Addiction Treatments

Treatments

The goal of treatment for alcoholism is abstinence. Those with poor social support, poor motivation, or psychiatric disorders tend to relapse within a few years of treatment. For these people, success is measured by longer periods of abstinence, reduced use of alcohol, better health, and improved social functioning. Recovery and Maintenance are usually based on 12 step programs and AA meetings.

The goal of drug rehab in Wisconsin is to address drug addiction as a complex issue that involves physical, mental, and relational aspects. During rehab, treatment focuses on each of these areas and gives you the tools you need to achieve and maintain sobriety.

Opioid rehabs specialize in supporting those recovering from opioid addiction. They treat those suffering from addiction to illegal opioids like heroin, as well as prescription drugs like oxycodone. These centers typically combine both physical as well as mental and emotional support to help stop addiction. Physical support often includes medical detox and subsequent medical support (including medication), and mental support includes in-depth therapy to address the underlying causes of addiction.

Substance rehabs focus on helping individuals recover from substance abuse, including alcohol and drug addiction (both illegal and prescription drugs). They often include the opportunity to engage in both individual as well as group therapy.

Programs

Young adulthood can be an exciting, yet difficult, time of transition. Individuals in their late teens to mid-20s face unique stressors related to school, jobs, families, and social circles, which can lead to a rise in substance use. Rehab centers with dedicated young adult programs will include activities and amenities that cater to this age group, with an emphasis on specialized counseling, peer socialization, and ongoing aftercare.

Clinical Services

In individual therapy, a patient meets one-on-one with a trained psychologist or counselor. Therapy is a pivotal part of effective substance abuse treatment, as it often covers root causes of addiction, including challenges faced by the patient in their social, family, and work/school life.

This is unfortunately the first negative review I’ve ever felt compelled to write. My experience with Jillian was consistently frustrating, as I often felt dismissed, unheard, and rushed, and talked to in a rude manner when discussing my mental health concerns. My requests for medication refills were repeatedly ignored without explanation (a medication I have been on for a very long time and has now not been refilled in months), and appointments were sometimes mishandled or abruptly ended with zero change, which I’ve repeatedly brought up that my mental health has been declining. Overall, I left appointments feeling that patient concerns and continuity of care were secondary, and my experience with LifeStance was deeply disappointing.

My therapist out of another Lifestance office is absolutely incredible. However, anytime I schedule at this office with my psych my appt is only 20 minutes long, even when I specify when scheduling that I need to discuss a med change and decide on a new plan. In what world can that be done for mental health (or anything) in 20 minutes? I left my appt, after a year of being a patient, feeling unheard and my concerns not being fully addressed nor a full resolution found before I was sent on my way because she had to get on with another patient. Instead of leaving with a resolution, I left with more hoops to jump through and all of the hope lost that I had while waiting for this appointment. Go elsewhere for a psych if you want someone to give you the actual time that patients deserve when in these mental health situations. 20 minutes is not enough time to review notes from previous visits, listen to your patient and decide plan of action and it shows in the care patients receive. Instead of getting more invoices for the day you should be giving the patients more time and fully meeting their needs when they have been waiting for an appointment for weeks.
