Therapy and Support Options
At this location they offer therapy for a variety of needs including individual sessions as well as couples and family therapy. If you’re struggling with substance use the therapists here specialize in helping you manage cravings and triggers. They also offer group therapy where you can connect with others and share experiences.
Reclaiming Your Life from Substance Use
At GHCS recovery is about understanding your own story. In individual therapy you’ll explore the key aspects of your addiction, develop strategies for overcoming challenges, and find the recovery path that makes sense for you. If group therapy is more your preference you can be involved with others who share similar experiences and can offer support.
What makes GHCS special is the way it fosters a supportive, judgment free environment for recovery. The therapists really make an effort to understand your personal challenges, and they’re there to help you navigate whatever issues you’re dealing with, whether it’s addiction, family problems or stress.
They also organize various community events like summer camps, mental health courses and group therapy. These events are designed to help you live your best life.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience with our intake process felt impersonal. As a licensed mental health practice, we are legally and ethically required to collect certain information and documentation before services can begin. These forms help us ensure your safety and provide the most appropriate care.
That said, we truly regret if our delivery came across as rigid or frustrating. We’re actively reviewing our current processes to see how we can make the experience feel more personal and accessible from the very first interaction.
If you’re ever open to giving us another chance, we’d be grateful for the opportunity to support you.
Wishing you the best,
— GHCS Leadership Team

Transitions are sometimes necessary, but we approach each one with care and intention, always striving to keep clients informed and supported throughout the process.
We understand how important consistency is, and we welcome open dialogue that helps us grow. If you'd like to speak with someone directly, we’re always available at Info@GreaterHoustonCounselingServices.com.

Levels of Care
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
Treatments
Mental health rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from mental illnesses like bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and more. Mental health professionals at these facilities are trained to understand and treat mental health issues, both in individual and group settings.
Clinical Services
In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.
