Be patient and do it slow by tappering and just trust the program, I went two months in complete hell withdrawing that was beyond fun, I tried going to my original clinic but they couldn't take new patients so I came here, Mary is my counselor and she made me feel very respected and she was extremely caring and listened and just made the whole process very easy, I highly recommend this clinic if you are struggling and need help, utah is extremely hard getting this kind of help and its hard finding people who actually care and listen, dr Stephen is also very compassionate and listen as well, thanks for all your help I feel my life already getting back on track. Shaun J 5 months ago This is a safe place to go for help. The counselors, nurses, reception, the doctor and even the other patients are wonderful. I've been coming here for over 6 months. I've been treated with respect and the supportive environment has been vital to my recovery. Everybody working there is there because they want to be. Because they genuinely care and want to help you. There's accountability when I need it without feeling judged. My counselor Caitlin is one of the best people I've ever met. Her warmth makes her easy to talk to. She's so smart and she's great at helping with addiction issues. Whether it's a quick hello or she's checking in with me to see how I'm doing. I spent seven months at the Lighthouse on 745 E 300 S in Salt Lake City. During my time there, I learned about how my childhood trauma had shaped my life and started me on the road to addictive behaviors. I learned about my triggers and how to cope more effectively. My behavior changed and I have been sober for more than eight months. I'm now looking forward to a happy and healthy future. Francisco Cid 3 months ago this was my first time in recovery, and it was a great experience. i did the whole thing, starting in residential then moving on to outpatient and sober living. they put me on the path and gave me the tools to make things work. i was homeless and had given up on anything changing a long time ago. after completing the program, i am now employed, for 9 months and i love my job, after sober living i found a place that would rent to me. i did the work, odyssey showed me how, and made every step very doable. they helped me get all my legal problems taken care of and made it possible to get off the streets. after 14 years i had all but given up on anything changing. odyssey house got me motivated and gave me direction. i never thought i would be able to get to where i am now, working got my own place, more than anything im happy, and feel like i have options. im in control of my life. i highly recommend anyone thinking about recovery to go to odyssey, its not easy but they will get you thru it, and its 100% worth whatever it takes to regain a handle on your life. nich jepperson 3 months ago

I was actually treated like a human being with dignity, was listened to enough to actually get stabilized, they have programs, very good food as far as hospitals go, and things to do in your free time like drawing. They even had snacks available to just take. The nurses were kind. One of the nurses even went out of their way to make me feel welcomed (asked about my interests, etc). Being in the psych ward is already so difficult, but this truly felt like a break from my outside life. They don’t force you to do anything you’re against or have you strip down during intake. Another big thing is they separate patients based on what they’re being treated for and their risk level (like for violence) so i was never afraid of any of the other patients I was around. I was going to end my life and this was the start to a lot of treatment for me. three years later and I love life. Claire Isom 1 month ago Huntsman Mental Health Institute changed our lives for the better. Out of necessity I was the caregiver of my childhood friend who was having mental health issues. We couldn't figure out how to help my friend. It was a very overwhelming time. After being admitted to Huntsman, medication and Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) were provided which helped bring my friend's personality back to normal and the catatonia went away. I watched the ECT while it was being administered. It is nothing to be afraid of. If they recommend ECT for you or the person you are caring for, it worked for my friend. I recommend it. My friend is on medicine for life now and recognizes how good life is now. Medicine will prevent future mental health episodes. If you feel there is a stigma around a diagnosis, please know that getting help and staying on the proper medicine is more important than what others think. Life can be whole. People can function again. Before going to Huntsman, my friend really suffered because all psychiatric appointments were online. The online psychiatrist couldn't see the mannerisms or what really was happening. Online psychiatric appointments are unable to diagnose properly. I recommend staying away from online appointments. In person is needed. I am SOOOOO grateful for the people who work at Huntsman Mental Health and the people who have donated money to keep it going. Thank you soooooooooooooooo much!!!!! Huntsman Mental Health Institute was not the beginning of this journey. It took some years for my friend to accept the diagnosis. Once the symptoms were severe enough, my friend chose to trust the diagnosis was correct by believing friends and family input. Everyone's journey is different. I was made aware of the course by 2 family members in the mental health field. I occasionally was having anxiety episodes that led me to the emergency room with a heart concern. On a couple of occasions it turned into a panic attack. With the information presented to me in the classes I feel I have the tools required to help me before it gets to that point again. I have shared my experiences with a number of friends and they have commented that it could be a good fit for them as well. In the past I haven't had the greatest experiences at clinics due to many factors. Like having too many patients and/or lack of empathy. Their intake processes were always so ridiculous. They would make u jump through 100 hoops just to start dosing. And sometimes if you didn't meet their unrealistic qualifications they would turn u away and tell u to come back another day. But Tranquility Place has put those places to shame! The intake process is easy and painless and goes by quick! They get u to dose right away. They have dr's there each morning to help get u to a comfortable dose. The staff there is beyond helpful, professional, very sweet and personable. Very passionate about what they do there and it shows. Ive never felt judged and I've been met with a lot of compassion. I check in with my counselor maybe once a week for no more than 10-20 min at a time. Groups are available but not mandatory! Each time I dose im in and out in the blink of an eye. There is never a wait time when I come in to dose. I'm finally stable and my quality of life is already improving. I was against going back on methadone for a long time. I like the place. The people are nice. My psychiatrist is Cassi Cluff and she's great. She listens well without criticism or judgement. She offers good ideas and support and she helped me find a grief clinic to help me with my grief after my mom passed away from Alzheimer's. I can actually vent without worrying that I'm talking her ear off. I feel like that a lot lately. I would recommend her to others

