I really appreciate how kind and courteous everyone is. It took a while to get an initial appointment to see a new psychiatrist and therapist when I first moved to the area, but there is such a nationwide shortage of mental health workers, it's totally understandable. I now have a therapist I see twice a week, a psychiatrist I see once a month, an IHH caseworker, AND a peer support counselor all in one place! Plus, they offer telehealth, making it convenient for people like me who can't drive and have limited access to transportation.

I was blessed to be able to come to St Gregory Recovery Center for help with alcohol addiction. I am over one year sober now thanks to the caring and knowledgeable staff. Their approach is evidence based and scientific, but also faith based. I experienced God working in my life to help take away my urges to drink and change my thought patterns. I also learned to live the 7 virtues with a great group of peers who all supported each other! Thanks to what I learned at St. Gregory, with a clear and sober head I am able to address and “fix” other flaws and weaknesses as well. Don’t waste your time anywhere else.

I have been going to UCS for over 10 years now for everything from medication assisted treatment to mental health care to getting a check up. I felt the need to write a review because I have noticed a significant change in the way patients are being treated and it is amazing to see that they are no longer putting a focus on punitive ideology and instead are listening to the reason for the trouble they are having. It is very refreshing to see. I also have a Human Services degree and a focus on getting my CADC certification so I can help people who are now going through what I spent years of my life trying to get past. I have seen a shift from the status quo and punishment for cannabis related issues. Which is also a big reason I am able to cope with PTSD and not even think about taking another painkiller for my own reasons. I hope that I can see a further bridging of the disconnect that still remains within the treatment community between patients and caregivers. It is a good start UCS!! THANK YOU FOR LISTENING TO US!!

I transferred from a clinic from Washington state I've been treated at two different clinics I Washington and two in Oregon and over all ucs has been the most helpful the nurses, pharmacists and receptionists at the front desk really try their best to treat you like a normal everyday person with respect. Jessi Allard was my therapist/counselor at EFR. That woman helped me change my life within a year. I pushed and tried so hard because I was at rock bottom and she did not let me fail. She showed me that I was capable and worthy of so much in life. It is very rare for me to find a therapist that would listen to me. So finding Jessi and getting an actual diagnosis was the best thing that could have ever happened to me! When I needed extra help she scheduled me twice a week, and if I needed space or less time it would be once a week. She is very accommodating, very outgoing, very stylish, full of life, and a great listener! I highly highly recommend Jessi!

I went to the treatment center at Zion in Clarinda. It was the best experience. The staff was amazing. The building was clean. They made sure you were always taken care of. They helped me tremendously. I felt like a new person after 28 days. I HIGHLY recommend this facility to anyone taking the step to recovery. My personal experience was AWESOME.

New life Counseling is a wonderful place to seek guidance in any stage of your life. Dr. Don Gilbert is a man of god that uses Christs teachings to guide and help when you seek his counseling. He will take the time to personally connect with you and is not afraid to speak about his life experiences as examples and to let you know that you are not alone in tough times in your life. I have referred Dr. Don to many friends and after speaking to him, I am thanked for putting him him their path. Knowing that he has helped me in so many levels, personalty, spiritually and mentally. I haven't personally been a patient here, but I have had several friends complete the inpatient program for substance abuse, and they all seemed to like it. I know you can still smoke cigarettes, but no cell phones the first few weeks and limited if any contact at all with the outside world. It's coed, so that probably helps people when making a decision for an inpatient facility. Especially when we're talking 30+ days or more, detoxing off any and all things good, lol! The entrance to check in is tricky to find too, it's actually on the back side, or really, it might even be the side of the building under an awning. Hit the buzzer, and someone comes to help you get checked in.
