I have been through this building on several verying capacities over the years... Most notably when I was interested in KNBA their ol local "native owned and ran" radio station. I was working with local musicians and KNBA asked to promote them as one of the preeminent local musician advocates (arguably THE preeminent local musician advocate... They must have literally thousands of local musicians CDs in their studio 🎙️ curated and cultivated and cued up regularly, some more than others, live on the radio by Loren Dixon, THE voice of KNBA, for quite some time now! If you enjoy their programming, you've certainly heard his perfect-for-the-NPR-crowd calm informative never TOO excited, but never NOT at least a little but excited for things to come, seemingly intrepid irrevocably refreshing cantakerous banter plucking through the chorus of chords that the day can decanter... He's a REAL pro... Don't ya know! But I did l digress. That's on the 4th floor. Yesterday visit was to the 3rd floor (for court appointed alcohol / substance / compliance due to an ongoing fulfillment of my conditions of release upon. I've been spending the last year and change recovering from a charge and resulting 4 months in a box, several in fact, that combined with most of that year tiptoeing through our local pretrial enforcement division (think probation BEFORE actually getting charged... Sort of like the whole guilty before innocent thing is more of "legal technicality" because if I am honest, it felt like I was treated like a criminal and guilty, from the first moment until .. well even NOW actually .. I am still having to jump through hoops resulting from this "crime" and have been treated VASTLY different than others I know that have committed similar "criminal acts" for what I can only assume are preconcluded presumptions based upon social status, presence of a property tax (or house or land ownership ie money) and more consistent income streams. Digress again. So I'm signed up for an assessment to gauge my level of treatment for alcohol and substances in lieu of the more traditional ANGER MANAGEMENT, to fulfill my ALCOHOL SAFETY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (ASAP) otherwise it's back in the box for 15 more days... I guess it's worth it. I'll jump through the hoops to avoid that soul sucking purgatory. I guess they also have all kinds of programs to help native people with all kinds of monetary things and life skills things. All basically free (except you pay in TIME). I'll post another review after my drug and alcohol assessment. Depending on whether it's fine (probably won't post unless it's a Trainwreck or they knock it out of the park!) Wish me luck!

Amazing staff all around. Every counselor I have had was phenomenal, caring and what I really liked was that they had experienced hardship or addiction first hand, so they really knew the struggles. The office staff is great. Michelle is awesome, she's fast, witty and professional. I say professional because on many occasions, I've seen her deal with unreasonable, ornery and straight up rude patients, and she did it calmly, with a smile on her face. Adam is great too. The nursing staff is amazing. Leah and Rosie are a breath of fresh air in the morning. They always have a smile on their faces and seem to genuinely care about the well-being of their patients. I strongly recommend CMS to anyone struggling with addiction.

I'm one of those people who would probably rather die than see a doctor. I'm new to the VA Clinic even though I'm a 20+ year veteran -- I never stepped inside one before. I feel fortunate to have this team see me today, and I'm probably the worse kind of patient to have because I don't wish to do all the screening tests that are needed. I know I need to see health care providers after decades of not seeing anyone and having arthritis issues, but I've no health insurance at this point in my life. Please know that everyone at this VA clinic were all very, VERY kind and understanding. I feel badly for our fellow veterans who said they feel they experienced inadequate care here, but I experienced only top notch care and was treated with ultimate respect. I want to send a HUGE shout-out to Kelly and Melissa at Check-in and Check-out and especially to Krystyna (RN) and Dr, Banczak. They're lovely people and beyond amazing.

I have had nothing but great care from this place. My nurse, Krystina (spelling) is upbeat, ultra helpful , and super nice. I am so glad to have VA care over traditional medical options. The VA provides me top-tier care, and it’s not financially based like traditional healthcare options. They are correcting years of healthcare neglect that occurred because I dislike the medical industrial complex throughout our great country. I love the VA!

My name is Gregory Kimball. I have had 9 providers in the past 3 years. Seven have left the state and I have filed complaints with the Medical Licensing Board concerning the other two. I have been treated at Mat-Su Services for Anxiety and panic attacks. My most current provider there has left the state. I just had an unfortunate encounter with Deborah Bushnell. ANP employed by Mat-su Services. She was aware of my situation, I had explained in detail to Kalen MA I assume.Kalen was very very nice and very professional. Very capable. However, Ms. Bushnell was a different story altogether. While being aware of my past treatment history she thought it would be a great idea idea to accuse me of seeking Xanax and Ambien. This is not true. I have been proscribed both in the past but was not seeking them out. Mr. Bushnell went on to tell me that any problems that I may be having were MY fault and most certainly not her's or the Medical professions. Oh, no. AND, She has two or so years of training to back that up. When my symptoms manifested she lost her mind. She couldn't stand being called out when asked 'Why' I aske her to explain her diagonsis. She became indignant, threw her pen down and declared the visit OVER. I LEFT NO DOUBT AS TO MY FEELINGS ON THE SITUATION. I AM NOT PLAYING WITH THESE PEOPLE ANY LONGER. I am sick and tired of being treated badly by pretenders like Ms. Bushnell. NO MORE! I went to Mat-Su Health Services for help. What Irecieved was absolutly hideous. Ms. Bushnell is incompatant, unprofessional, uncaring, and more interested in reading from a script than actually assisting those whe need it most.. She wears a HUGE CHIP on her shoulder. I have filed a complaint with the Licensing Board although I don't really expect anything come of it. But, its the only recourse I have. In closing, if MUST go to Mat-Su Health Services, Avoid all contact with this woman. She's there for herself, not YOU!. ALL MY BEST, GK.

I was referred here to help manage my medication and mental health for military service connected ptsd and other mental health issues. I was assigned a nurse practitioner who was rude, condescending, accusatory, and would not even talk to me unless I took a drug test during my initial appointment, which I felt was absurd. She didn't like the medications that took me years of trial and error to find that worked well for me, so she took me off of everything and gave me a non stimulant adhd med. I am worse off now with depression and ptsd than before I went in to get help that I never received. When the bill came, it was over $800 for meeting with the NP for about 15 minutes. No follow-up care and I am now out of all meds. I am switching to the VA clinic for actual medical care. This place is not good for mental health conditions at all.

Strong sobriety talks here, good location on West side Anchorage, close to airport for travelers. Both long term and first day of sobriety people to be friends with. Really disappointing it's only open for meeting times, Alcoholics need a coffee place to hang out in from 6am to 9pm. Papa Joe Fuller was correct in the 80s when he and other old timers said, when meetings take over the Alano Clubs, it will no longer be a social gathering place for recovery, it will become a meeting house only, closed between meeting.