UPDATE: unfortunately it's been a couple years and still on the methadone but that's because of other issues and my body needing long relief from pain, with that being said i just wanted to thank Mary and Dr Stephen for treating me as a patient and working outside of the addiction side of treatment and willing to work with the recommendations from my personal Dr's, i seriously can't express how compassionate you all have been and treat me with the upmost respect, anyone truly looking for the right place for help look no further CTC of Layton and all there people really do care. I've been on methadone before and tried getting off it cold turkey and if I can give any advice don't! Be patient and do it slow by tappering and just trust the program, I went two months in complete hell withdrawing that was beyond fun, I tried going to my original clinic but they couldn't take new patients so I came here, Mary is my counselor and she made me feel very respected and she was extremely caring and listened and just made the whole process very easy, I highly recommend this clinic if you are struggling and need help, utah is extremely hard getting this kind of help and its hard finding people who actually care and listen, dr Stephen is also very compassionate and listen as well, thanks for all your help I feel my life already getting back on track.

This is a safe place to go for help. The counselors, nurses, reception, the doctor and even the other patients are wonderful. I've been coming here for over 6 months. I've been treated with respect and the supportive environment has been vital to my recovery. Everybody working there is there because they want to be. Because they genuinely care and want to help you. There's accountability when I need it without feeling judged. My counselor Caitlin is one of the best people I've ever met. Her warmth makes her easy to talk to. She's so smart and she's great at helping with addiction issues. Whether it's a quick hello or she's checking in with me to see how I'm doing. I always look forward to seeing her when I come in to dose.

If I could leave more stars I would! There were only a few specialty services, such as dental, and some times audiology where we had much of a wait time. Most appointments were scheduled very quickly. I want to say, when my dad went to his appointments, we were NEVER rushed. We would sometimes have 2 1/2 hour appointments! His care team always listened, worked on root causes, helped advocate, and educate us. I feel his care there was superb, and it makes me sad not all VAs in our country have this level of care! Their teams are highly appreciated by us.

I've learned a lot from Odyssey my favorite assignment was the thinking errors it really helped me see them in myself and has taught me to grow. I recommend this program to anybody still in there addiction most say I won't do that snitching program. But it really ain't like that all it teaches accountability and how to hold your peers accountable. It also shows you how to express your emotions using the encounter process. My experience with the Odyssey House of Utah was life changing. I spent seven months at the Lighthouse on 745 E 300 S in Salt Lake City. During my time there, I learned about how my childhood trauma had shaped my life and started me on the road to addictive behaviors. I learned about my triggers and how to cope more effectively. My behavior changed and I have been sober for more than eight months. I'm now looking forward to a happy and healthy future.

this was my first time in recovery, and it was a great experience. i did the whole thing, starting in residential then moving on to outpatient and sober living. they put me on the path and gave me the tools to make things work. i was homeless and had given up on anything changing a long time ago. after completing the program, i am now employed, for 9 months and i love my job, after sober living i found a place that would rent to me. i did the work, odyssey showed me how, and made every step very doable. they helped me get all my legal problems taken care of and made it possible to get off the streets. after 14 years i had all but given up on anything changing. odyssey house got me motivated and gave me direction. i never thought i would be able to get to where i am now, working got my own place, more than anything im happy, and feel like i have options. im in control of my life. i highly recommend anyone thinking about recovery to go to odyssey, its not easy but they will get you thru it, and its 100% worth whatever it takes to regain a handle on your life.

