The Ridge is as good as it gets if you’re living near Milford, Ohio. What stood out to me immediately about this center was that they offer a 72 hour professional assessment upon joining. Once you’re assessed, you’ll have options ranging from medically supervised detox to intensive outpatient care. They also offer a professionals’ program that combines traditional treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy and holistic practices like yoga and nutritional counseling.

They have a 4:1 staff to patient ratio and provide luxurious amenities like private rooms, a pool and access to hiking trails and relaxing gardens. Their 12 month alumni program can also keep you connected to alumni events and follow up meetings. Insurance is accepted and more of the benefits they offer can be found on their website.

2. The Recovery Village Columbus Drug & Alcohol Rehab -Columbus, Ohio

The Recovery Village in Columbus, Ohio offers same day medical detox, inpatient rehab and other helpful treatment options. Aside from individual counseling and group therapy, they offer their share of holistic services too such as yoga and mindfulness training. 

But what stood out most to me was that they offer an incredible array of amenities on-site to keep you entertained while you recover. This includes a volleyball court and a pickleball court. You’ll also have access to an indoor pool, shuffleboard, ping-pong, bumper pool and more. They even have an outdoor fire pit for social gatherings under the moonlight, as well as an art studio.

3. New Day Recovery Men’s Residential Program – Newton Falls, Ohio

Located in Newton Falls, Ohio, New Day Recovery is a solid offering for anyone seeking detox or sober living services, as well as men’s residential treatment. They have plenty to offer here with round-the-clock supervision for your entire 7-10 day detox period and special additions like dual diagnosis treatment and medication assisted treatment. One thing that stands out to me is that they also offer outpatient treatment. This includes partial hospitalization care and intensive outpatient treatment, a natural process for you to step down from residential care into something lighter and less intensive.

Our next Columbus, Ohio, clinic is surely a notable one. The Recovery Village offers a weekly recovery compass that assesses your condition and progress through four key indicators: depression, anxiety, sleep, and cravings. They also offer equine-assisted EMDR therapy, which is something pretty unique that I don’t think I’ve seen before.

I love that they even have an on-site art studio with licensed art therapy sessions to encourage you to express yourself creatively. Outside on starry nights, you can enjoy connection with others through their fire pit. It’s a thoughtful addition to traditional therapy. 

There’s a veteran and first responder lounge that provides peer-focused support and a space for you to rest and reset. To top it all off, they’ll give you access to a computer lab and offer telehealth options. Acceptance of insurance will vary at this location.

5. Lumiere Healing Centers – West Chester, Ohio

Another excellent location to seek addiction care services is Lumiere Healing Centers. I give this clinic big credit for offering so many levels of care. Medically managed detox, inpatient residential treatment and standard outpatient care are some of the options you can pursue here. Oh, and let’s not forget their aftercare program. 

When it comes to the therapy itself, you’ll find individual counseling, group therapy, family therapy and treatment modalities like cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy. What’s especially neat is that they offer equine therapy and some more niche offerings like wilderness therapy, art therapy and music therapy. They also make it a point to ensure that you stay sober even after therapy by offering relapse prevention planning. One of the biggest upsides here, though, is their medication assisted treatment, which will help you manage your withdrawal symptoms and maintain your sobriety.
