About Healing Corner
Healing Corner was a behavioral health and addiction treatment center in Brookfield, Wisconsin. It provided care to adults struggling with mental health and substance abuse issues, and identified as an LGBTQ+ friendly space. Several major health plans were accepted, along with self-pay options
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) For Substance Abuse
Following evaluations and initial monitoring, individuals could access MAT. First visits for this typically took around 1-2 hours while establishing dosing, explanations and testing. Subsequent visits only took around 10-15 minutes for dispensation.
Once clients were set up on a stable daily dose of buprenorphine, they were considered for maintenance therapy, which involved monthly Sublocade injections. Counseling as part of MAT was mandatory.
To avoid system abuse, the team took great care to dispense medications daily so they could ensure clients were taking their medication as directed.
Day Treatment & Outpatient Drug Rehab Services in Waukesha County
The center also offered a day treatment program for 4 hours a day over 3 days each week. The core elements of this program includes group therapy, stress management, AODA education, and yoga sessions.
Another initiative was Thinking for a Change (T4C), a curriculum shaped by cognitive behavioral techniques designed to address the unhealthy thought patterns that shape and precede behaviors like substance abuse and criminal involvement.
T4C featured social skills development, cognitive restructuring, and supporting participants in the development of problem-solving skills. It was divided into 25 1-2 hour lessons, and implemented through small groups of 8-12 participants over 13 weeks.
Many of the sessions included role-play of concepts, didactic instruction, reviews of lessons, as well as homework assignments in which participants were encouraged to practice the skills they’d learned in their group.

Levels of Care
Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.
Treatments
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