Brighton does lean heavily into AA, which is definitely not for everyone (it never was for me), but I wouldn't change my experience for anything.

As both a former patient and someone who now serves in peer support for mental health and addiction, as well as an Employee Assistance Representative, I’ve had the opportunity to see treatment from both the patient and professional perspective. Looking back, Brighton Recovery remains one of the most impressive treatment programs I’ve experienced. The facility is beautiful, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed to provide a safe, therapeutic environment where patients can focus on healing. Brighton Recovery offers a comprehensive, individualized approach that addresses addiction, trauma, and mental health rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach. Every aspect of the program is well planned, and the clinical staff is compassionate, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in each person’s recovery. Jonathan Saul’s vision of creating a healing environment is evident throughout the program. Patients are treated with dignity, respect, and genuine compassion while receiving high-quality, evidence-based care. My overall experience at Brighton was amazing, I'm so deeply grateful for everyone at the South Ogden location. The staff and residents have cultivated an environment that truly supports growth and I left feeling deeply fulfilled. I went in with the mindset "I have to get sober" and left with "I get to be sober." They showed me life can be enjoyed, just just endured. Not white knuckling my way every second of my life. For anyone considering this step, you truly get out what you put in. If you come in surrendered, open, and willing to accept the process, the reward is life changing, I promise with all my heart. Taking that step requires immense vulnerability, but at Brighton, that vulnerability is matched by a team that genuinely cares. The head nurse, Siobhan, was a true blessing, my therapist Shawn was amazing, and the technician staff were all fantastic. It is so important to be surrounded by people who are passionate about their work, and that is exactly what I felt every day. I really appreciated the balanced program they offer combining deep group therapy and individual one-on-one sessions with holistic activities like spirituality, exercise, art, and outdoor time. While there were a few days where communication felt a little disconnected, the team overall stayed completely on top of the program and delivered a remarkably strong experience. I’m sharing this because deciding to enter recovery can be terrifying. I hope my experience can be a beacon of hope for someone else standing on the edge of that choice... Take the leap. This is my second go round… been goin to for like 6 months maybe a lil longer.. this place is far from perfect.. but just like everywhere else ur experience is what u make of it! Sure its ghetto… n seems that everyone that goes or well 90% of the clients clearly still use… but if u pay to much attention to those details rather than the real reason ur goin there ( your self) then u have already lost the fight.. stop taking so much time worrying about everyone else and focus on u and why u r getting help! Recommend to anyone that isn’t worried about sitting back and judging everyone else and just worry about their own needs!

As far as inpatient goes, I would basically only recommend this facility. I was actually treated like a human being with dignity, was listened to enough to actually get stabilized, they have programs, very good food as far as hospitals go, and things to do in your free time like drawing. They even had snacks available to just take. The nurses were kind. One of the nurses even went out of their way to make me feel welcomed (asked about my interests, etc). Being in the psych ward is already so difficult, but this truly felt like a break from my outside life. They don’t force you to do anything you’re against or have you strip down during intake. Another big thing is they separate patients based on what they’re being treated for and their risk level (like for violence) so i was never afraid of any of the other patients I was around. I was going to end my life and this was the start to a lot of treatment for me. three years later and I love life.

Huntsman Mental Health Institute changed our lives for the better. Out of necessity I was the caregiver of my childhood friend who was having mental health issues. We couldn't figure out how to help my friend. It was a very overwhelming time. After being admitted to Huntsman, medication and Electro Convulsive Therapy (ECT) were provided which helped bring my friend's personality back to normal and the catatonia went away. I watched the ECT while it was being administered. It is nothing to be afraid of. If they recommend ECT for you or the person you are caring for, it worked for my friend. I recommend it. My friend is on medicine for life now and recognizes how good life is now. Medicine will prevent future mental health episodes. If you feel there is a stigma around a diagnosis, please know that getting help and staying on the proper medicine is more important than what others think. Life can be whole. People can function again. Before going to Huntsman, my friend really suffered because all psychiatric appointments were online. The online psychiatrist couldn't see the mannerisms or what really was happening. Online psychiatric appointments are unable to diagnose properly. I recommend staying away from online appointments. In person is needed. I am SOOOOO grateful for the people who work at Huntsman Mental Health and the people who have donated money to keep it going. Thank you soooooooooooooooo much!!!!! Huntsman Mental Health Institute was not the beginning of this journey. It took some years for my friend to accept the diagnosis. Once the symptoms were severe enough, my friend chose to trust the diagnosis was correct by believing friends and family input. Everyone's journey is different. Huntsman Mental Health along with friend & family support, really worked for us!

