Fred Brown Recovery Services truly changed my life. I originally came here just to meet court requirements, but this program gave me something I didn’t expect: hope. Now, I genuinely want to live a sober life—not just for court, but for me. The support here is incredible. The staff go above and beyond—Ms. Le Ann, who facilitates groups, truly cares about every single client. I’m so grateful to have her in my journey. Charlotte is a wonderful counselor, Sarina is an amazing case manager, Brandon teaches health and wellness in orientation and makes it engaging, and Stacy is a fantastic therapist. Everyone here plays a vital role in helping us heal. There’s even a doctor on-site. The program starts with two weeks of orientation, and then you’re placed into ongoing group therapy tailored to your needs. You also meet weekly with your counselor and case manager, which helps keep you on track. You’re required to attend 5 AA meetings a week, which helps build a strong recovery foundation. If you’re on Medi-Cal, they offer Recovery Bridge Housing (RBH), which allows you to live in a safe, clean house with about 10 other women and a house manager. The houses are spacious, well-maintained, and a supportive environment for growth. Medi-Cal even covers Lyft rides to and from the facility, which makes everything so accessible. They also have food trucks come multiple times a week to your house! Peer support staff are available to help with court or legal matters, and there are so many resources here to help you get back on your feet—whether you’re coming out of addiction or jail. The full program is six months, but they do offer extensions. Fred Brown also has a residential program for men and RBH for everyone. This place is more than just rehab—it’s a foundation for a better future. If you’re serious about changing your life, this is the place to do it. I’m so grateful I ended up here.

Accepted Insurance

Fred Brown Recovery Services works with several private insurance providers and also accepts private payments when possible, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Sliding scale payments are based on a client's income and family size. The goal is to make treatment affordable to everyone. By taking these factors into account, addiction recovery care providers help ensure that your treatment does not become a financial burden to you or your family, eliminating one barrier to care.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

outpatient iconOutpatient

Outpatient Programs (OP) are for those seeking mental rehab or drug rehab, but who also stay at home every night. The main difference between outpatient treatment (OP) and intensive outpatient treatment (IOP) lies in the amount of hours the patient spends at the facility. Most of the time an outpatient program is designed for someone who has completed an inpatient stay and is looking to continue their growth in recovery. Outpatient is not meant to be the starting point, it is commonly referred to as aftercare.

intensive-outpatient iconIntensive Outpatient

Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are for those who want or need a very structured treatment program but who also wish to live at home and continue with certain responsibilities (such as work or school). IOP substance abuse treatment programs vary in duration and intensity, and certain outpatient rehab centers will offer individualized treatment programs.

inpatient iconInpatient

Residential treatment programs are those that offer housing and meals in addition to substance abuse treatment. Rehab facilities that offer residential treatment allow patients to focus solely on recovery, in an environment totally separate from their lives. Some rehab centers specialize in short-term residential treatment (a few days to a week or two), while others solely provide treatment on a long-term basis (several weeks to months). Some offer both, and tailor treatment to the patient's individual requirements.

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.

Many of those suffering from addiction also suffer from mental or emotional illnesses like schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety disorders. Rehab and other substance abuse facilities treating those with a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder administer psychiatric treatment to address the person's mental health issue in addition to drug and alcohol rehabilitation.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

adult-program thumbnail image

Adult Program

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
young-adult-program thumbnail image

Young Adult Program

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

Group therapy is any therapeutic work that happens in a group (not one-on-one). There are a number of different group therapy modalities, including support groups, experiential therapy, psycho-education, and more. Group therapy involves treatment as well as processing interaction between group members.

Great program with helpful staff EXCEPT 505 s. Pacific ave. Director "Adrian" He's so rude and handling client like Criminal & human terminal Scabies.I think he's a homicide detective, he always does like that. CEO Roxanna Natale Brown should fire him right away.

Do not put your full faith in this program. They will throw you out for not having a sponsor. I understand a sponsor is supposed to help you with the 12 steps. But, to throw someone out for not having a sponsor is backwards. I thought you throw people out if they relapse. But, even when they relapse. You supposed to help them get back in inpatient. Witch some people they do help. An, these are the one's they have favoritism for. Funny how you can be sober. An, get throw out for not having a sponsor. Are they what to put a curfew on you for not having a sponsor. Curfew is 10:00pm. An, if you don't have no sponsor. They try to make your curfew 8:00pm. The start time to leave the house is from 6AM to 10PM. Every time I look up. It's some drama with the staff. Are some drama at the RBH housing. There are only a few staff members that are cool. But, most of them want to play mind games with the patience.

Couldn’t even speak to the CEO when I got unfairly discharged. I didn’t even have a face to face talk to the CEO/Director. I never relapsed like other clients and still they got a second chance. Staff and Counselors there play favoritism and are very discriminatory against patients. Roxanna Natale-Brown is this mystery woman that no client can seem to talk to or see and she is the “CEO”. Yesinia the counselor is very unprofessional and should give up being a counselor. When I was “discharged” she gave me bogus referrals to treatment centers when I was already at their Soberliving and never even relapsed. The whole point of me being in Soberliving is because I transitioned from a treatment center. People have their different experience with Fred Brown, but mine was Horrible, and I don’t recommend a friend or family member to go through Fred Brown.
