Clear Path Clinic in St. Petersburg, Florida, is an outpatient addiction treatment center that offers medication treatment for addiction. The clinic is staffed with experienced doctors, and clients generally have short wait times. They also offer primary care services to you at no additional cost. Patients can use Medicare or insurance to pay for addiction services, and primary care services can be provided without insurance.
Clear Path Clinic offers four different medications that clients can use to help relieve their withdrawal symptoms. Depending on your needs, your physician may administer buprenorphine, Suboxone, Vivitrol or Sublocade.
All of these medications are FDA approved and can be effective at decreasing your opioid cravings. Vivitrol can also be effective at blocking the effects of alcohol on your brain. Your physician will consult with you to determine which medication is best for your needs. It’s important to note that this facility only provides medication and does not provide addiction counseling services.
The physicians at the facility are ready to provide treatment for other issues affecting your health. Some of the issues that they can assist with include Hepatitis C, Obesity, and Hypertension. Hepatitis C is an ailment that often spreads to individuals through IV drug use. The staff will provide you with medication to treat this condition without minimal side effects. You can start receiving primary care services by scheduling an appointment or walking in.
Located on 4th Street, it’s conveniently not far from downtown St. Petersburg. In between your treatments, you can enjoy activities like visiting Sunken Gardens or checking out the St. Pete Pier.
Our Methodology
Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.
Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.
Inpatient

This is a great place. The woman at the front desk is always very friendly. When I first came here, multiple pharmacies were out of Suboxone. She and the doctor went above and beyond to make sure I got my medication that day. Dr Puente is caring, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Eventually I switched to Dr Puente for my psychiatric care also, and have had an excellent experience. The level of care he provides for his patients is better than any doctor I have ever had. I drive 40 miles one way to see Dr Puente. To anyone struggling, I highly recommend this office and doctor.
I have had a wonderful experience with Dr. Puente. When I first walked through the doors a few months ago I was a complete mess. I was anxious and in a bad spot. First off let me say that I am so very very grateful to have found this place!!!... obviously we come into places like this when we are not at our highest points in life, but it truly was one of the best decisions I could have possibly made, I can almost say that it did save my life.. I am so very grateful for going ahead and making that step. When I finally made that decision and called, they were able to get me in the very next day which was awesome because if you are in this you know sometimes you will change your mind on a dime. They truly do understand how important your life really is and I couldn't Express on how much the doc really does care about you and your well-being and your mental space... They have been nothing but supportive helpful caring and kind!!!.. Sometimes when you're down and out, that is really important when someone does that and they do, they care!!!... it has been the absolute easiest communication with the doc, he has helped out not only with my mental and my addiction but also he does his best to help you save money on your prescriptions and has been a wealth of knowledge about getting clean... This doctor helped me change my way of thinking, he has helped me change my quality of life, since starting this program my whole life has turned around new job, new car, new house just all around being a better human being... Truly cannot say thank you enough to them and the gratitude that I have for the doc and the staff. One of addiction Dr in the area . God guided me to his office after praying for God to find me a good doctor. THE Dr completely understands addiction and is non judgmental. He is very good at listening to patients and learning from them also . Along with his years of experience and education. Myself and God highly suggest this doctors office. Today I started my experience with clear path clinic. I came from a doctor making me pay around 300+ for my treatment and to talk. The woman up front was amazing. Very humble and positive and no judgement when explaining my issues and taking care of me. Doctor P I just met but he helped open different ideas and coping mechanisms that will help me more than what I was hearing from my psychiatrist that just charged the meter for over 4+ years. Plus they do primary care so I will probably be switching my primary care to them also. Glad I found this clinic and doctor. Thank you for the great service and respect.
Very good place from the receptionist to the doctor and the doctor is best doctor he is very knowledgeable would recommend him highly for suboxone.
