I haven't had any issues as far as the clinical, and mental health staff, and as far as any other staff, they also are supportive, and are serious as far keeping us all sober. If it wasn't for this place, the alternative would be death, or locked up for me. And I have to say, of all the hospitals I've been too (which has been a lot) this one by far has been the best overall. From the emergency room to the stay overnight rooms. It has always been clean or I see someone cleaning. The nurses, staff, Dr, and professionals I have encountered, have been friendly, knowledgeable, caring, and always take their time talking with me. I have never felt rushed with anyone of them. I jist want to say how appreciative I am to have a hospital where I finally feel peace coming to a hospital and know they will take the best care possible for me. The first time I had been to another hospital jist 2 days prior. That other hospital gave me fluids and a pain med and sent me back out in the waiting room. We've been here for adults, children, and seniors. We have always found the Geauga Hospital to be extremely thorough in the ER. We've had Dr. Durdella several times in the ER, and she is very good at answering questions and explaining things. My father in law has has two admissions to this hospital. The positives: all of the staff except the couple that I name at the bottom are absolutely amazing. I have never felt so much care from staff before! I think the detox setup is the best. I've seen you are very private and separated from residential, which has always been huge for me, because it's very hard to get sober and detox while you are among twenty residential people, that are running around having a great time while you're miserable. That has always been the worst. If you are asleep, they let you sleep. If you are awake, they will take care of whatever you need. The cooks even made me grilled cheese. The first few days that I couldn't eat and maryanne the NP sat me up with a unique plan that made me feel super cared about. You have your own t v in your room with your own a c and that is unheard of.. a side note, I also left ama.A couple of times and they still let me come back, and i'm hoping if the doors always stay open for me. If I need to come back, and I hope that they will based on the great staff that really care. I could go on and on and on. But basically, the staff make this place amazing and it is such a smooth place to detox. I absolutely.I could not let the couple negatives that i'm listing below.Ruin all the positives. This place really is ahead of its time.And a great place. Love you guys... The negatives: Dr kraken (sp?) Was horrible. I came in for an appointment that was set up by Meridian itself. And I waited there for 5 hours because we went with other patients just for him to tell me that it was ridiculous that they sent me. And that I needed to come back tomorrow. Because I wasn't out of detox yet and he wouldn't treat me. But I wasn't staying past the detox So the whole point was to get my appointment, the last day of detox, so I was safe. Add a place before leaving on my m a t I wanted to make sure I was okay first on it. other than that, I experienced one nurse that was talking very negatively towards patients during shift change. But she talked so loud that you could hear everything.And we all heard her talk about how we were all faking our symptoms, and not really that sick.And that we were doing all these things during the night that weren't even true to make us all look bad.And it worked because it made me leave ama ... she was so awful and also talking about the other nurses about how they act like they do so much when they actually do nothing. Sorry, girl, but I'm letting your co-workers know that you talk about them as well as the patients negatively. And your name rhymes with shamey. 🙊 the only other thing i would fix is that they don't keep the outside door to the smoking patio open for detox at least. Like, we could leave if we wanted to multiple other ways. And in detox, you are not doing anything else. So getting to be able to go outside and smoke whenever you want or just go outside. In general is huge, and it's such a hassle to have to get them to open the door give you a lighter, give you a cigarette et. Cetera, and unless you're watching the clock, you have no idea when smoke breaks are and you miss them, and there's so few far in between. Like for real, there is absolutely no need for a lock at the outside period door and we should be able to smoke whenever we want.At least in detox. Is that I saw arre out task? Because honestly I think if you guys changed that the satisfaction rate and detox would be a ten out of a ten which right now, I think it's a 9.7 lol. She spent so much time and effort with me to reach a diagnosis, when I first showed up a year ago feeling upset and uncertain about everything. She is very patient, sympathetic, and reassuring. She’s great at listening to you and adapting to your concerns. She does a wonderful job at answering your questions and making sure you feel good about your treatment plan. Thank you for your help. Leonard Platt 5 months ago I came to the Youngstown, Meridian Rd location to get off of heroin/fentanyl at the end of 2023. The first day i came in to fill out paperwork i could tell i was at the right place. The staff are so caring and even when they're extremely busy they take their time with you no matter what. My only complaint was that my tolerance was so high and they start out every new patient on 30mg. That led me to still use until a couple months later when i finally got up to a higher dosage and they split my daily dose because i have such a high metabolism as found out they testing. Other than that i have absolutely no complaints and would wholeheartedly call a few of the staff friends. They have gone above and beyond for me a few times and i appreciated it so much. Many others will ask how my days going and while I'm at the dosing counter Maria is sure to ask if everything is ok with me which makes me feel great! The first year and a half i had Krista Rubosky as my primary care and MAT physician. Because i drive 63 miles round trip and because i was going thru other medical problems that hadn't been figured out yet, she would do both appointments at the same time on the MAT side. She was so caring and amazing, the best ever, but unfortunately she left there for personal reasons early 2025. As far as all the doctors, nurses and screening personnel, i can't say enough about how good mannered and patient everyone is and i honestly just love them for doing everything in their power to make us patients feel like someone actually cares and takes the time to do so. My heart goes out to all the employees and especially my counselor Abby. She's helped me more than i actually think she even knows. I've never been to a counselor before but it's been a pleasure being with her. I'll be moving next month out of state and I've got to say, i will wholeheartedly miss each and everyone of the employees at the Meridian Health Campus in Youngstown Ohio on Meridian road. I will genuinely miss our interactions every two weeks on my pick up day. Thanks for everything everyone and to anyone thinking of coming here, do it! You will not be disappointed and don't pay attention to some of the above comments degrading this place. Like anything, you get out what you give in. Simple as that🙂 Have a great day and good luck!! The staff here is absolutely incredible they were always there for me when I needed help or someone to talk to. Chris is an incredible caring man. Melissa and Tracy were always so sweet, kind, helpful and uplifting. The facilitators Rob, Shiann, Maddie, Charisma, Hazel were great teachers with alot of advice. Kristen the case manager was truly an inspiration along with a few others. The general staff were always there to talk to if needed. I will always have a place in my heart for this staff. A huge thank you to Ashlee, Keia, Sharon and Natalie yall were a big part of my success at the house and I will forever be thankful to have met you all. If you need help with addiction do not be afraid to reach out to townhall 2 and get the help you need. These negative comments are probably people who didnt truly want the help.
