About Assessment Services Inc.

Assessment Services, Inc., in West Des Moines, Iowa, focuses on providing court mandated education programs, assessments and treatment for mental health issues and substance use disorders through outpatient services.

They also provide services for the Department of Transportation operating while intoxicated (OWI) 1st offense impaired drivers education program and a 2nd offense program.

Assessments, Evaluations and Education for DOT and Court Mandated Programs

When you first arrive as ASI, they assess your treatment needs and create a plan that includes any mandated program you must complete either through the court system or the DOT. I find it good to know that as a first step in your evaluation. They also complete a 30 minute substance use disorder screening and assessment to determine your immediate treatment needs.

Their therapy is offered through their sister company ka(l)m therapy group, PLLC.

Treatment Offered Through Sister Company, Ka(l)m Therapy Group, PLLC

I find it encouraging that treatment includes therapy through cognitive behavior therapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. This type of therapy helps clients recover from trauma and other conditions including PTSD, anxiety, panic disorders and depression.

This business establishment is far from a scam. It turns out, they are very knowledgeable in the laws and will 100% fight for the privacy and rights of their clients. They helped us avoid so many unnecessary hoops because of a justice system that was being unjust. Turns out, the owner knew exactly what to do and what she was doing the whole time and it was our mistake from being misinformed. The owner handled it with grace and kindness. She was professional and so helpful. Sometimes you have to take a step back and see the full picture. It was a little tough to get a hold of her (she is one busy lady) and rightfully so. I can admit when I am wrong and I was wrong. This place, the people we have encountered have been the most considerate, helpful, and eye opening professionals we have worked with in a long time. It is refreshing to experience. I would absolutely recommend this business simply for the fact they will not only help with substance abuse issues, they will make sure you understand what is happening and the laws to protect your privacy. THAT is priceless!

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns. We are genuinely sorry to hear that your experience with our office left you feeling frustrated, confused, and dissatisfied. We never want someone interacting with our practice to leave feeling that their questions were not answered or that the services and associated costs were not clearly explained.

We take concerns about fees, scheduling, communication, and interactions with our staff seriously. We also understand how frustrating administrative requirements can feel, particularly when the reason for them has not been clearly communicated.

Because Assessment Services provides confidential behavioral health and substance use-related services, we have a responsibility to protect the privacy of every individual who may interact with our practice. This means we cannot confirm whether someone received services here or publicly discuss, explain, correct, or dispute the specific circumstances described in an online review. We understand that this limits our ability to provide our perspective publicly, but maintaining confidentiality must come first.

What we can say is that we believe people deserve to understand the services being provided to them, what those services cost, and what may be required or recommended as part of the process. We also expect our clients and families to be treated with kindness and respect when communicating with our office. If someone feels that did not happen, we want the opportunity to hear about it and review the concern.

We would sincerely welcome the opportunity to address these concerns privately. The individual involved is encouraged to contact our office and ask to speak directly with a supervisor or clinical director so that the concerns regarding communication, services, and charges can be reviewed thoroughly. If they would like a spouse, partner, or another person involved in that conversation, we can also explain how to provide the appropriate authorization so that we can communicate openly with that person.

We recognize that receiving critical feedback is part of providing services to the community, and we take that feedback seriously. Our intention is not to dismiss anyone’s experience or argue with someone publicly. It is to listen, determine whether something could have been handled better, address concerns when appropriate, and continue working to provide professional, respectful, and transparent services.

Other Forms of Payment

Private insurance refers to any kind of healthcare coverage that isn't from the state or federal government. This includes individual and family plans offered by an employer or purchased from the Insurance Marketplace. Every plan will have different requirements and out of pocket costs so be sure to get the full details before you start treatment.

Self-pay involves paying for treatment out of your own pocket. You can use savings or credit, get a personal loan, or receive help from family and friends to fund your treatment. If you don't have insurance or your insurance plan doesn't cover a specific program, self-pay can help ensure you still get the care you need.

Addiction Treatments

Levels of Care

Outpatient rehab programs are designed to support clients who are exiting inpatient treatment and for those who prefer to remain in their own homes during active recovery. Clients in outpatient care typically integrate treatment into their ordinary daily routine, including work and school schedules. Evening, night, and weekend therapy sessions, recovery training courses, and other outpatient services are widely available to accommodate clients' needs. Many outpatient rehabs also offer medication assisted treatment (MAT), including medication induction and maintenance.

Treatments

When an individual cannot control their alcohol use despite negative health, social, or occupational consequences, this is known as alcohol use disorder (AUD). They may experience physical withdrawal symptoms if they stop drinking. To successfully maintain sobriety, professional help is often necessary. Alcohol rehab in Iowa provides the crucial evidence-based therapies, support groups, and family involvement that make it possible to overcome alcohol addiction.

Drug rehab in Iowa is available in many formats. A variety of inpatient and outpatient options provide programs that are tailored to individual needs, making recovery possible for everyone.

Programs

Adult rehab programs include therapies tailored to each client's specific needs, goals, and recovery progress. They are tailored to the specific challenges adult clients may face, including family and work pressures and commitments. From inpatient and residential treatment to various levels of outpatient services, there are many options available. Some facilities also help adults work through co-occurring conditions, like anxiety, that can accompany addiction.
