They strive towards enhanced quality of life among residents via quality and compassionate care that strengthens families while supporting patients’ dignity. They elimin | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I genuinely could not have had a better experience with Charles Drew Health Center. I was able to get in to see Dr. Kate Scott from UNMC, and she was incredible. She was knowledgeable, kind, thorough, and, most importantly, took the time to actually educate me about my condition. I left my appointment understanding what was going on, what my options were, and why the recommended course of treatment made sense. That kind of care makes a huge difference.
Charles Drew itself also really impressed me. Having a pharmacy literally right upstairs from the clinic is a game changer. Being able to leave an appointment and get your medication without having to make another trip across town removes one more barrier to getting the care you need.
What stood out to me most, though, is how much Charles Drew truly feels like it exists for the community. Between medical care, pharmacy services, community outreach, education, and the other resources they provide, it feels about as close to a one stop shop for healthcare and support as you can get. There is a real effort being made to make quality healthcare accessible, understandable, and convenient for the people they serve.
I would recommend Charles Drew to anyone. My experience from beginning to end was excellent, and I walked away feeling informed, cared for, and genuinely grateful that we have an organization like this serving our community. They aren’t just providing healthcare, they’re showing up for people, and that matters.

T | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I was at uta Halee in 2021, I got the march 21st and left may 2nd. My experience there was amazing I was in the shelter waiting for a bed at nova treatment community, Mrs Robinson was always there for me when I needed to talk to someone. Mrs collins was always fun to be around, Mrs Philips had a great sense of humor, Mr Harris was absolutely amazing he greeted me with kindness he always made sure I had a smile on my face, when I first got there I slept for 3 days straight and he would peak his head in my room making sure I was okay! Of course I was really shy at first but I made it through my stay. Mrs Jackson and me never got close and Mrs Hawthorne and me always had great conversations she even got to see my comedy personality. Every Wednesday was my favorite day because I got to enjoy the culinary class they had! Sometimes on the weekends they would allow us to use the tv to watch our favorite networks no matter what the movie was it just had to be appropriate. Right was my probation officer dropped me off a fight happened upstairs a girl punched another girl 82 times in just two minutes because they were left with one other staff member, I always had fun there. When you shaved you were supervised to save people from self harm! I did watch a few people runaway and watched someone beat up a deputy. But that told everyone that they needed to be somewhere more intense to straighten themselves up! Overall my stay there was amazing!!!

Their programs include behavioral health services that address chemical dependency and include alternative therapies like meditation, yoga, exercise, photography and music. The hospital has a 24-bed inpatient | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I’m not sure why this place isn’t more highly rated on Google but I’d like to share my experience as it was wonderful!
Last week I delivered a baby here. I came in almost an hour before my scheduled induction and was in labor already. I gave birth about 15 minutes after walking through the doors of L&D. I was greeted by 4 nurses all ready and on standby as they could tell I was probably in labor already. I learned about a new birth called En Caul. Which is what mine ended up being. The nurse girlies and midwife were all amazing.
I tried to remember everyone’s names and I think I forgot a few … but I hardly ever remember names when in labor/postpartum rooms. That being said Mindy, Kaycee, Mayrin, Rachel (a charge nurse I think), & Colette were all my nurses at one point. There were a couple of others (one was a float nurse in hospital) that were also incredible and felt like friends more than just nurses.
I also had a wonderful lactation consultant whose name I didn’t write down, but I’ve had terrible experiences in the past and she renewed my hope in pumping.
Dr. Lange (OB) & Dr. Maxwell (a pediatrician) were also incredibly kind, helpful, and great at educating me on any questions or things that came up with my baby and I. I think I forgot the midwife’s name but she arrived as soon as my baby started coming. Which was with in minutes! She was so kind and incredibly prompt.
I live about 90 minutes away from the hospital and every step of the way I felt my concerns, questions, and cares were listened to. The online portal and Methodist app makes things very easy to navigate. It’s easy to send messages for non urgent issues and I always have a prompt response. From every appointment reminder to the receptionists all the way to the doctors I felt cared for. I had a lot of bad experiences with healthcare in Florida so it was nice to be in a place that was genuine and kind. Truly, thank you to everyone that helped me have such a wonderful birth experience.
Also, the rooms are super nice and the hospital is extremely clean! I even got to see a mama and baby deer from my L&D room pop out of the forest just as I was moving rooms. The room service staff was also positive and prompt as well.
Labor and delivery/prenatal care is extremely sparse in Iowa as I’ve learned. It’s very important to have access to hospitals like this! It’s difficult to find care at all while pregnant here, but it’s extra special when you find it and every point of contact makes you feel at ease.

It took a while to get an initial appointment to see a new psychiatrist and therapist when I first moved to the area, but there is such a nationwide shortage of mental health workers, it's totally understandable.
