Omg. Be careful what you say to them if going for counseling or medication. They area JOKE.i accidentally saw my record & it had three diagnosis that I DO NOT HAVE. I also reported that I occasionally have a glass of wine before bed when I can't get to sleep & I was labeled an alcoholic! I drink maybe one drink every few weeks at most due to acid reflux. And one of their counselors FELL ASLEEP while on our television. I definitely plan to sue them. Avoid at all costs

Accepted Insurance

Charak Center for Health and Wellness works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Financial aid can take many forms. Centers may have grants or scholarships available to clients who meet eligibility requirements. Programs that receive SAMHSA grants may have financial aid available for those who need treatment as well. Grants and scholarships can help you pai for treatment without having to repay.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient
Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.
inpatient iconInpatient
Clients who have just completed detox or who are at an increased risk of relapse, such as those experiencing a life crisis, typically enroll in an inpatient rehab. There, they receive housing, meals, and intensive clinical supervision. Inpatient treatment typically involves extensive individual, group, and family therapy. Clients may also participate in life skills training to support their long-term sobriety. Integrative rehab centers offer a variety of evidence-based holistic therapies, such as meditation or equine therapy.
intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient
Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.
aftercare iconAftercare Support
Rehab aftercare programs are designed to ensure clients receive continuing care while in the maintenance phase of recovery. Some clients may be in outpatient treatment, which is generally considered to be an element of drug rehab aftercare. The specific services provided in these programs are often determined by the client's case manager and care team in consultation with the client. Common services include peer coaching, career counseling, and 12 step program induction.
12-step icon12-Step
12-step programs are addiction recovery models based on Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). A number of substance abuse programs (including some drug and alcohol rehab centers) use the 12 steps as a basis for treatment. Beginning steps involve admitting powerlessness over the addiction and creating a spiritual basis for recovery. Middle steps including making direct amends to those who've been hurt by the addiction, and the final step is to assist others in addiction recovery in the same way. 12-Step offshoots including Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Cocaine Anonymous (CA), Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous (SLAA) and Gamblers Anonymous (GA).

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in Ohio provides comprehensive treatment to address the physical and psychological needs of those struggling with substance use disorders. This may involve inpatient and/or outpatient care.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

A combined mental health and substance abuse rehab has the staff and resources available to handle individuals with both mental health and substance abuse issues. It can be challenging to determine where a specific symptom stems from (a mental health issue or an issue related to substance abuse), so mental health and substance abuse professionals are helpful in detangling symptoms and keeping treatment on track.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image
Adult Program
Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image
Young Adult Program
Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.
military-program thumbnail image
Military Program
Serving in the military is both mentally and physically challenging, and can result in trauma that persists even after combat ends. Military programs are tailored to the specific and often complex needs of active duty personnel, veterans, and military families. Clients often access these programs through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).

Clinical Services

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a therapy modality that focuses on the relationship between one's thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is used to establish and allow for healthy responses to thoughts and feelings (instead of unhealthy responses, like using drugs or alcohol). CBT has been proven effective for recovering addicts of all kinds, and is used to strengthen a patient's own self-awareness and ability to self-regulate. CBT allows individuals to monitor their own emotional state, become more adept at communicating with others, and manage stress without needing to engage in substance abuse.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a treatment designed to help people understand and ultimately affect the relationship between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. DBT is often used for individuals who struggle with self-harm behaviors, such as self-mutilation (cutting) and suicidal thoughts, urges, or attempts. It has been proven clinically effective for those who struggle with out-of-control emotions and mental health illnesses like Borderline Personality Disorder.

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Therapists who apply motivational interviewing in Ohio don't try to confront clients or force advice onto them. Instead, they listen and come alongside clients to help them explore why and how they might decide to make changes for themselves.

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.

Whether a marriage or other committed relationship, an intimate partnership is one of the most important aspects of a person's life. Drug and alcohol addiction affects both members of a couple in deep and meaningful ways, as does rehab and recovery. Couples therapy and other couples-focused treatment programs are significant parts of exploring triggers of addiction, as well as learning how to build healthy patterns to support ongoing sobriety.

Research clearly demonstrates that recovery is far more successful and sustainable when loved ones like family members participate in rehab and substance abuse treatment. Genetic factors may be at play when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, as well as mental health issues. Family dynamics often play a critical role in addiction triggers, and if properly educated, family members can be a strong source of support when it comes to rehabilitation.

Dr. Ranjan did not call in my grandmothers prescriptions after visit. No excuses!!! 4 days later scripts were still not called in for a severely depressed patient. Delivery service is extremely unreliable and can’t give us an answer on if they got the prescription and if they can even deliver it. Dr Ranjan was constantly on cell phone during virtual visit and used students for 7 of the 15 minutes of the visit for basic assessment. This place is a joke. Dr should be reported. Almost predatory what this practice is doing especially for older patients who are relying on their “home delivery”. Week after week clients are billed for these virtual visits and the Dr can’t even have the decency to make sure meds are at the pharmacy that HE OWNS!!! Claims he is “too busy running the practice”. This is absolutely inexcusable. Avoid at all costs.

