with co-occurring substance use disorders and mental health conditions. These specialized programs are available in an intensive outpatient or residential inpatient setting, depending on the severity of the patient’s mental health. Treatment incorporates therapies, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), 12-Step recovery, skills training, medication management, and aftercare support.

prescription-bottle-pill iconOpioid Addiction

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

In Utah, individuals looking for substance abuse treatment can find several inpatient and outpatient treatment programs. Typically, you can expect the program to include evidence-based therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), psychoeducation, skills development groups, and experiential therapies, like equine therapy, and adventure therapy. Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

book-medical icon12-Step

Participants in 12 step programs engage in rigorous group counseling, peer coaching, and personal development. Though 12 step recovery is rooted in spiritual principles, religious affiliation is not mandatory. The steps model promotes participants’ emotional and psychological healing, which is presumed integral to sustained sobriety. Regular attendance at group meetings is expected. These meetings are free, anonymous, peer-led, and accessible day and night in most communities. Gender and age-specific programs and other specialized formats are common.

house-medical iconAftercare Support

Annie’s House continues treatment with an aftercare plan that a client and their family can count on for life. Relapse prevention is an essential component of a woman’s continued treatment. Annie’s House provides ongoing support for a sober lifestyle that will last. Aftercare is a non-residential treatment and support plan and is offered for life … at no additional charge.

car-building iconOutpatient

Outpatient rehab programs enable clients to integrate addiction treatment with their routine work and home life. Many facilities offer virtual services and evening, night, and weekend sessions to accommodate clients’ schedules. Outpatient care typically includes rigorous psychotherapy, including group and family counseling. Most programs also prioritize addiction education and recovery-focused life skills training. Medication assisted treatment (MAT) is common for clients with alcohol and/or opioid dependency.

Experiential Therapy

Experiential therapy is a form of therapy in which clients are encouraged to surface and work through subconscious issues by engaging in real-time experiences. Experiential therapy departs from traditional “talk therapy” by involving the body, and having clients engage in activities, movements, and physical and emotional expression. This can involve role-play or using props (which can include other people). Their recreational therapy program includes seasonal activities that build wellness, endurance, and character. Join them in the summer for a game of volleyball or a kayaking trip down the river. In the winter, take advantage of the snow and try skiing or snowboarding. These recreational activities encourage group dynamics through team building, allow a connection to nature and the outdoors, and aid in a full, well-rounded recovery.

Family Therapy

They believe that Addictions are a family disease. It may be true that only one family member is actively involved, but the entire family is feeling a tremendous amount of pain and a host of other negative experiences right along with them. Annie’s House also understands that a family who has received counseling and support tools are key to a patient’s successful long-term recovery. That is why they invite family members to come the campus and learn about the disease of addiction, understand co-dependency, enabling, shame and how to begin learning better communication skills. The training, under the supervision of therapists, brings the addict and the family to a place where they can mend the damage done through this most difficult time and learn to move forward together.

Group Therapy

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Nutrition Therapy

Nutrition therapy, aka medical nutrition therapy (MNT), is a way of treating physical, emotional, and medical conditions through diet. Specific dietary plans are designed by professional nutritionists or registered dietitians, and patients follow them in order to positively affect their physical and mental health.
