About AA – Alcoholicos Anonimos
The AA program operates nationwide and is well-known. The 12 Steps help participants maintain freedom from substance use, and there are 12 Traditions that govern how AA operates. There are a variety of different meeting types, including Big Book, newcomer, discussion, gender-specific meetings, speaker, and living sober.
Members of AA are those who have made a commitment to stop using alcohol. They are supported one-on-one by a sponsor and also receive encouragement from group members. AA members may participate in community service projects and also get life-skills education such as accountability, coping skills, self-care, and deepening their spiritual practice.
AA – Alcoholicos Anonimos doesn’t charge a fee, although they may take a freewill offering. They may refer members to additional alcohol or drug rehab services. These services may accept insurance plans such as Humana, Cigna, United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Beacon, and ComPsych. Each insurance plan is different, so be sure to verify out-of-network benefits and coverage details with your insurer directly.

Treatments
The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.
Drug rehab in California teaches participants constructive ways to stay clean and sober. Treatment revolves around helping individuals stop using the substance they are addicted to and learn healthy habits to avoid relapse.
Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.