I joined a group for 5 weeks and enjoyed every moment. I was made aware of the course by 2 family members in the mental health field. I occasionally was having anxiety episodes that led me to the emergency room with a heart concern. On a couple of occasions it turned into a panic attack. With the information presented to me in the classes I feel I have the tools required to help me before it gets to that point again. I have shared my experiences with a number of friends and they have commented that it could be a good fit for them as well. Wonderful folks who only want to help. Follow the rules and have a good experience. Thanks to these guys for helping so many. Be nice and they'll be nice back:) Update about a year later. I still can't say enough good about this location and the wonderful staff here. So much good can happen w the right attitude and accepting the help this place can offer. Money wasn't an issue, I paid out of pocket to start and they helped me get on benefits to ease the costs. But at no time did they turn me away for any reason. I am so grateful for these folks and the assistance they provide time and time again. They really do care so if you are living so hard and feel like no one cares give these places a chance and get help. Totally worth it. 2 years later, still a great resource that likely saved my life. It's worth it call them!

Ive been going here for a few years now and i can confidently say this place saved my life! The staff are great and care about their patients. Their intake process is fairly simple. I would expect to spend a couple hours your first time going and try to get there right when they open. Their program works as long as you want it to.

I've been going here for about a month now. It's been years since I've gone to a clinic. In the past I haven't had the greatest experiences at clinics due to many factors. Like having too many patients and/or lack of empathy. Their intake processes were always so ridiculous. They would make u jump through 100 hoops just to start dosing. And sometimes if you didn't meet their unrealistic qualifications they would turn u away and tell u to come back another day. But Tranquility Place has put those places to shame! The intake process is easy and painless and goes by quick! They get u to dose right away. They have dr's there each morning to help get u to a comfortable dose. The staff there is beyond helpful, professional, very sweet and personable. Very passionate about what they do there and it shows. Ive never felt judged and I've been met with a lot of compassion. I check in with my counselor maybe once a week for no more than 10-20 min at a time. Groups are available but not mandatory! Each time I dose im in and out in the blink of an eye. There is never a wait time when I come in to dose. I'm finally stable and my quality of life is already improving. I was against going back on methadone for a long time. But if u are anything like me and have had long term issues with opiates and u are considering a clinic, Tranquility Place is the clinic to go to! Trust me!

I have a 4 star honest rating! No one is perfect especially in the recovery addiction business. But these guys actually care. They care about you your health. You deal with a counselor Kevin he’s a 5 star counselor! Definitely cares and knows a little about what he’s doing! Definitely a blessed man indeed! The doc doesn’t know a whole lot about addiction because he came from pediatrics so Kevin fills in well! If you’re struggling and need help go to this clinic? It’s more than worth it if you have Medicaid people! It’s free to those with Medicaid insurance! Why not better yourself and take the first step in recovery? It’s helped me get my life back not addicted to pain pills anymore! Praise God for that!

Amethyst Center for Healing, and Jana Fulmer changed my life. As a trans person recovering from trauma, this was a safe haven that is irreplaceable. I was given space and tools to start discovering more about myself and how to grow when in a place of pain. I also really respect what they do— not only working with victims of violence but those who have hurt others. This reparative justice ethos is inspiring and part of a future that focuses on rehabilitation not punitive systems. I’m so much happier with my life, and a lot of that has to do with the empowerment and trust I was given at Amethyst to start making decisions in my life that were more focused and less reactionary. My experience at Haven Inpatient Treatment truly changed my life. When I came in, I was at one of my lowest points. I felt lost, broken, and unsure if I could ever get my life back together. The staff here didn’t just treat my addiction ,they treated me like a person who mattered. Because of Haven, I was able to rebuild myself from the inside out. They helped me realize that I am worth it. They gave me the tools, support, and accountability I needed to stay clean and make better choices. Today, my life looks completely different. I have my kids back in my life, I’ve reunited with my family, and I’m present in ways I never was before. I can honestly say my life is so much better without drugs. Oh I absolutely love every single person at this facility!! I've been a Spravato patient for 3 years now and it's changed my life from being in the deepest darkest hole 🕳 I've ever been in, to a bright shining future with my bf and other family & friends and of course Loki our Lil dog 😊 I can't put it into words because of how amazing, non judgemental, caring, loving & the kindest nurses staff ever!! The Dr's treat you like you're a normal human being with respect and honesty. They're very knowledgeable about the medicines they prescribe if needed.
