About the Facility

Community Healthlink - Faith House is a 25-bed, six-month residential recovery home for women located in Worcester, Massachusetts. Their goal is to help women experience a sense of empowerment, personal accountability, and the ability to live a life of recovery.

Community Healthlink – Faith House provides addiction treatment, mental health counseling, group therapy, case management services, domestic violence counseling, parenting classes, and vocational training for women within a safe residential recovery home. The Faith House has two rooms dedicated to pregnant or postpartum women.

Residential treatment for women at Faith House includes living in a safe and structured environment where mental and physical stabilization can occur. Once the substances are removed from the body, deeper healing can begin. Counseling, case management, and group therapy serve to assist women in healing the addiction and creating a foundation for long-term sobriety to begin. Treatment of issues such as domestic violence, and other traumatic events is offered to increase the likelihood of success without drugs or alcohol in the future.

Mental health counseling at Faith House is focused on helping heal the issues women experience in relation to their addiction. Parenting and family concerns, abuse, and mental health challenges are dealt with in session. Learning new coping strategies and life skills is incorporated into the counseling process.

Sober Living Houses, or halfway houses, are safe, substance-free, supportive living facilities for those recovering from substance abuse. Often these homes are utilized post inpatient to help create a stable environment while slowly reintegrating back into society. Faith House is open to pregnant women and postpartum women who need assistance while allowing their baby to stay with them throughout their treatment.

Group therapy involves treatment through the process of connecting in a group setting to discuss and work through mental, emotional, and physical issues. There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more.

Medically Assisted Detox

Medically supervised detox is the process of removing addictive substances from your body and managing the withdrawal symptoms in a medically supervised environment. Typically, this is the first step in the recovery process and lasts an average of 5-7 days, though the length can vary depending on your individual needs. Once your system is cleared of alcohol and drugs, you’ll likely transition to an inpatient treatment program for the next phase of your recovery.

Inpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Sober Living Homes

A sober living home offers a supportive environment where individuals in recovery provide mutual support as they share household responsibilities. Individual Therapy

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

Life Skills

Life skills trainings involve all the skills a person must have in order to function successfully in the world. These include time management, career guidance, money management, and effective communication. Truly successful addiction recovery is based on the ability to not only live substance-free, but to thrive. Life skills teaches the practical necessities of functioning in society, which sets clients up for success in life, and therefore sobriety.

Trauma Therapy

Trauma therapy addresses traumatic incidents from a client's past that are likely affecting their present-day experience. Trauma is often one of the primary triggers and potential causes of addiction, and can stem from child sexual abuse, domestic violence, having a parent with a mental illness, losing one or both parents at a young age, teenage or adult sexual assault, or any number of other factors. The purpose of trauma therapy is to allow a patient to process trauma and move through and past it, with the help of trained and compassionate mental health professionals.
