I have been through this building on several verying capacities over the years... Most notably when I was interested in KNBA their ol local "native owned and ran" radio station. I was working with local musicians and KNBA asked to promote them as one of the preeminent local musician advocates (arguably THE preeminent local musician advocate... They must have literally thousands of local musicians CDs in their studio 🎙️ curated and cultivated and cued up regularly, some more than others, live on the radio by Loren Dixon, THE voice of KNBA, for quite some time now! If you enjoy their programming, you've certainly heard his perfect-for-the-NPR-crowd calm informative never TOO excited, but never NOT at least a little but excited for things to come, seemingly intrepid irrevocably refreshing cantakerous banter plucking through the chorus of chords that the day can decanter... He's a REAL pro... Don't ya know! But I did l digress.
That's on the 4th floor. Yesterday visit was to the 3rd floor (for court appointed alcohol / substance / compliance due to an ongoing fulfillment of my conditions of release upon. I've been spending the last year and change recovering from a charge and resulting 4 months in a box, several in fact, that combined with most of that year tiptoeing through our local pretrial enforcement division (think probation BEFORE actually getting charged... Sort of like the whole guilty before innocent thing is more of "legal technicality" because if I am honest, it felt like I was treated like a criminal and guilty, from the first moment until .. well even NOW actually .. I am still having to jump through hoops resulting from this "crime" and have been treated VASTLY different than others I know that have committed similar "criminal acts" for what I can only assume are preconcluded presumptions based upon social status, presence of a property tax (or house or land ownership ie money) and more consistent income streams.
Digress again.
So I'm signed up for an assessment to gauge my level of treatment for alcohol and substances in lieu of the more traditional ANGER MANAGEMENT, to fulfill my ALCOHOL SAFETY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (ASAP) otherwise it's back in the box for 15 more days... I guess it's worth it. I'll jump through the hoops to avoid that soul sucking purgatory.
I guess they also have all kinds of programs to help native people with all kinds of monetary things and life skills things. All basically free (except you pay in TIME).
I'll post another review after my drug and alcohol assessment. Depending on whether it's fine (probably won't post unless it's a Trainwreck or they knock it out of the park!)
Wish me luck!

This place is so incredibly frustrating! We first stopped going to them because you can not get medications whatsoever from them. You can leave message after message after message and no one will ever call you back. You can go to the front desk and they will tell you that you can not speak to a nurse, but they will relay the message. The same message that you have been trying to get to them for weeks with no return. I finally left and just went to my pediatrician to get my sons medicine.Because I could not get anywhere else to see my son, I, so hesitantly went back here and we are going on appointment number three that they have canceled and tried to reschedule . Each rescheduling being at least one month out. Their management is HORRIBLE!! My son has been waiting for almost a year now and we still have yet to have an appointment follow through. This is the worst medical facility that I have ever encountered! So sad bc they kids desperately need help!

UPDATED REVIEW: Front desk has gotten better about answering phone calls! My psych provider Shannon Buckner & my counselor Nicole Jenkins are both AMAZING providers! I am forever grateful for their care & how much they’ve helped me in the last 5 months! I’ve never trusted/felt comfortable w/ a counselor more than I have w/ Nicole Jenkins! I highly recommend their providers!
My experience definitely did not start off good. I had someone give me the wrong information for my appt (Telehealth, was given wrong person’s login), waited 5mins past my appt before I tried calling the front desk. (Providers run late) I could not reach anyone at the front desk, I called 13 times and only got voicemail. So I called the nurse line, the nurse was extremely unhelpful, sent me back to the front desk VM. I then decided to call the BILLING department, at this point my appt is well over.
I reached a lovely gentleman named Jay in Billing. He proceeded to call the front desk, when he couldn’t reach he said he had emailed them and to wait for a call. Someone did call me back to R/S shortly after he emailed, she informed me she was the ONLY ONE at the front desk… no bueno! So she apologized and got me set up for later that same day for my FIRST appt w/ my counselor. (Hence why I was so agitated. I needed this first session)
Jay also FOLLOWED UP the next day to make sure I received a call back. I appreciate his kindness and his outstanding work ethic. :) thanks to him, I am content w/ services.
(My counselor was also pretty cool so far)

Anchorage, Alaska | Alano Club, located in Anchorage, Alaska, is a 12-Step program available to all individuals seeking support with overcoming addiction They provide a wide variety of programs including AA, Al-anon, business meetings, Anchorage area meetings, and statewide meetings. If the addiction is in an acute phase, treatment at a drug rehab center may be necess | Treatments Programs | I transferred from the stellar juneau clinic after some awful life changes and the move was quick as my husband and I were switching jobs, I have been a phase 27 for almost 4 years when I transferred. Juneau did not send my complete records but they did send enough that this clinic had knowledge I was a model patient and had my 27 for quite some time. I have been a methadone patient for 11 years and MAT saved my life. When I entered treatment I was serious about being sober. It took so much work to get to that phase and I am very proud to say that I have ALWAYS been told at every clinic I have been to that I am one of their best patients and they wish all their patients were as dedicated to recovery as I am. The day I came in for intake I met with a lady that was supposed to be my counselor and she was nice enough but when she took my history she got it all wrong and even put down that I was suicidal!!! I was the farthest thing from it. There was a question about if you have ever been suicidal and I said yes when I was using drugs I was suicidal! Many of us are or reach that point when we are at our worst but that was almost a decade ago! I was immediately told I would not be getting my 27 bottles any longer and was given no real reason until weeks later when I continued to question why or how I could remedy that situation because I was working and having to go into work late every other week was becoming an issue and aside from that I had done nothing wrong but I kept getting told that once ALL my records came then maybe I could get them back. I did all I could I to help obtain my missing records but they did have enough records that showed I was a phase 27 and that ALL my drug screens were ALWAYS clean. When I finally was able to sit down and talk to a lady with longer blonde hair because I wanted to understand exactly what they wanted for me to get back on track she told me that my sudden decision to move from Juneau to anchorage and take another job while I had three children shows instability!! I was floored, I had two special needs children and Juneau had very little medical care and while the move and job change was quick because the company needed us to start quickly the fact that they said that showed instability. I felt incredibly judged and explained very respectfully that I was sorry they felt that way but I still didn’t feel that was a legitimate reason to treat me the way that they were treating me. The doctor I saw was a lady and she was extremely cold, with zero bedside manner and who knows maybe she was burnt out by all the people who abuse the MAT system but regardless I feel like each patient should be treated as a individual and that their track record in treatment should reflect on them. Every clinic I have been to before that one has showed me compassion support and treated me as my own person and I had some level of trust with them because of my track record. This place truly gave me ptsd, I tried so hard to jump through every single hoop they wanted and even when I did that I was still treated like crap. I began to become a nervous wreck and truly for the very first time since I was in treatment for all these years I felt the least stable at this clinic, I honestly have not have cravings in YEARS but while at this clinic they made it so difficult that there were several times I broke down in tears and thought to myself it would be easier just to go and get drugs then to keep trying with this place. The final straw was being called and told that I had a diluted drug screen which I had no clue what that even was but they said I had to come for a bottle check and new drug screen which I did but they were going to take me down from two weeks to one week or maybe even dose me daily. I came in passed the bottle check and my drug screen and told them I was transferring and they let me keep my two weeks to transfer with but when I told the lady I truly had done nothing to my “diluted” drug screen she treated me as if I most certainly had tried to cheat it.. don’t go here!!!
