I don’t know about the drs but their rehab program is the best they work on your mental health and get to the root causes of your addiction I was also in a lot of physical pain and I got to go to physical therapy and they were great also…

Zero issues with billing things even became complicated when I added a secondary insurance and I still didn't have a problem. They acclimated to my schedule and my family's schedule when alot of places would not. They take almost every insurance and genuinely care about the clients they serve. I haven't personally been a patient here, but I have had several friends complete the inpatient program for substance abuse, and they all seemed to like it. I know you can still smoke cigarettes, but no cell phones the first few weeks and limited if any contact at all with the outside world. It's coed, so that probably helps people when making a decision for an inpatient facility. Especially when we're talking 30+ days or more, detoxing off any and all things good, lol! The entrance to check in is tricky to find too, it's actually on the back side, or really, it might even be the side of the building under an awning. Hit the buzzer, and someone comes to help you get checked in.

I’ve unfortunately been to 9 inpatient treatments in Iowa and Hazelden in Minnesota. Powell is easily the best one in Iowa and their programming and staff are right on par with Hazelden. Which is one of the best (maybe the best) treatment in the USA. I highly recommend Powell if you or a loved one is serious about getting sober. They know what it takes to get sober and more importantly what to do to stay sober! 5 ⭐️

Beth, LPN at Broadlawns is amazing! I am not sure if she works only for Dr Nuehart (sp?) only but I called her in a frantic about a program that assists with my Mom. Not only was she pretty much done with her shift and still helping me.... she was concerned about MY health and taking care of myself during this process of taking care of my Mom.... and I have never even been a patient there! I will now though. I wish everyone in this world was like Beth in the service world...... Hats off to this amazing lady!! I hope people are half as good to her as she was to me today!

The number one priority is you communicate with your counselor and the Doctor. Once you reach the dose your body needs the real changes begin. coming into NOVA i struggled a whole lot. I hated nova with a passion i didn't want to open up i was constantly keeping my guard up. I hated people i was very very distant in the community i would get mad at the smallest things and cuss people out over little stuff. I've now have been able to control my anger and process through my truama slowly but surely, and if it wasn't for all of the four communities i have been in with all of the staff i probrobly wouldnt have made it as far as i have came. I wouldn't have been able to dig deeper to my mental health. But more of the story Nova has helped me turn my who life around.

YSS saved my life, then gave me purpose in life. I was a very troubled kid, a burden on society, and my parents were at their wit's end. They were desperate when they turned to YSS. And while I fought it at first (couldn't stand authority), I eventually surrendered to the program/the process and my life turned 180 degrees.
Today, as a person in long-term recovery, my purpose is to create hope and opportunities for others that are struggling.

I had to take alcohol classes at Urban dreams December 2024, and I can honestly say it was a very positive experience. The staff at Urban Dreams were always professionals, respectful, and supportive, which made the process much easier to go through.
Our Instructor, Kristen Steele, went above and beyond in every class. She was not only knowledgeable but also approachable, making sure that everyone felt comfortable and understood the material. Kristen shared a lot of valuable information that wasn't just about completing a requirement, but about really learning how alcohol can impact our lives and how to make better choices moving forward.
I also had a substance abuse evaluation with Felicia Chumley, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She is one of the kindest, most attentive people I've met in this process. Felicia made feel completely comfortable from the start, which really helped me open up and be honest about my situation. Felicia made what could have been a stressful experience into something positive and encouraging.
I would definitely recommend Urban Dreams to anyone who needs this classes or simply wants to gain more understanding about alcohol and its effects.

I attended cfr in person in 2022. I feel that they listened well. i really appreciated all the resources they helped with. It was a great start to where I am at in my sobriety and recovery. The different groups kept it interesting and when there was an unsafe moment they handled it extremly well. Only thing that was challanging was the frequent change of staff. but it was one great person in exchange for the next.

Since I've moved here from Colorado, I had difficulty getting on medically assisted treatment (MAT) CFR was the only agency that really made an effort in scheduling me a s a p, they seem me & assessed me right away. Got me set up with groups & individual counselling that have been beneficial to me. Thank you very much April, Dana, Jessie & Caroline for your help & patience with me because I know I've been difficult at making my appointments & other places would have discharged me by now. The doctors are all at the top of their field and I’ve had magnificent care from seeing Keegan in the ER when I first arrived to Dr McIntyre. Later I saw Dr Reyes & Dr Rice who performed my ERCP & Dr Mira & surgical teams who will do the lengthy and complicated procedures needed for Friday’s surgeries. They have all communicated very effectively, have comforting bedside manners which have a helped keep me feeling confident in their abilities to successfully complete these complex & lengthy procedures. The nurses here have all been terrific after a bumpy start in the ER. Once we smoothed that over, I’ve never had any nurses come close to the quality, compassion and care each and their techs have shown. 10/10 for all medical professionals at Iowa Methodist Medical Centre. Congrats!

I was reading through these comments and I wanted to address a few things. I've been there for 3 months. I've been at another treatment centers in the past like UCS. A lot of the things the comments are true about places like UCS. Where they shame patient or we're running some sort of financial scam. Covert action is absolutely not one of those places. Everyone always very friendly to me I feel like I have a room full of friends every time I go there. My counselor is lovely she's always very sweet to me shes concerned legitimately about my needs. They're very well priced I think it's $70 for a week if you don't have insurance. Which is only $5 a day and as a user I always seem to be able to scrounge up enough money to get high I can definitely come up with 5 bucks and I did. The program is effective is the first time that I've been cleaned in nearly 15 years. This will be the first Christmas I've been sober with my family. But not only save lives there but they give you a life worth saving. And I saw some comments about Judy and I think she is an absolute darling I love her to death and she is the nicest most caring doctor I've ever met in my entire life. She always remembers my name just by my face. And she always treats me like a long lost friend. I look forward to speaking with her every month when I come to get my renewal. CFR Has the most amazing staff members. These people truly care about the people that enter their doors. The understanding and compassion and care from the staff is unremarkable. I left early but I wish I wouldn't have, although I'm still clean I have considered going back for more treatment. The facility is nice and clean and they have everything you need to make you comfortable. They have rules but they're put in place for reasons. You get out of treatment what you put into it! I appreciate all of them.

I was here 2 years ago and a friend wanted recommendations for her son that's struggling bad right now. I of course said here. Yes I went back out within a few weeks cause at the time I couldn't get through mother's day sober due to not having them with me and I didn't utilize the skills I was taught. It makes me sad to see these poor reviews. The staff was great. the meals not bad. The nursing dept wasn't the friendliest but never rude. What's the worst that could happen if you give it a try? I went back to treatment and proud to say 226 days sober!!