Friendly enough staff but doc kept me on a med that was not helping me for a year and a half. I suffered needlessly. Moved to another city and they changed my med and I got my brain back. Docs need to listen to their clients and actually help them. It was unnecessary cruel punishment for me to live in horror for a year and a half when my new doc fixed the issue with one visit. It's hard to do but if your doc refuses to help you go to another one even in another city, the answer is out there. Some docs, though nice, don't actually care that you are suffering. Shameful that people suffer when there are actually things that can help them. That's a year and a half of torture, and I can't get that year and a half back. But living my best life now thanks to SWITCHING DOCS!!!

I was very skeptical to seek help as I have not had great experiences with therapy throughout my life. Dr. Annikeev made me feel amazing! He truly listened to me. He helped me find a medication that works for me and I have never felt better in my entire life and I’m looking forward to the future in a way that I never have! I cannot recommend him enough

The worst doctors office I’ve ever had to deal with. They do not answer the phone, so it’s near impossible to schedule appointments or follow ups. They do not return messages, so if you need a medication refill? Good luck. I’ve been without my meds for a month now and that was after I made a payment on my account. I left a message for the billing office to take care of the balance, haven’t heard back about that either. Oh but I DO get their robo calls daily, sometimes multiple times a day, about a study opportunity! So now I’m going through withdrawal symptoms from my medications that their doctor in their office prescribed me, all because this place is either understaffed, lazy, incompetent or all of the above. I shouldn’t have to beg to pay my bill with a payment arrangement, get an appointment or a refill. You guys should be shut down! I have to start at square one somewhere else. So if anyone has found any GOOD places to go, hmu.

Prior to 2024, going to Charak was pleasant; there were occasionally issues, but those were cleared up. The receptionist was great, the office staff were helpful, and my NP was great as well, and always looked out for me. However, at the start of 2024, my experience there started to truly go bad, due to whoever the new person at the front desk was; I never got her name, she claimed to be the practice manager, and she is the reason I will be finding a new doctor’s office. I have never had a worse experience with a receptionist, she had 0 care for my experience, was insanely rude, and always made it seem like doing her job was a chore. The 1st time I dealt with her in February, she brought up that I had a statement balance of almost $1000 that I was going to have to pay, which I knew was incorrect. After some back and forth, we found out my insurance had been switched to self-pay in October 2023, which was a mistake on their end. I provided my insurance card again and went to my appointment. After returning, she stated the insurance I provided was not valid, even though it had been since 2022, and sternly stated that I was going to have to pay, again. After a bit of arguing, she begrudgingly called the insurance company to determine if the coverage had ever been dropped. I was baffled, she was incredibly rude to whoever was on the phone from the insurance, constantly interrupting them and getting incredibly aggressive with them; eventually she gave up and hung up. Without having figured anything out, she then, a 3rd time, sternly stated I was going to have to pay. I stated I wasn't going to be paying until I had determined what the situation was with my insurance, because she gave up before getting an answer, almost like it wasn't worth her time. She then reluctantly reached out to the billing office, and after some back and forth, was seemingly told to stop what she was doing and that they would figure it out. She tried 3 whole times to get me to pay an insane bill that was very much wrong and was nothing but rude and demanding when I was trying to figure out what was going on. My next visit was okay since things had been cleared up billing-wise, however my visit in April was another awful experience. After going to my appointment and coming back to the desk, she stated I had a high balance again, which seemed off, so I asked to see the statement before paying. The last 3 months with her there, it always seemed like she was having an issue with the printer, that it was a big deal, and that she wasn't going to be able to get me a statement, making excuse after excuse, which led to more arguing because I needed the statements to send to my insurance, but she was always so stuck on getting payments instead of helping figure out what was up when there were clear issues. You're telling me during the last three months I've come in for visits, there's always been an issue with the printer on that day? As I'm trying to state that I may need to step out and call my insurance before I paid, she made some vague threats about how if I didn't pay then they wouldn't refill my prescriptions until I did. At this point she finally got the statement out after bickering with me, and I could see that there were multiple charges on it from older visits instead of a single visit, which cleared up the concerns I had. The whole time she was nothing but rude and argumentative, even falsely stating at one point something about from when my insurance seemingly got rejected back in January and that the balance was what it was. She just straight up lied to me to reinforce that I was going to have to pay what was there, and that was that. I will not be going back, and until disciplinary action has been taken against whoever this practice manager is for the way she treats patients, I will be directing others to steer clear. Shoutout to the care-coordinator at Charak, Brooke, she is phenomenal, and has been great throughout all of this.
