I did a year and a half at this program. I was an alcoholic with 2 kids who had experienced some high childhood trauma & the very situation I was leaving & walking out of trauma. I had always felt something was wrong with me and later found out I had been masking my own symptoms of adhd and asd. Just found out this year but I went to house of promise July 2019. While I was here I got a Leap surgery which required burning off cervical cancer cells, the staff had a meeting the day of my surgery and my dr had a hard time reaching anyone for over an hour to pick me up after my surgery, they gave me Tylenol and ibuprofen and took my medication for pain and also expected me to show up for their Friday work outs and push through the pain. I was very close to my children through the healing and got equally attached to the other kids, I had two young boys cling to me like a mama who were sweet and even having years of child experience I was still pulled into the directors office and questioned like I was a ped0p4ile. I had finally got my first apartment as a single mom with my two kids and a car, and a part time job at Home Depot, And one day was asked for my phone, the director told me she found a couple of selfies I had sent to my husband where I was wearing darker gothic looking makeup—I did not wear this makeup every day but just for a picture where I wanted to feel beautiful for my husband for once..she called it satanic and demonic looking makeup, and said she found some kind of YouTube video playing a cover of “this is Halloween” and had people throwing pills at the end of the movie which promoted drug use—couldn’t find the video she claimed to found but I gave the benefit of the doubt and told her while I didn’t recall watching something like that maybe one of my kids clicked on something when they were messing with my phone—she proceeded to call me fake and manipulative and completely tore me down with her words and labels and this was all coming from a woman I viewed as my spiritual mother who I had nothing but respect for..she scoffed and smirked and gave me the most evil glares throughout her whole interrogation where she told me I had three days to move out with my kids and they took my car I was given in that program People have pointed out these measures were illegal and I could’ve pursued legal action—I didn’t I was just a scared mom heart broken, who’s own husband didn’t want her and had no family support, I moved in with a coworker and his wife who offered me a spare room with my kids; The few women from this program I was still in contact with informed me there were nasty rumors going around about me 1. That I was using meth 2. That I was jumping around from man to man and entertaining multiple men in my life. These rumors were not only false but very hurtful coming from people I loved and viewed as my spiritual family. What makes me even sadder is that with all my trauma I was so willing to take the blame and be the scapegoat again I truly let Julianne Garton (the director) convince me I was an evil satanic person for only wanting to feel beautiful to my husband who later went to prison anyway.. Thankfully was swarmed by love from my work and many were Christian’s who told me this was not the love of God or how God would treat broken people. I moved up in my job you’d think I would’ve gotten fired for how much meth I was doing according to this programs rumors, but I moved up and eventually moved away and thrived in a greater life where God is using me. I was successfully diagnosed by a doctor and my psychiatrist with asd & adhd as an adult who’s masked these things and didn’t know enough about them..still I always felt like something was wrong with me, I always felt different and slower on how I processed and understood things. I even brought it up to the director who told me “you don’t look like nothing is wrong with you” I edited and redid this review because my first was written out of pure emotion, this version I wrote with full understanding and final healing. Be careful if you check in here!

Other Forms of Payment

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Professional services are often necessary to recover from addiction. Drug rehab in Colorado provides the expert services needed to address the complex issues of addiction and help individuals start their recovery journey.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.

Rehabs for women provide a safe, nurturing space for female clients to heal. These treatment programs consider the specific obstacles that women can face during recovery and place a special emphasis on mental, social, physical, and reproductive health. They explore how each woman's experience has shaped the trajectory of their substance use, addressing issues such as sexual abuse and past trauma.

Clinical Services

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Fitness therapy blends exercise with psychotherapy for a fun, inspiring, and effective way of treating addiction and other issues. By incorporating movement into counseling sessions, clients become more empowered, motivated, and goal-oriented, all while strengthening their bodies and becoming more flexible. Fitness Therapy is usually used to complement a course of treatment (inpatient or outpatient) to make it even more successful. Increasing the connection between a patient’s mind and body helps both with healing as well as in creating new, healthy habits.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.
