About New Vision – Cass Regional Medical Center

Next to Parris Park on the eastern side of Harrisonville, Missouri, you’ll find the Cass Regional Medical Center (CRMC). This hospital is fully equipped to provide for a number of physical and mental healthcare needs, including the needs of those looking to break free from addiction.

Through their New Vision program, they provide a safe space to go through detox and help with planning the next step in your recovery journey.

Making Detox Safe

Depending on the substance and the duration of use, detox can often be uncomfortable and even dangerous. At New Vision, they address both of these hurdles by monitoring your symptoms and providing medical care when needed, even if it’s just to keep you more relaxed.

Because this service is offered in a hospital, they’re open 24 hours a day to receive individuals experiencing substance related emergencies and help stabilize their symptoms.

Establishing a Discharge Plan

During the typical three day stay at the CRMC, they’ll also give you a few counseling sessions to evaluate your needs and learn more about your background.

With this information, they’ll put together a discharge plan that will give you helpful options for your next steps. They can also provide a referral to a trusted facility.

Accepted Insurance

Please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

New Vision – Cass Regional Medical Center works with several private insurance providers, please contact to verify your specific insurance provider.

Other Forms of Payment

Medicaid is a state based program that helps lower-income individuals and families pay for healthcare. Medicaid covers addiction treatment so those enrolled can use their coverage to pay for rehab. When a program accepts Medicaid the client often pays very little or nothing out of their own pocket.

Medicare is a federal program that provides health insurance for those 65 and older. It also serves people under 65 with chronic and disabling health challenges. To use Medicare for addiction treatment you need to find a program that accepts Medicare and is in network with your plan. Out of pocket costs and preauthorization requirements vary, so always check with your provider.

Military members, veterans, and eligible dependents have access to specific insurance programs that help them get the care they need. TRICARE and VA insurance can help you access low cost or no cost addiction and mental health treatment. Programs that accept military insurance often have targeted treatment focused on the unique challenges military members, veterans, and their families face.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

A partial hospitalization program (PHP) is a short-term form of intensive rehab, usually for those with acute symptoms that are hard to manage but don’t require 24-hour care. PHPs have structured programming (i.e. individual and/or group therapy), and usually meet 3-5 days a week for around 6 hours (i.e. 9am-3m). Some PHPs are residential (patients sleep on site) and some are not, so patients sleep at home. PHPs can last from 1-6 months, and some offer transportation and meals.

Treatments

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

My experience: After scheduling detox to quit taking "prescribed" pain meds, and after scheduling 3 days off of work, I checked in. After reaching my room, I NEVER received ANY comfort meds, even though I was told by my nurse and my doctor that I would. They both told me that in 20 minutes, I would receive comfort meds, and then in a few hours, I would receive detox meds. After 5 hours from talking to the nurse and the doctor, and asking multiple times for comfort meds, I was told by the Charge Nurse that I would NOT be getting ANY detox meds for 72 hours, not a few hours like the nurse and doctor said. Also, I still hadn’t even received any comfort meds. So, since everybody lied to me, I told the nurses at the nursing station, that I can't wait for 3 more days, and I told them I wanted to leave. However, the door was locked, and they wouldn’t unlock it unless I signed an AMA (against medical advice) form. So, I was basically held against my will unless I signed that form. I had no choice but to sign it if I wanted them to unlock the door so I could leave. The next day I spoke with New Vision's Regional Supervisor about my bad experience, and she told me that I wouldn’t be charged for anything for the 5 hours I was there, since I didn't get any meds whatsoever. I just received a bill in the mail that said New Vision charged almost $5,000 for that nightmare. My insurance paid a portion of that bill, but they are demanding that I pay a co-pay of $330. I was considering not leaving this review, but when I called the Intake staff at New Vision, a guy hung up on me. I tried calling back but he hung up on me again. Then the Intake supervisor called me 10 minutes later, and was extremely rude, wouldn’t let me talk, and hung up on me also. I’ve NEVER experienced such rude people in my life. They are the worst of the worst with professionalism. I will be telling everyone I know about my experience with New Vision. I going to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and the Board of Medicine, about their corrupt practices, and their negligence. My advice for anyone seeking detox with New Vision. RUN THE OTHER WAY!
