About Oxford House Hilson
The Oxford House Hilson is a self-run and self-supported sober living home in Nashville, Tennessee. This sober environment is for men in recovery from substance use disorder. Residents generally join an Oxford House after attending a 28 day residential rehab program or a five to ten day detox program. All Oxford Houses are drug and alcohol free homes with no house manager or outside authority.
Living With Structure as You Recover
Oxford House members all pitch in to work on house responsibilities. All residents must be in recovery from addiction and each house must have at least six beds. House members vote on officers of the house who will each serve six month terms. Each resident pays an equal expense share which includes rent, utilities, and any other house expenses. Costs range between $125 to $250 per week. Houses generally have between six and 15 members.
Understanding the Oxford House Model
Oxford Houses live by their nine traditions. These traditions suggest each person should be accountable and responsible. They are not affiliated with AA or NA but suggest that sobriety is strongest when you attend 12 step meetings.
One thing to note is you can stay as a member of the house as long as you like, as long as you’re paying your part of expenses and staying sober.
Oxford Houses are available all over the United States and you can charter your own Oxford House with friends in recovery.

Other Forms of Payment
Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Treatments
The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.
When your day-to-day life is taken over by drug use, this is known as substance use disorder. If you abruptly stop using your drug of choice, you experience withdrawal symptoms. To overcome this cycle, professional drug rehab in Tennessee is usually needed.
Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.
Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
